BTW, bought both Boosts, the Toy Bike, and the Toy GT Concept. I'm impressed with the Toy Bike just for the Bikers' animations. So funny. But I'm mad that I can't change his outfit!

Hawker Mech looks crazy, L3 changes its' Boost Type (So it can be like a Speed car, but it can't get Burnouts, Boost cars, or Aggression cars)

The Extreme Hot Rod is basically infinite boost, it's locked on until you crash. Hitting X again won't do anything.

Well...I'm guessing everyone will have to download it, and unlocking it will be 108kb. Maybe you'll be able to drive around in it, but won't be able to go off jumps/go through billboards/smash gates/do races/challenges, etc. Basically you can drive around it, but you won't be able to do anything or unlock anything is my theory.

Ha! It's funny you mention this. I demoed a similar technology (probably the same kind) on a PC, and it was amazing. The game really felt like it was popping out at you. It's got to be horrible for your eyes, but hey, you have to compromise things like your eyesight sometimes.

Wait till it hits the bargain bin, though.

Absolutely LOVED this game, but it got stagnant waiting around for the DLC to release and goozexed it out. I felt the game was amazing and the support through Fall 08 was outstanding, but it seems like they could have moved on to a sequel after the bike pack. If they were going to release so much content that it costs far more than the price of the game to keep up, I'm not going to bother.

Pretty disappointed with the Annihilator hot rod, the BSI car takes the most work to unlock (other than the Diamond P12, and there's no way I'll end up getting that) and in an online race I could barely keep up with the toy Nighthawk. The extreme hot rod also seems to go faster and has better maneuverability. Buggy 2.0 makes Buggy 1.0 completely obsolete, but other than that, the other cars are enjoyable and the island is a lot of fun to drive around.

someone was just telling me I really need to get plat on Burnout and he's right I've had it way too long. I really need to just sit down and play some more. You know since this is the gen thread I do have one question. When you get all the gates.. do the yellow signs go back up? I find having yellow barriers really helpful in locating shortcuts kinda like the broken billboards that are still there after you break the billboards.

That's probably been my main hesitation in getting the yellow gate trophies. once they're gone if they're gone it's gonna be hard to 'learn the city'.

No, they don't come back... i tried to run all of them down so that i know which ones i have knocked down. However, i guess it's different if you knocked them out during a race or something... It's a fun game, i'm playing for the trophies, but i'm enjoying it too.

I just got this game this past week and so did a friend (yeah, I know). Man, I love it. I just started doing the online mode tonite and it is even more addicting. I need to go for the 8 Players in the baseball field trophy and will be setting up a match this week sometime. I know I just have to get 8 players in my match and set up the freeburn field challenge. I got the platinum last night. Wildcat trophy is a cinch if you host the game. I still have tons to do in the game and have yet to touch bikes. I will be playing this online a lot more, I know that. So I am definitely interested in playing with some CAGs.

As for more DLC... no idea. I still need to grab the ones out there. I am going to play the game some more before I do. I definitely want to grab the island and am curious about cops and robbers. I do know it was announced Criterion would be doing some Need for Speed stuff (boo), so they may be switching resources to that. I would much prefer more Burnout (DLC or the next game).

If we do bikes, just be forgiving as I have no clue what is going on with them. If you guys want to set up a time, do it. Can't wait!

Personally, I feel that Party and cops and robbers is a skip, but island is amazing.

As for the cars. the legendary pack is pretty great (at least the delorian) but if you get the island you can unlock toy versions of those cars, the toy delorian makes for super easy stunt runs.
The boost specials are a little over priced imo, and the toys are fun once in a while.

I need that one too, but i read that it's better to do the bike trophies after you've gotten the car's freeburn and timed challenge trophies (they might not unlock if you do bike freeburns). My save might be corrupted, since i did a bike freeburn i believe...

Anyway, i need timed challenge (10x) and freeburn (10x), any quick tips on how to complete them in the shortest time frame as possible? Thanks!

Freeburn challenges in general are pretty short. Time challenges can be a little bit tougher. Best advice would be to play with people who are concerned with finishing them and not people who just drive around aimlessly! :lol:

It is annoying you need it for the trophy, I agree. I lucked out and just happened to have gotten one for Xmas. The functionality in Burnout is pretty cool though.

Confirmed, I got one of the PS2 camera's when Best Buy was clearancing them out and it worked with the PS3 and Burnout.

you can select show challenges from your pause menu to see what you have done.

Pretty sure you need to do x different ones and not repeat the same ones over and over, but they usually are not too hard to do. and also pretty sure you have to complete them (meaning win? not sure what you mean by win) since all of these challenges are in a group, you don't have to accomplish the challenge before anyone else in your group, just make sure everyone involved also finishes the challenge. the freeburn challenges have no time limit at all, so if someone is sucking pretty bad (like me the other night) everyone else just has to wait for them to finish.

also everytime you complete a challenge you get a 'xxx / 500 challenges complete' popup.

No, you don't have to win, just finish them. They have to be different freeburns/challenges as well. I believe if you press start there is a screen that shows how many challenges/freeburns you've completed.

I don't know why it wasn't registering my 5 burning routes but i deleted my save and started over and 15 minutes later voila. agreed. your best bet would be a discount on PSN cards but that's unlikely due to how the PSN cards work. PSN has sales from time to time but they appear to be mostly on games not DLC from what I can tell.

it looks like on psn they have burnout paradise and all DLC for $29.99 or all DLC for 19.99. i was thinking of buying the full game as i don't have it, is this something i should invest money in or is it pretty much dead online now?

