Got my replacement Rock Band guitar today. And Joker and the Thief and Bang the Gong proceeded to destroy me. So basically I'm paying extra money for punishment. They should let you check out the difficulty of the song before you buy it.

Fire Pro is fun, mainly because the grapple system is great and you can create just about everything. And the AI puts up a good fight. If you button mash, you die in that game. I like that.

Good Uno matches tonight guys. That was a straight impulse buy, and it turned out to be fun. I played Uno two weeks ago with some friends, and I always have liked it. Plus, I got me some easy achievements. It's been a busy night, between getting whooped up by the only other person playing 3S online, getting 4th Kyu in VF5 online while getting whooped up by a bunch of dudes, and getting whooped up on by Chac in some Melty Blood.

Anyway, yeah, Melty Blood was legit, but I really gotta practice that shit outside of matches against people. I was much better in the Summer.

Dreamcast = awesome. I've got mine hooked up to my 21.6" LCD monitor via VGA cable, ready to go anytime. It has a 4:3 mode, and even 640x480 looks decent on it, so I can scratch that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 itch whenever. Or Project Justice. Or whatever.

oddly, this is the first Christmas I've had a ton of money thrown at me... never had Christmases where I ever got more than $100 of stuff, which I am fine with (helped me learn the value of a dollar quicker).

Due to this, I stupidly enough am going Wii hunting tommorow morning. I already have my research down to get one, now I gotta find it. Supposedly my local CompUSA has one, so since they are liquidating I may be lucky to get a discount.

Speaking of Wii, I picked up Ghost Squad and RE:UC on amazon along with Fire Pro and that Nyko Perfect Shot Wii Pistol. Those deals were just too tempting to pass up.

Finally finished COD4. Even on easy, there were a few very frustrating bits towards the end. The fact that I still think it's among the best shooters I've played this year (and quite possibly to date) really says something about its quality. Loved the story and the immersion.

Next up I'd like to finish is Uncharted.

Anyone else realize how awesome Air "Zonk" is? I also bought Bonk's Adventure like.. last year (LOL) and I'm just getting around to finishing it. This last level is hard. In fact, I'm on the last level in both Bonk and Zonk! The art in both games were just amazing..(yes, I realize they are both set in the same universe)

Well, my search for a Wii was crazy as fuck today, and I don't want to go into details since remembering it all will piss me off (mainly at BB). After a 6 hours of looking and a total fluke with moment of curiosity about some info, I landed a Wii!!!!! I probably won't be able to play it till Christmas due to some stuff, but I'm just glad I found one. I fnally don't have to worry about damn consoles anymore (thank god).

I left my 360 power cable at my apartment, but decided to try my ps3 one with the 360 power adapter to see if it would work. It does so it looks like I will be able to enjoy some 360 games over break. Started up blue dragon again, and I'm at the begining of disk 2. Will also be playing some GRAW 2 and Mass Effect.

I forget which size, but just unscrew the back and take out the battery and you can see the size on it. It's really easy, I did it a lot back when I was using it for Chao's

CR2032 batteries are what the VMU's take. If you don't plan on using them for minigames, you don't need to have batteries in them. They are really easy to replace; just unscrew the one screw holding the cover in place.I took them out long ago, and just recently used one to replace the one in my Saturn. The Dreamcast's internal battery is self charging. You have to power the system for 9 hours (I think) and then it will hold a charge for a while (3 months?). The instruction manual has the info.

Just finished up Chrono Cross. It was frustrating as hell trying to get the "good" ending by defeating the final boss but I finally managed to get it. So, when's the sequel coming? I'd love to see a remake of the original Chrono Trigger, but that probably won't happen until Square remakes all the Final Fantasies at least three more times. Sigh.

Eh, that video looks to be in terrible quality all around. In several scenes it looks very fuzzy and grainy for both versions. At least it looks like the PS3 version might be able to keep up with the frame rate for once.

the museum had a certain exhibit where they covered realms of interactive art (luckily one of my interactive collaboration art pieces was included as well!). they had an area where a nice TV was setup and wanted kids/adults to play "artsy" games at that place. They further contacted me on what games would have worked well for the area and after a few discussions we decided on a few titles. Since I already had all the ones they wanted I donated/let them borrow them to the museum. The exhibit went twice as long as planned due to its success, so that's why it took so long for me to get.

