"Well, I wasn't sure if this had been brought up or not but starting last week (late last week), Wii shipments to store will be dependant on DS Lite sales.

No, this is isn't company specific. It's an order from Nintendo. Whoever has the least DS sales gets very little or none from them. At least three completely different retailers are now forced to abide by this.

Discuss. If you want.

Oh, it's not just for the Holidays either. Permanent "motivation" until further notice."

If true, it reminds me of Nintendo's practices back in the day. I thought they had learned their lesson...

That's... strange.

That's bizarre, actually. I'm assuming this is a North American (and maybe European) only thing.

this could work in our advantage as they could be some amazing DS Lite deal.

Im guessing the amount of DS lite sales provide a guage as for the demographic in the area, those casual gamers. Makes sense, it seems like they really don't have enough numbers of wii to go around.

Maybe.

It just seems weird they'd have to provide "motivation" to sell something that's already selling well.

DS could still sell better... i mean it's not sold out everywhere like Wii is... so i guess Nintendo is trying to motivate stores to do something about it cause they know the Wii will fly off the shelf no matter which retailer gets it

that's actually a great idea. The places that sell more DS's are the places that have more people visiting(most of the time), so they are putting the wii's where the demand is most. Anyway(unrealated question) how did the thrustmaster turn out? Any good? (even if i do buy it today, i'll have to wait 6weeks for shipping)
