Honestly, I wouldn't worry about getting your money back since at that price point it's a small difference in value. You paid for The Darkness - 24.29 and Call of Duty 3 - 17.99 and MUA/Forza 2 was free. Before taxes, that's $42.28 - or approximately $14.10 for each game. Not bad at all. Even if you swapped out The Darkness and picked up another $19.99 game (17.99 with Edge discount) the total is a difference of just a few bucks. That would come to $35.98 for 3 games - or $11.99 for each game. Crap, that is a nice deal. Go back and return The Darkness! ;)

It's a double sided case. Inside, there are two "flaps" for the discs, sort of like a double-disc DVD. It comes with the two seperate discs and two seperate manuals.

It was the same way here. The DS section was pretty bare, aside from some pretty crappy games. The PS2, 360, and regular Xbox section were pretty well stocked, though.

I called a few gamestops on 12/26 and found one that had odin sphere and ar tonelico. I assumed I could find another 35 dollar game..

I get there and find the ar tonelico first. The cover art looked fubared pretty bad. I thought I should check out the instruction booklet. As I opened up the case it actually broke completely in half ripping the shitty coverart in half. Inside was just a random page from the booklet that someone ripped out.

Needless to say I passed on that one.

I then found the Odin Sphere. Snagged that.

Decided to also pick up a Soul Nomad and a Zone of Enders 2nd Runner.

Odin Sphere looked brand new, Soul Nomad was near mint and ZoE was pretty effed up. But it works so far after a playing for about an hr.

Stopped by another Gamestop today w/ my buddy and we paired up to get a few games. I snagged Pikimin 2, La Pucelle Tactics and Jak 3.

Also used the 10% of coupon from the newsletter. I may take back Jak 3 though because its only like 13 bucks new @ the local best buy and it came out to be ike 9 when I got it.

First, I want to clarify a bit on this statement. I don't know what people have been told, but based on the ads for this sale, it's been stated to be a 5 day sale. It started the 26th. That's 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30. So, the sale runs THROUGH Sunday, 12/30. If you go on Monday, 12/31, you'll be out of luck.

Having said that, I FINALLY made my haul today. I went to two stores and picked up:

Wow... after driving all over Grand Rapids today, I finally got Mass Effect. Exchanged WWE 08 for Mass Effect.

On another note, GS/EB computer systems suck. I was at one location and they looked up Mass Effect and Orange Box at all the other stores in the area. Turned out they were listed as being in stock used across the street at the store in the mall. Went there after 30 mins of fighting traffic for what should have taken 5 mins. Go in and they can't find them at all. Drive another 45 mins across town and Bingo, but it took some searching for them to find it. Still estatic that I finally got Mass Effect.

Well I called the two stores that were 40-50min away that had Uncharted and only one had it. I went into my local store and was planning on getting mass effect there and skate for ps3 to run across the street to the other store to exchange for a 360 version of skate. The manager decided to let me transfer Uncharted from the other store. I asked if there was any chance that someone traded in a copy of skate for the 360, and they had ! Not only did someone just trade in a copy, but it was still sealed! I didn't have an edge card yet and decided to get that since I know they track those and it would help the store. ( I don't normally buy used games).

So I got the exact combo I wanted when I heard about this sale after a week of trying to get it.

Total with the discount card was $104.97 after the 10% GC I got when I bought rockband w/ coupon. (GC was $18 something)

So if you want to exchange your game for something of equal value, you'd better go today. However, I'm not sure if this policy applies to all retailers. Should be able to. I got Halo 3, Kane & Lynch, and Ratchet (free) on Black Friday. On Thursday after the deal expired, they had no problem with me exchanging Ratchet for Assassin's Creed.

I don't think you can do that. IIRC, the return value of games you buy during a B2G1 is reduced to 2/3 or something after the sale ends. So if you want to exchange your game for something of equal value, you'd better go today. However, I'm not sure if this policy applies to all retailers. I believe that this is how TRU handles it, FWIW.

Went to the scariest Gamestop ever today. I went online to find a few gamestops I haven't looked through yet, and I found one.

Its in pretty much the worse part of the state in the worst area of like the worst city.

When I was there the person working behind the counter got into a huge fight and spit into the customers face. Who then theatened to "cut the *n* word bitch up". The girl told him him that he was a "dumb *n* word with no balls" and she would kick the shit out of him.

It went on like this for about 30 minutes with them going at it... pushing and shoving a little bit, etc. Before the customers "boys" took him outside to cool down.

I've never been to a retailer where the person working behind the counter spits on the customer. It was very messed up.

I didn't bother pushing the 10% off coupon when the couldn't figure out who to work it. I just wanted to get the hell out of there.

I should've known the gamestop was bad when it had like a homeade sign hanging up outside, etc.

When I exchanged Ninja Gaiden Sigma ($45 after EDGE) for Lego Star Wars ($40.50 after EDGE), the guy just scratched off Ninja Gaiden Sigma from my original receipt, and issued me a credit for the difference. He did not have to return the other two games (I did not even have them with me).

If you exchange one of your games, and your freebie is more expensive than the game you want, I do not know how they handle that. I imagine they recalculate the promotion with the new set of three games, but I do not know.