I actually like it. Sure it isn't a AAA game, but I think it's a pretty good game overall. I really like the graphics, the game play is pretty good/fun, the story could be better but what we have is ok, sound is pretty good as well. It wont have any replay value after I beat it but I plan on keeping it and adding it to my collection. I could do without the "time limit" so to say since it makes me want to keep rushing through the game so I don't die. Other then that really I think it's a good game and if they make a Lost Planet 2 I'd probably buy it. This is all IMO of course as I can see why people hate it, but for what I paid for it and having such low expectations going into it, this one has really surprised me.

Man, Saturn 3D looks rough as hell. Guardian Heroes and Dragon Force look fine, but games like Sega Rally, Virtual On, and Panzer Dragoon Saga just look ancient. Still good games though. I think I'll be playing some Dragon Force, Uncharted, and Puzzle Fighter with a friend tomorrow.

Played through all of Uncharted today. Can't remember the last time I sat and played a game from start to finish in one day.

Decided at the last moment to keep my PS3. Partly because my little cuz just got one and it's been one of his biggest wishes to game with via online and partly cuz . . . well I guess MGS4 eventually :lol:

Eh, and the rather small, but very good, PS3 exclusives that exist now and are coming out in the next few months.
Yeah, UC was the game that was going to get me to buy a Wii...but even if I got a Wii I doubt I'd get it at this point :-P

And Uncharted is maybe 10ish hours. Not too short. For what it is I think it's just about right. It was a little shorter for me because it's my 3rd playthrough btw.

Man, Saturn 3D looks rough as hell. Guardian Heroes and Dragon Force look fine, but games like Sega Rally, Virtual On, and Panzer Dragoon Saga just look ancient. Still good games though. I think I'll be playing some Dragon Force, Uncharted, and Puzzle Fighter with a friend tomorrow.

It helps a little, but not much. SSF is the most compatible emulator. It ran everything I threw at it just fine. 480i games like Fighting Vipers and Virtua Fighter 2 had an interlaced look to them , but everything else was fine. It's the only one that could run Panzer Dragoon Saga without graphical glitches or crashing. It's limited to 640x480. I tried to force AA, but it didn't do anything.

I ordered the Mass Effect book, NGBC, and Fire Pro Wrestling for $27 on amazon. Seemed like a good idea at the time. I hope I don't hate Fire Pro.

And then I used some trade credit to get the Marvel/Forza disc for $18 at gamestop, along with Freedom Fighters and Wipeout Pure for $4.50 each. Awesome cheapass stuff.

Forza is pretty awesome. I made a Packers themed car immediately.

You'll get the same value as the regular Halo 3. That's how Gamestop rolls, at least. I've traded in RE4 CE for PS2, Gears of War CE and Perfect Dark Zero CE and got the same amount I would've received for the regular editions.

No More Heroes is looking good on the latest 1up show. That'll probably be the next game I get, since Burnout Paradise and Nights managed to completely remove any interest I had in them before even being released. Great job.

My christmas weekend plans involve a zip file of 630 NES games I found on an old Backup CD-R of mine. Most of them are corrupted, probably over half, but I think it'll be fun to play each one for 5-10 min on the PSP, or however long I can stand them.

The more I look at it, the PS3 is has WAY more in common with the Saturn & Xbox than it ever did with the rest of the Playstation brand. Come to think of it, Sony itself is starting resemble pre-Dreamcast Sega.

:applause: I finally beat that bastard boss (DROOOL!!!) in Air Zonk last night. So the appropriate thing was to download Super Air Zonk. Hmmm. It's still a good game, but the game is different then the first. It's still pretty good, don't get me wrong, but there's something about it I'm not feeling. BUT like I said.. I am enjoying it. This one is actually harder I believe.

Besides how they changed the gameplay around a little..the one thing that kinda bothers me is that the graphics graphx don't like ANY different then the first one. Remember, Super Air Zonk is a TurbografxCD title, Air Zonk is a TG16. I expected it to be looking better..ESPECIALLY since the game is 175 blocks!! Air Zonk was only like 27. So for like a 150 more blocks it def doesn't LOOK like much more.

mmm, finally some time to play for a day without worrying about looming deadlines. Sunk in 3 hours into FFXII this morning. I'm close to the end, but now that my characters are around lvl 45, I'm gonna go explore all the places I pussied out on earlier in the game. Probably sink another 20 hours in before I beat it, then play it again when it runs perfectly in PCSX2. :D One thing about this FF, aside from the gameplay--I don't have a single clue what's happening in the story. The cutscenes are practically gibberish. Not that that's a bad thing, considering I usually just make fun of the stories in FF games anyway.

