According to the SCEA Holiday Showcase, it will come in Early 08.
I can't remember how many can race online at once, but I know at least 8.

Cant wait for this myself, Early next year is great and if the price is decent (since I'm sure it will be looking at other PSN things) I'm grabbing it day 1. Wipeout rules so hard.

Yeah it is 8 players online, and 1080p with 60fps.
Day one buyer here too.
Sadly to me early 08 probably means march. But whenever it hits I'm there.

Will this be PSN only or will there be a physical release as well, like Warhawk? That screen looks awesome, I love Wipeout, but I would really prefer a physical disc to a download.

They made it a download because it was initially suppose to be just a PSP Wipeout type game in HD (kind of like how Gripshift was). SCEE Liverpool plans to release a full blown retail version of Wipeout (taking advantage of the PS3 power) late 2008 or maybe 2009. But since they upped the graphics, it might be good enough to be a retail game, but I think the lack of content is keeping it that way (Wipeout HD is kind of like an appetizer though).
I personally prefer download though, since PSN games have made me too lazy to insert a disc sometimes into my PS3. :-P
