NEW YORK — Another Spears baby is reportedly on the way — and it's not Britney's. Jamie Lynn Spears, the 16-year-old "Zoey 101" star and sister of Britney, tells OK! magazine that she's pregnant and that the father is her longtime boyfriend, Casey Aldridge.

"It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected," she says. "I was in complete and total shock and so was he."

Spears is 12 weeks along and initially kept the news to herself when she learned of the pregnancy from an at-home test and subsequent doctor visit, she told the celebrity magazine, which hits stands in New York on Wednesday and the rest of the country by Friday.

"As soon as I found out for sure from the doctor, I took two weeks to myself where I didn't tell anybody," she says. "Only one of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone's opinion affect my decision. Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me."

Spears broke the news to her mother, Lynne, just before Thanksgiving, the magazine says.

"She was very upset because it wasn't what she expected at all," Spears says. "A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive."

Lynne Spears, already grandmother to Britney's young sons, says: "I didn't believe it because Jamie Lynn's always been so conscientious. She's never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby."

She says her actress daughter, the telegenic heroine of the popular Nickelodeon series "Zoey 101," has known Aldridge for years and began dating him in high school.

Jamie Lynn plans to raise the baby in her home state of Louisiana — "so it can have a normal family life."

The third season of "Zoey 101" wraps up Jan. 4.

"I haven't spoken to (Nickelodeon) personally, but they have always been so great to me over the past years and have given me so many opportunities."

What message does she want to send to other teens about premarital sex?

"I definitely don't think it's something you should do; it's better to wait," she says. "But I can't be judgmental because it's a position I put myself in."

Too sad for words.

No kidding.

I feel sorry for celebrity kids in the USA. They have absolutely no chance at a normal life at this point. They either grow up and become trash, living off their name recognition alone, or they kill themselves. When was the last time you heard about one from the most current crop of celebrities being even close to normal?

About the only thing worse is how Angelina Jo Bitch considers her own born-of-her-flesh child less important than the ones she adopts from Africa. Goodness, I'm so sorry your actual child is less profitable to your bullshit public image.

I just read this while looking at Yahoo. That is some sad shit that neither her or her sister can stay away from having babies its like they never heard of protection either by condom or many other means. I laugh at how she kept this to herself for two weeks like she wasn't going to have to tell her family when they started to see the weight gain.

This is so funny, and yet, so sad.

I saw this on MSN.com, and the fact that the article was kinda..congratulating her in a sense. To put it, it was kind of like "GUESS WHO'S PREGNANT! :)"..and to be 16 and pregnant..well, that shouldn't be praised.

It's one thing if you are just some random 16 year old, whatever. But she is a damn star of a teen show, that's actually quite popular.

At least when Britney got pregnant..she was WITH K-Fed (where they already married?)..and was at LEAST over 18! We all know how that turned out.. but jeeze. C'mon.

These stories never really make me feel bad for these people, it makes me feel bad about these kids. They get to grow up in an environment in which who knows what they will be subjected to.

She's a fucking idiot. The issue isn't about premarital sex, it's about UNPROTECTED, UNDERAGE SEX.
There's no way Nickelodeon's going to pick her up again, it would be sending the wrong message to their target audience, something that I imagine's going to have parents go activist all over them. I wonder if Mama Spears can still have her children taken away at this age. Might be a good idea, since something's obviously wrong with this family.

I understand these 2 are boobs and she's way too young to be having a kid. But..there's soooo many people whom do get pregnant at an early age..Sadly. I don't think this is action to be taken away from your parents. You can only teach your kids so much and it's up to them if they want to listen.

I like how half of the replies are about her show on Nick.

Even Faux news went this route - they put up this big tagline "Little Spears is Preggers!" and the dumb blonde anchor-bitch is ranting about the decline of morality in America and Jamie Lynn should be taken off the air immediately and forever blah blah blah

It was a perfect encapsulation of everything wrong with America's psychotic attitudes about sex - sensationalize salicious behavior, reward it with media attention, commercialize it to make a buck, and then throw in some sanctimony to make the audience feel superior for supposedly being "above" the media they are greedily devouring.

Well, to be perfectly honest, it's no surprise that 16 year old girls and boys have sex. 25 years ago when I was 16, I had sex; 25 years before that 16 year olds had sex; Romeo and Juliet were 14 and 12, they had sex. Teenagers having sex is something that happens and will always happen...the problem is that we don't teach these kids how to be smart about what they're doing. It's obvious that saying "No" is a preposterous solution. You need snoopy, nosy parents who are willing to have their kids mad at them, teachers who aren't afraid to talk about sex and its outcomes.

All of that being said, it is obvious that the Spears clan is just so absolutely fucking over-the-top wacko that none of these things would make any difference anyway.

Because it wasn't rape, it was statutory rape. Those are two totally different things. Depending on where shes from, age of consent is most likely either 16 or 17. As long as the guy is 16 or 17, they wouldn't go after him. Has his age even been stated? Maybe shes the older party.