Considering picking up a copy of Ikaruga from GS...it always seems like a great idea to own that game, but after 3 years of playing it on and off, I still haven't made it past the 3rd chapter :lol:

Played a lot in the past two days with a friend. Played through half of Resistance on co-op, then half of X-men Legends on Co-op, then some co-op GRAW 2, and finished it off with some multiplayer Halo 3 and NBA 2k7. Still love co-op gaming.

I also played some more Blue Dragon. Still need to finish that and HL2 Episode 2. Don't know what I should play first tho, but it will probably be a mix of episode 2, blue dragon, Mass Effect (second playthrough), GRAW 2, SKATE, and Unreal Tournament when I get it in the mail.

I played about 3.5 hours of Mass Effect last night. I actually like it. I'm playing as a woman, and so far she's a cold hearted bitch. Now I'm driving around on planets with the vehicle, and it's giving me Off World Interceptor flashbacks. And I like the John Carpenter-esque soundtrack. I'n not buying it until the inevitable PC version is released, though.

Finished my 3rd playthrough of Mass Effect last night, getting my nerdpoints of completing Insanity. Like I imagined, I couldn't get to level 60 in that playthrough. 90,000 XP to go :\

I decided to jus beat Mario 64 last nite... 74 stars.

I like the level design in that game, MUCH more innovative than New Mario DS... plus they only include power ups in stages where u will need them to actually do something, another great plus.

what I dont like is the fact that it aint in 2D... that's why I decide to not even bother with the rest of the stages... but it's on my Wii for whenever I wanna boot it up again.

now to go back to Persona 2 after a few months of absence...

Just finished Assassins Creed, while it did get repetitive half way though the game, it finished strong with an awesome twist and a cliffhanger ending.
I hope they beef it up for Assassins Creed 2 next year.

Got lucky and found a $30 copy of Persona 3 at meijer while doing christmas shopping. Can't wait to dig into that one finally someday. I bought it at release and just never had time to play or even open it, sold it a few months ago for a slight profit, and always intended to re-buy.

Guess it's getting pretty scarce/in demand now, so I'm glad to have it.

I ate food at some family friends' place and those family friends happen to be Italian. We had hella lobster. Goddamn was that a lot of lobster. Erm... prolly gonna have hella lasagna one of these days too. Since that's actually an Italian thing.

On a side note, I found the absolute best deal on some electrostatic speakers that I'll ever find. Dear God, I cannot believe how cheap these are. I've been looking to replace my computer speakers with a stereo pair of good speakers, so I might end up getting these... phew. Overkill.

I put together a home theater for my parents just a few weeks ago and used an Onkyo SR705 for the receiver and it's been excellent. The 605 is close in terms of quality, so yeah, definitely recommend it, especially at that price.

I'd want at least 5, evenly matched, plus a sub. Somewhere in the neighborhood of $500 to $1000. It won't be until I get a regular job. I'd like to use them for a long time without wanting more from them. I'll pay more for quality, because I've learned about going cheap and getting junk.

- Get an SVS sub. Try to swing the 12" sub if you can.

- SVS also has great speakers

- AV123 has great speakers

- Axiom has great speakers

Agreed on the 605. I'm almost regretful that I didn't grab the black version for $365 on amazon a month or so ago. Of course, I'd have to shell out for good speakers and that would've stepped up the TCO considerably out of my budget that month.

The black 605 is $27 more than the silver one. I'd usually get the black one, but I kinda like the silver one, plus it's cheaper. Won't be able to order until Friday at the earliest, so I hope they stay the same price and don't go out of stock. I hadn't had a lot of luck looking for the game Lair on PS Triple, as it was sold out in every store I had called... luckily the 5th Gamestop I called had one copy in, so I quickly got my stuff together and hurried to the store hoping that no one would pick the game up before I reached the store.

I found a perfect parking spot -- right in front of the store. Seems like Lady Luck was smiling in my direction, huh? Not quite. I walked into Gamestop hearing Soulja Boy blasting on the failed Microsoft Zune and walked over to the PS Triple section only to find crap like Heavenly Sword, Folklore, and Clive Barker's Jericho.

