This is all this game is worth, it's a horrible sequel, but not bad for $15.

I recommend it at this price, but don't go expecting a superior game to its predecessor.

Definitely worth it. If I didn't already have it, I'd be all over it. But I have Prime so shipping is free. If it wasn't free, I'd pick it up if there was something else you wanted...

This was shorter than I expected, but it's a worthy sequel and a lot of fun. Excellent price on a great game, I'm honestly surprised to see the few negative posts there are about it.

yoshi's story for the n64 gets ripped apart, but all that seemed like to me was an easier, shorter version of this minus baby mario...i still dont get why this game is held with such high praise, its solid, but the nuisances make it a 7 on the rating scale for me instead of a 9

I suppose that in terms of merely beating the game it is indeed rather short...

But trying to score 100 on each stage (and thereby unlock the incredibly awesome bonus stages) is one of the hardest challenges ever found in a platformer, regardless of system. Seriously. It's a challenge that makes little kids cry in the night...

I've probably put over two dozen hours into the game, and still have a few stages left to 100. Anyone who has actually attempted those challenges would agree with me that it offers an insane replay value.

IMO, it's so totally worth the price, even though it never quite rises to the level of the original (though it's MUCH more challenging).

The original is one of the greatest games of all time. Yoshi's Island 2 isn't as good as part 1, but even falling short of perfection this one is still a very good game.

It's certainly way better than Yoshi's Story, that's for sure.

Definately worth it at $15. The is the sequel we should have got years ago.

It sounds like the complaints are mostly that this sequel plays it too safe, the dead space between screens causes headaches (just like Contra 4), and the later levels are too difficult. None of that is a deal-breaker for me. :)

Did someone actually say the original is "overrated"? One of the best platform games of all time? I've never played the DS sequel, and this price is fantastic, but I've spent too much and have too many games for now. I guess I'll have to pass on this deal, but not willingly....

I was a huge fan of the original (still have the cart), so I scooped this one up as fast as I could. This is totally not a port. Artoon made a whole new game, including adding new characters in, each with their own ability.

The whole time you play it, there's something in the back of your mind that keeps saying "something's not right", but you can never quite put your finger on it. The biggest gripe, for me, was that the original game had these beautiful handdrawn looking levels. In this game, the first four or five levels feel like that, and then everything suddenly feels like it was just "quickly created w/ basic tile level design" and that beauty goes away.

It's not a bad game, but for somebody who played the original to death, they may get continually nagged by it. I sold mine the moment I beat it. (Seriously. Within five minutes I had the camera out, putting it on eBay.)

Yeah, they always have been trustworthy... Up until now. And it's not just Penny Arcade. It's also Kotaku, 1up.com, and pretty much everybody in the industry. Keep going there if you like, but I say fudge 'em.
