Here is my dilemma. I am trying to get an outline of Adrian Peterson, and use it for a coverage map. The picture I want to use:

Now, I am trying to get just the outline of AP, and use it for a coverage map, similar to this:

What would be the easiest way to do this? I tried pasting the picture over a transparent layer, and just copying the layer, but that don't work! I'm not skilled enough to just draw the outline freehand either!

Use the magnetic lasso option and trace AP's figure. Once it's connected, a selection outline should show up. Bring the map into the AP picture, hide AP's layer and make sure the map layer is selected in the layer panel. Press Control+C to copy the outline and Control+V to paste it in a new layer. I don't know the specifics but that should get you to where you're goin'.