Confused, as I had JUST called the store to confirm Lair was there, I started to panic... but then I saw a lone copy of Lair sitting on the bottom shelf, behind such gems as F.E.A.R. and Genji 2. There were only a few people in the store and my first reaction had been that one of those customers had picked up the last copy... luckily, that wasn't the case.

Thankfully, I'd finally gotten my hands on the game. I smiled and walked over to the counter with the clerk and plopped it down -- I didn't need to browse the rest of the store. I had what I needed now, after all.

This is where it got ugly. The clerk, a young man who was slightly overweight (obviously a weeaboo with his Naruto headband draped loosely across his neck) looked at me square in the eye and said, "Put that ****ing game back up on the shelf and walk out of the store."

Now, I couldn't tell if he was joking or not so I kind of chuckled and said, "Why?"

He looked at me again and said, "Cause it ****ing sucks that why, now put it back on that damn shelf before I make you regret it."

After he'd raised his voice, the other people in the store took notice and were obviously getting a bit uncomfortable... but I don't like to be made a spectacle of. I wasn't about to let this jerk get the better of me.

I stared at him and slammed my copy of Lair onto the counter and taunted, "I'd like this copy of Lair rung up, please."

Suddenly he whipped out a pistol and pointed right in my face. I was confused, but ready for him.

Was Lair a good enough game to kill over? Absolutely, according to reviews such as Play.

"Put Lair back up on that shelf, *****, or someone is about to die."

Now, I had a pistol pointed directly at my face... and I was sweating bullets. The few people in the store immediately ran out -- and I hope to God that they were getting some help or calling 911. I was wrong, though.

The "customers" came back into the store wearing Naruto gear with weapons of their own and pointed them at ME. This was an attack, I soon realized.

"Are all of you SERIOUS?!" I yelled.

They didn't move. Their weapons were still pointed directly at me and my beloved Lair.

"You don't know who you're messing with, do ya? I'm taking Lair home with ME... and this store will be stained with your BLOOD!" screamed the clerk.

That's when all hell broke loose.

I quickly struck the Gamestop employee in the throat and jumped over the counter to avoid the oncoming gunshots from the "customers." The clerk was my shield now. I slammed his face into the glass case behind us holding many Simpsons game copies. Hah, like anyone played that crap. I snapped his arm in three places -- he should have eaten more dairy as a kid because it was like a twig.

The other people in the store were firing wildly so I ducked behind the counter and the clerk had several holes in him. He was dying, and that was obvious. I stole his keys that he had attached to his pants loop and found the PS3 drawer. It didn't have very many games inside. What a shock. I spotted Lair, and I grabbed the Blu-Ray disc as fast I could... because I know my hand was visible at that point and open to being shot.

Remembering the employee's gun, I grabbed it only to realize it didn't have anymore shots left. This crappy store was going to be my tomb if I didn't think of something... and quick. That's when I saw an old XBOX sitting on the floor. This was my escape, and I had to make the most of it.

I popped out of my hiding spot and lifted the giant console up and threw it with all of my might and, luckily, it struck one of them -- crushing him as soon as it hit. Shots whizzed over my head as I ducked back down to rethink my escape. I kissed my Lair CD and used it as a mirror to see the other's locations. One right in the corner by the PSP games and UMD movies.

I sent my Lair copy flying and it found its mark. I threw it at such a force that it cut the thug in half as it tore through his midsection. Thank God for Lair.

The shotgun the thug had been holding dropped onto the floor and went off hitting the remaining thug right in the leg... blowing it to shreds. With his screams of pain ringing through my head, I dusted myself off and approached him. He wasn't a threat any longer.

"Please...please don't kill me"

"Then I want answers."

At that point, he was bleeding out and there was limited time.

"You... can't... we... Lair... reviews..."

I'd had enough. I don't give a DAMN what IGN or Gamespot had to say about my precious Lair. I picked up the shotgun and ended the thug's life.

I got my knife out of my pocket at cut into his abdomen... and used his blood to write a message on the wall -- for all to see.

"LAIR OF THE DEAD."

Blood was all over the general vicinity.

I walked out the back of the store to spot a Gamestop employee who had apparently been on a break during all of the mayhem not a few minutes ago.

He didn't take notice of me... until he saw Lair in my hands.

"What the **** do you think you're doing?!"

"Sending you to Gamestop Hell."

I slapped him as hard as I could with the Lair case and he collapsed right then and there. Dead.

Then I drove home and played some Lair. And what the hell was I thinking? This game isn't that good. At least it was free. =/ ______________________________________
