Thanks for the heads up. The clerks hadn't heard of such a promotion and neither had anyone else in the city they called, but when it was put through the register the $20 was deducted. :)

Doesn't the deal sweeter when you get a good deal on something and the clerks don't even know about the sale?
The hard part I find though is asking them to scan the item with the computer to check the price. I usually tell them a "friend" told me it might be on sale.

Wow I use the friend excuse alot too.....
I hate how some clerks are soooo anal that they wont even scan the item because they are sure the price on the sticker is correct!
Like how much effort is it going to take for you to scan it?

I only get that kind of attitude from the "punk kid" clerks, that would rather take pictures of each other on their mobiles than help a customer.
Actually, instead of using the friends excuse, I use the Fox News motif of saying "Some people say...".