§80. Felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile

A. Felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile is committed when:

(1) A person who is nineteen years of age or older has sexual intercourse, with consent, with a person who is twelve years of age or older but less than seventeen years of age, when the victim is not the spouse of the offender;

The abortion clinic could be the responsible thing in this case. It all depends on how seriously the younger Spears is willing to take the situation that she's in. Accidents like this don't "happen" unless you are completely retarded. There is like a 0.0002% chance of getting pregnant if you use a condom and the pill. I guess it's not 100% foolproof but I find it extremely hard to believe that this one particular time the swimmers broke through. I'd be willing to bet they either only used a condom (which is completely irresponsible on her part) or used nothing at all and if I had to pick I'd guess they used nothing at all.

This reminds me of that one teacher in FL (Debra Lafave?) who had sex with one of her under age students and all she got was a slap on the wrist because she was hot, yet this other teacher has sex with a mexican boy, who runs away to mexico until the government bribes him into coming back to testify against the woman who raped him and gave him us citizenship for it.

Seriously this is some messed up shit.

I'll admit, this is amusing, but having sex with her boyfriend certainly doesn't make her a slut. Getting pregnant at 16 does make her stupid, though.

Now here's some funny stuff.

THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER WAS RIGHT - back in late July, the National Enquirer was the first to report that Jamie Lynn Spears was pregnant. They were promptly sued, even though now it seems they were correct (various sources say today she is much further along than the 12 weeks she claims). But awesome gets awesomer, as the NE is emailing people like me the angry letter they received when the story broke:

"Ms. Spears is a devout Christian with a spotless reputation, who lives in accordance with the highest moral and ethical standards in accordance with her faith.
There is no “rumor concerning Ms. Spears' (non-existent) pregnancy, except perhaps for the baseless rumor just now being created by the National Enquirer.
Ms. Spears is not pregnant. It is pathetic for the National Enquirer to attempt to create a wholly baseless rumor that Ms. Spears is pregnant, so it can run a malicious story and false story which would be emotionally devastating to a morally upright 16 year old girl."

Wait, so the National Enquirer was right once, and they got all defensive for someone printing a letter that turned out to be false? Whoa. "look at us! I can't believe they sent us this letter! Oh, and by the way, Tina Turner has herpes, Canada is sinking, the mayor took the cheeseburger, and Tom Selleck has three balls."

Not gonna happen. Now you might see a "I quit my job and got a better one" thread soon. The only way they can fire me is if I have sex with one of my students (not gonna happen), give drugs to one of my students (One teacher did a local high school near my school), or not have the proper certifications for contract renewal.

I watch too much to catch a predator :)

Besides someone else won the teacher of the year award :-P

I am guessing LA doesnt have the best Sex Education programs

Sex education found to help teenagers delay sex

Wed Dec 19, 5:36 PM ET

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Teenagers who have had formal sex education are far more likely to put off having sex, contradicting earlier studies on the effectiveness of such programs, U.S. researchers said on Wednesday.

They found teenage boys who had sex education in school were 71 percent less likely to have intercourse before age 15, and teen girls who had sex education were 59 percent less likely to have sex before age 15.

Sex education also increased the likelihood that teen boys would use contraceptives the first time they had sex, according to the study by researchers at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which was published in the Journal of Adolescent Health.

"Sex education seems to be working," Trisha Mueller, an epidemiologist with the CDC who led the study, said in a statement. "It seems to be especially effective for populations that are usually at high risk."

Mueller's team looked at a 2002 national survey of 2,019 teens aged 15 to 19.

They found teen boys who had sex education in school were nearly three times more likely to use birth control the first time they had intercourse. But sex education appeared to have no effect on whether teen girls used birth control, the researchers found.

Black teenage girls who had sex education in school were 91 percent less likely to have sex before age 15.

The researchers did not evaluate the content of sex education programs, including whether students were taught about contraception or about abstinence only.

Earlier studies, which relied on data from the 1970s through the 1990s, suggested sex education did little to persuade teens to delay sex.

The researchers said they think the difference may be that sex education in the United States is now more widespread and is being taught at earlier ages.

"Unlike many previous studies, our results suggest that sex education before first sex protects youth from engaging in sexual intercourse at an early age," they wrote.

She wasn't having sex with her "boyfriend" in the sense that they've been dating for months/years, in love, etc.

He was just the guy she was on at the time (Poor guy was caught with his pants down). She's been quoted as saying she has a lot of "guy friends".

Given the writer's strike, I wouldn't be surprised to see "Who's your Daddy?" as the new reality show in 4-5 months.

I take it you don't watch "talk shows". One woman had 38 guys tested and none of them were the father.

And if she was smart she would kill the thing now, but she's not so another fucked up kid is on the way.

things just got a lil more intersting

Friends have said that Jamie Lynn was no longer even seeing Casey - and family members told Star that they believe the real father is a much older executive at her children’s TV show ‘Zoey 101′.
“Casey is being paid off to be the family’s fall guy while the real father remains unidentified,” Star magazine insists.
The magazine quotes “two separate Spears family insiders” who believe the father is someone who works on Jamie Lynn’s kids’ show.

Maybe the executive was trying to create an audience for the show?
