Here's the quick story...

I've been a bit of an Xbox360 fanboy for quite a while now, and I've had to replace 2 xbox's and my current one sounds like a jet turbine and is scratching discs. So, instead of trying to replace it again, I'm gonna get rid of it and get a PS3.

My current situation doesnt give me but 30mins - 1hour a day to play if that... so I'm not the gamer I once was. My job keeps me extremely busy..

But I need a DVD player, and I would like to get some high def movies... and currently I really like the Blu-ray selection better.

I have a few questions.... for all you PS3 fanatics... :D

- I'm getting a 60gb, and I'll probably upgrade it to a 250gb sata... one thing, can I store downloaded tv shows and movies on it?

- And whats the readable video codecs on it? I usually rip in .h264 (Apple user)

- I hear the online is free.. is it any good? I really love COD4 on the xbox. Is it similar to the connecting component? Or a pain in the ass to play online with people?

- What good games would you suggest... I like 2d classics (shumps, fighters) as well as FPS and RPGs (sometimes)

- Anything else badass with the firmware updates these days? I hear you can create themes. (Sorry, I dont know anyone with a PS3)

Thanks guys!!

on a more serious note CoD4 online is good on the ps3, it is obviously better on the 360 but I still enjoyed it a lot on the ps3. Another game to look into is Uncharted, that game is amazing, probably may game of the year. I have all consoles but I must say I am enjoying my ps3 more and more everyday. Im sure you will too.

Yes, you can store videos on it.

It can play mp4, .x264, and "soon" DiVX.

The online sucks... a lot compared to Xbox Live, but for free it's usable.

Good games? Good luck there. Resistance is pretty good.

Firmware...nothing spectacular, themes are nice. You can download user created thems.

Nah. Uncharted, Motorstorm, Ratchet and Clank, Heavenly Sword, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Warhawk are all out now and rule. Non exclusively there's UT3, Orange Box, Assassins Creed, Rock Band, COD4, Oblivion and more. In the future we've got LittleBigPlanet coming, which is quite boss.

I hope that improvisational list didn't come off as sounding fanboy-ish, but I'm gosh darned tired of people saying "PS3 ain't got no good games 'cept Resistance", because that was only appropriate to say a year ago and nowadays it just sounds plain ignorant.

Wow. Mookyjooky going PS3? Just as long as you create a bad ass PS3 theme (http://www.us.playstation.com/Content/PS3NetworkPlatform/Updates/img/ps3_themes/PS3_Custom_Theme_v101-E.zip) and share it with us.

OMG! OMG! You fanboi! ;)

I highly suggest Ratchet and Clank. That game is awesome. Probably the best one on the system. I just recently got Lair in from GameFly, it isn't all that bad. Not a system seller or one I suggest buying, but renting would be cool to check out some of the SIXAXIS controls. I like Pain and Everyday shooter from the PSN Store. Calling All Cars! is sweet too. I suggest getting a bluetooth headset asap. That is one thing that bugs me about the PSN, the lack of everyone having a headset.

i think next year its going to be impossibly expensive to be a gamer that has to play it all ;) i for one have to have both the xbox and the ps3 because its usually the exclusives that tip the boat for me either way. ps3 is bad ass but its had some LONG teething ;) oh cheapy .. you think shitbags are bad wait until the teething!

...um.......what?

Being the proud owner of all five current generation console(PSWii60 and DSP), it is going to be very expensive. Fun, but expensive.

Storing videos on the PS3 is one of my favorite things about it. Not sure if you can do it on the 360, because I've tried and couldn't figure it out, but I have so many videos on my PS3 my 60gb HDD is now pretty much full.

COD4 works well online, you pretty much invite people to your party and go from there.

I would also Highly highly recommend Warhawk, Ratchet and Clank, and Super Stardust HD. I got Super Stardust HD for 8$ and put almost 12 hours into it. It's that fun.

If you're only going to have a PS3, you have to have Uncharted.

Ratchet, Heavenly Sword, Oblivion, and Ninja Gaiden are all good too.

You're missing out on VF5 online, but VF5 for PS3 isn't bad if don't mind local multiplayer only. Plus w/a 60GB you can play all the PS2 stuff for whatever you can't find on PS3.

Is this a joke post because TMK is back?

Thanks guys for all your response, and no this is not a joke cause TMK is back. =)

I just work 50-75 hours a week, and I play music and do art projects... but playing video games takes time away from the productive projects and I feel like I should tone it down a bit and pick only one.

I'd keep my Xbox, but I like the blu-ray titles more, and my Xbox sounds like HELL. I have to keep the speakers really loud to cover the noise. I've never had an item I've had more hardware issues with. I dealt with it because the games were so much better.... but now its a bit more evened out... and the PS3 has more games coming out exclusivly that I'm interested than 360.

Yes... Get the 60GB PS3... It is KICKASS! Compared to the 80, 20, and 40GB versions... I don't have a PS3, but I know that the online service is kinda off from the xbox live... I don't have a Xbox or xbox 360 lol... Just a PS2 and PSP...

If you really have as little time to game as you say, then I have to be one to add an Unreal Tournament III recommendation. I can feel as satisfied playing for 30 minutes as if I put in a 4-hour online session (not that I do the latter these days).

If you like RPGs, I'd say check out Folklore. At least download the demo to see if it looks to your liking. I'm playing it now, and digging it.

If you like schmups, I hear Everyday Shooter is good, though I haven't played it.

And congrats on your 60 gig. :D
