Manual or Electric razor? I have been shaving my head for about 4 months now and am sick of going through razors like they are candy. Opinions??

I started with a manual and then switched to an electric, eventually settling for a #3 attachment. (I still like having some hair. :D) Cheapy once mentioned that he uses an electric with no attachment for the sheer convenience. It seemed to look good when I visited him in January of this year.

I just lather up the face and dome together and use my Mach3 Turbo on it. I go through a blade a week, approximately. Still cheaper than a haircut ;)

I use wal-mart clippers ($30 or so), and the #2 attachment. Quick and easy, and it saves me $10 a month. I've never gone bald though, got a mole up there that I prefer to keep somewhat hidden. Nothing cancer-nasty-looking or anything, but still not a trophy to display.

Depends. If I'm in a hurry, electric razor. If I'm a pensive, meditative mood, a barber-style straight razor. That reminds me, my hair's already gettin' too long. It's time to cut mine as well. I just wish winter would already finish as hair is my fur coat for my head.

I use a pair of clippers without the guard for the top, and a Gillette Fusion for the sides.

Electric. I use #2 up top and #1 underneath and use a comb and the clippers to even up the line. My hair grows into a poof ball if I keep it even.

I use electric with no guard. To me its too much of a hassle/pain in the ass...to use razors anymore.

I shave it totally bald so just wondering if a electric gets ya a smoother shave than a manual? I have never tried a electric razor in my life

I don't shave my head, but from shaving experience, I always thought that a manual w/ a semi thick lather always offered the closest / smootheest shave.

I use a electric with the shortest attachment. I look wierd with my hair shaved all the way to the skin.

Question for you guys who use manuel razors. Is it a pain in the ass to shave the back of your head? If I miss a spot you can't really tell since I still have a thin layer of hair. With a manual razor it seems like it would be kinda frustrating to get it perfect.

Same as MrX. It's very easy to feel for it once you've done it a few times. And I think I still get a closer shave using a straight razor but then again, I'm so used to using it that I doubt my opinion would be unbiased were I to try an electric w/ a lot of lather.

I used an electric whenever I got the urge to just shave my head for no real reason. I'll probably do so again next Summer.

I use an electric but I'm curious about trying the head blade (http://www.headblade.com/).

I was going to suggest the Head Blade, actually...I don't shave my head, but I have a friend who swears by these things.

Wait which head are you referring to?

Doesnt matter I guess, I just use a blender (magic bullet) for both.

I don't know what kinda mutated member you have... but I sure as hell don't grow hair on the tip of my penis. Bad attempt at humor. ;)
