I don't think the pic itself is offensive. I think the fact that you use it as an avatar is.
When I see it I think to myself...... it's the boob dude. Then I think to myself ... why would this guy want to associate his posts with a set artificially enhanced mammary glands on a video game website. Then I think maybe he's deprived of a good piece of ass and this is how he get's his kicks.

Normally I enjoy boobies, but I do read this board at work, so I appreciate keeping the sexual stuff to a minimum. I know you can turn avatars off, but it makes browsing the board much less fun, and kind of harder to see who said what (as it's much easier to use avatars to identify posters in your mind than reading the names).