For confusion sake, I took 3 games back to exchange 1 on 2 different occasions. The first time, they credited me ~$49 for Orange Box and the new receipt shows that I paid ~$49 for Assassins Creed. (I hope to exchange this for Mass Effect) The 2nd set I took back was a cheap game (Beowulf) in exchange for a more expensive game (Darkness). In this case, he had to credit back the 3 games I bought and then have me purchase the 3 games I wanted.

I do not think this ever got answered so I will answer it for you. You can exchange the game within 7 days with the receipt, regardless if the sale is going on or not. When I did the exchange I talked about, I exchanged a game that was more expensive for a less expensive game at a different GS in another part of the county. It went thru without a hitch.

Yea, they confirmed it was the last day when I was in there yesterday. Who knows if you try today though. Doubt it will work but if you are there you never know. I know that the 1st day of the sale at the local stores they didn't have the promotion loaded into the retail system so the employees had to enter the 3rd game free manually.

I finally scored yesterday and found a copy of Uncharted! Picked up a bunch of older stuff too that I had on my list. Most of the stores I hit in the malls were a disaster. Very crowded and most of their stuff was picked over and in poor condition. A local store in a strip mall across the road from the large indoor mall was where I found some great stuff. I could have probably kept picking out games I had been waiting on for a couple hours if my wife wasn't with me. :cry:

So I got clairfications on what happens if your game that you return during the B2G1F deal:

If you return a free game or one of the games you bought you will have to pay the difference if its more expensive. Example if you paid 19.99 and 24.99 and the Free One was 9.99 and you want to return it for something that cost 19.99 you will have to pay the $10 difference since the sale ended.

Now if you want to return another game that you purchased that was more expensive for something cheaper you get the money back. Example: Bought $39.00 and $24.00 free game $19.99 and you want to return the $39.00 for a game that cost $24.00 you get $15 dollars back.

I hope that clears up some things for those who were wanting to exchange after the hell known as after christmas shopping.

I got the Collector's Edition, and while it was complete, I felt that $30 for a new copy of Sigma at BB after coupon (not Collector's Edition) was a much better deal. If you can get in on that, I would suggest that instead of the used copy. Especially since the copy at GS is about $15 more even after EDGE.

GH3 doesnt work with my wired guitar from GH using the Pelican adapter on my PS3. If I go return, I think I have to return all 3 since the receipt shows GH3 was free. That would suck since I want to keep Uncharted. Guess I should just use the credit to get the GH3 bundle instead.

The one time I had a return of a B2G1, I just exchanged one of the games for a used game of the same price. I would think they could do the same, the receipt should show how much GH3 originally was, so you should just be able to pick a game no more expensive than GH3 was.

I did not have a problem exchanging Uncharted yesterday, after the sale ended. I just took in Uncharted and my receipt and brought them to the front along with a used copy of Unreal.

The clerk asked me if something was wrong with Uncharted, I said no, that it was a great game, but I beat it in two days of pretty much non-stop playing and wanting to give Unreal a try.

No problems at all, super smooth transaction.

Edit: one note, Uncharted was NOT my free game in the first transaction...not sure if that changes things for people or not.

Although I didn't exchange AFTER the sale, I made some exchanges myself, and it seemed pretty easy.
I had originally picked up Mario Galaxy, Mario Strikers, and Metroid Prime3 ($40.49 each after Edge) and got Prime free in the deal.
The next day I went to a different GS and exchanged Galaxy for Ratchet and Clank for PS3 (since I still have my Galaxy unopened from the Target price match of $37 at BB)...I then decided to exchange Strikers for Mass Effect for 360 and will be returning my unopened copy.
I noticed after I got home that they actually credited me $44.99 for my two returns, so I ended up saving another $10 or so...guessing this was a mistake from the clerk.

All in all, I paid about $91 for Mass Effect, Ratchet and Clank Future, and Metroid Prime 3. Not too shabby if you ask me :)

Gamestop sent me a copy of Darkness Xbox360 from this deal in an unsealed BLACK dvd case with no MS stickers on it, but with the correct front paper label inserted in the case, manual and reasonable good shape disc (has some scratches, but I've had sealed ones look about as bad.) :cry:

I'm a bit pissed off, because it's not even in the original case.... so I wouldn't consider it new. Most other products, the packaging is discarded after purchase, but for games, they're usually stored in the stock packaging, so I consider original packaging integral to console software being labelled as "new".

Is this normal from gamestop.com? I've bought other "NEW" games from them (PC) and they've always come in sealed packages.

I'll call up customer service tomorrow when they're actually open. Any advice?

NHL 08 - 54.99

I exchanged Smackdown 08 for Mass Effect (54.99) on the last day of the sale, and then 20 mins ago I exchanged NHL 08 for College Hoops 2k8 (54.99) no problems or questions asked.

And the GS/EB around here, you can return used items within 7 days for basically any reason (my last receipt said "Did Not Like"). You'd probably have to return all three in a B2G1 or get the cost prorated.
If it was past 7 days, and he was treating it like a trade-in, no, you probably wouldn't get anything.