There is still quite a bit of online interest in the game... all this time later. It is easy to get into a full and fun game. It really hasn't been dethroned as the fun racer of this gen. It will be interesting to see if ModNation, Blur, or Split/Second can establish a good following.

If you have the HD space, 30 bucks for everything is a fantastic price.

If you run the latest patched version of Burnout, it shouldn't be very big at all. The most current edition has all the heavy stuff already inside... you are essentially buying unlocks to access it.

Does this game have any gamesharing limitations? I keep getting confused on what is gameshareable and what isn't. That $30 everything pack looks pretty good. I always hear such good things about this game. I wasn't too impressed with the demo, but for $6 it deserves a second chance.

You weren't impressed? I love Burnout 3 and had my reservations about Paradise but BP is easily one of my favorite racing games of all-time. It just feels huge, especially with Big Surf Island. There are a plethora of challenges and with up to 8 players able to play together, there's tons of fun to be had...

The pack ended up being 7 100kb unlock keys. If you're patched up, you should be good.

Thought to resurrect this thread, since I only need the damn Wildcat trophy. Can anyone help me with this stupid trophy. I also have some DLC trophies to get (8 man lobby required for the bike trophy). If you guys could spare like 30 minutes I would be ever so grateful. How about aiming for Thursday night (1/27/11), gives enough time to plan ahead? Aim for 9 PM PST. I have a few friends who also need this, but relying on random in game players is hit or miss.

To do the Wildcat Stadium trophy, just start a road rage (there's one a little bit west of the stadium I think) and drive in the stadium and just sit there). You'll eventually get the trophy.
You can go ahead and add me (jweaver64), I need the bike trophy as well, so I'll try to be online at that time (though it's kind of late).

I can help out. I remember getting it with randoms... always one guy who didn't go to the stadium. Frustrating. There are challenges to do that should corral people there eventually though. So, you can get it with a little patience.

I'm waiting to get this through goozex. I played almost all the burnouts on :ps2: For some reason though I always get up to the 9th level (license? challenge set?) and end up quitting or getting 'burntout' before the 10th. It's like there's never a big enough reward for finishing the game.

After I finish NFS I might have to go back to this. I loved Paradise but I stopped playing a while ago due to other distractions. NFS reminds me of how awesome Burnout is.

This is one of my favorite games of all time. I spent probably close to 200 hours playing it as I replayed it for a lot of the trophies. I think I need the Wildcat trophy still too, so I should be able to help out on Thursday. I usually log in late at night anyway. Wrencrest is my PSN

I will gladly help out with this game. KNow what sucks they made all the DLC in one bundle for $20 which is cool.. then they took it away which blows. They've done a fantastic job with the game and I think removing the complete bundle this late in the game is the first dick move they've pulled. Anyway look for me online and lemme know when you wanna do Burnout. I got all the trophies but there's still awards and such to get.

wildcat was one of the first trophies I got when i started playing online. The fact that you can make it a challenge makes it pretty simple to do.

Just an FYI to anyone who hasn't updated the game yet (or those that don't mind deleting/redownloading the updates) you can get a few extra cars by entering some cheat codes:
Cheat mode
At the main menu or while the game is paused, select the "Under The Hood" option. Choose the "Sponsor Code" selection, then enter one of the following case-sensitive codes to activate the corresponding cheat function. If you entered the code correctly, a message will appear. The cars will appear when you enter a junkyard after earning the required license. Note: Some codes require a PlayStation Network connection. Also, the ability to enter sponsor codes is not available after the v1.6 patch.
Use the following trick to restore the code entry feature. Although codes are not necessary for some cars, other cars (for example, Steel Wheels) are only available with the code. Backup your saved game files on an external memory device (for example, a USB flashdrive). Delete the "Game Data" for the game in your Xross Media Bar browser. This will force the game to revert to v1.50. Disable your internet connection to prevent the game from auto-updating. Restart the game, load the saved game file, and enter the desired sponsor codes. You can now restore your internet connection to patch to the newest update and keep the newly unlocked cars.


Circuit City Hotrod Enter "circuitcity" as a case-sensitive code in the North American version of the game to unlock the Circuit City Hotrod. Note: You must have a "Burnout Paradise" license to use this car.

Hunter Best Buy Oval Champ car Enter "bestbuy" as a case-sensitive code in the North American version of the game to unlock the Hunter Best Buy Oval Champ car. Note: You must have an "A" license to use this car.

Kitano GameStop Sport car Enter "gamestop" as a case-sensitive code in the North American version of the game to unlock the Kitano GameStop Sport car. Note: You must have an "A" license to use this car.

Kitano Micromania Hydros Custom car (European version) Enter "H211 1Z99 LZ00 00BB" as a case-sensitive code in the French version of the game to unlock the Kitano Micromania Hydros Custom car. Additionally, this code will also work in other European regions besides France if you change your default language for your system to French. Note: You must have an "A" license to use this car. The code contains the number zero and not the letter "O".

Steel Wheels car Enter "U84D 3Y8K FY8Y 58N6", "E60J 8Z7T MS8L 51U6", "G23X 5K8Q GX2V 04B1", or "E165 6L1Q ZQ2H 10V3" as a case-sensitive code in the North American version of the game to unlock the Steel Wheels car. I have those cars. They are just a couple of the cars you win in game with different liveries. They aren't any better than anything you can unlock.
