It is a pretty good game, I loved it and hope for a sequel. It's a shame it was overlooked due to the Halo 3 beta it included; some people bought it just for that and tossed Crackdown to EB/GS. That's why it trades in for $3 now...

Great deal for a solid fun game. If I hadn't gotten the full effect of the game through rental I'd be all over this

Yeah I got this cheap right after the beta was over. Great game. The Keys to the City cheat mode is perfect if you just want to jump in and wreak havoc.

But the paid DLC isn't worth it.

I thought the DLC was worth it for the "Batmobile" -like vehicle alone. Really fun game!

Nah, the Harpoon FTW. :D I'm gonna have to go back to it after I'm done with Assassin's Creed.

IMO, Crackdown was one of the more impressive games of 2007. Sure, depth wasn't very strong, but the game is just fun in general and the cel-shaded style graphics were done about as well as I've seen in any game. If you have XBL and a buddy, then you can do some fun co-op missions, as well. Highly recommended for under 20 bones.

Glad I picked this up back when CompUSA had it for real cheap (I believe it was for like $14.99?) It is really fun when you just want to run around and terrorize citizens while shooting and blowing things up.

Halo 3 Beta Featuring Crackdown is one of the better 360 games, especially if you have someone to play Co-op with.

fun game, but replay value isnt the best once you complete all missions. unless you want all achievements and to find every orb. i wish they had a online vs mode rather than co-op, but a steal at $20 if you never played it. got it for $50 on launch and it was good back then

MetalBuu
12-22-2007, 05:42 PM
Are you able to play online co-op with strangers or do you need to have their XBL name? I'm getting a 360 for Christmas, so I'm not sure how all the online factors work.

One of the most surprising great games I've played. Picked it up for the Halo 3 Beta and ended up with an awesome game.

If you don't already have it, this is one of the best ways I can think of to spend 20 bucks.

I picked this up last month and just started to play it and just couldn't put it down. Just beat all the bosses and still have so much to do. Well worth $20.

The only thing that sucks is that I read there isn't going to be a sequel do to the studio starting on another game. :(

I jumped on this. Added a $6 kids book my wife had on our wishlist for free shipping.

This is one of the reasons why I sold my PS3 (60GB that I bought for $410 this summer and sold recently--still sealed--for $650) . . . there are so many good and cheap 360 games to play now.

I'll get another PS3 in a year or two when there are more good and cheap games.

I bought this game from Play-Asia when is was $29.90 so I could play the Halo 3 beta and at the time it was still $59.99 everywhere else. Well, now that Halo 3 is out, I can unequivocally say that I enjoyed Crackdown more than Halo 3.

I agree with pretty much everyone here. Definitely a sleeper hit in my books. I dropped 15 hours in it while I was still in the middle of playing Twilight Princess, which is definitely saying something for me. I ended up maxing out my character (my definition of beating the game), but I may go back and get those last few agility orbs. Think GTA + superpowers. :)

Paying for this game at $20 is a steal! Im currently playing the game to get as many achievements as I can, I forgot how fun this game was back when it first came out. Would I have waited a little bit more for the price to go down? Yes, but it was still worth every dollar spent when it first came out.

Its been confirmed months ago that there will be no sequel to Crackdown because Microsoft asked them too late and that they are already working on other games.

Yeah but the good news is (unless they've shelved it in the mean time) the game they are working on is like an online GTA which should be pretty cool in it's own right. Besides, whos to say they don't make another Crackdown afterward?

As for Crackdown, I seriously loved this game and even more so once the DLC was out. Like an idiot I sold it right around the time the Halo 3 beta ended (although that had nothing to do with it) so I got shit trade in value for a game I loved playing. Needless to say, when I saw it for $20 on Amazon, I pulled the trigger once again. Maybe now I will find the rest of those fucking orbs....

Halo 3 > Crackdown

This game isn't bad, but there is virtually no plot whatsoever. All it is is "shoot the mexicans, now shoot the Russians, and now shoot the Chinese". Co-Op is this game's saving grace.

Crackdown is a throw-back style game. Reminds me of the way the old-school games used to play and I dig that. Story? I don't need to stinkin' story as long as I get to bring the noise with a grenade launcher.

Amazon is a LOT better than circuit city. They actually respond to customer service inquiries. I tried to get a pricematch on a couple games I bought online at circuitycity.com, and it was a nightmare. They didn't respond to my e-mails for a week. I finally ended up calling yesterday evening. 1st call I was bounced around a queue and hung up on. 2nd time, the guy was barely understandable. The first minute of the call he didn't even talk. After that, it took him 5 minutes to get my name. He told me I should return and re-purchase the games in-store, which I said wasn't an option. Next, he put me on hold to find out how to do a pricematch for online purchases. *CLICK* hung up on. 3rd time's a charm. I finally got a CSR who spoke some decent English. It took her about 30 minutes to figure out how to do the pricematch. When I told her I had an identical order with the same games, she told me that they only pricematch on one of any iitem. I called "shenanigans" and told her the policy doesn't state that. 10 minutes later, she put in a pricematch request for the 2nd order. Now I have to wait 7-14 days for the credit to show up, assuming they did it correctly.

Keep in mind, this is for games all purchased through circuitcity's website. The experience was bad enough that I'd avoid buying online again. They have great prices, but don't expect decent customer service.

In contrast, Amazon has a nice customer service form with drop-down options where they generally respond within 24-48 hours.

Props to Amazon this holiday shopping season...boo's to CircuitCity. I'm done with my rant and discussing off topic :)

Same here. I finished the game and maxed everything out, but never erased my game save. Crackdown is hands down the most fun I've had with a game this generation, and I'm considering buying it again just to have it in my collection. Jumping from rooftop to rooftop mowing destroying gang members is so much fun. I can't recommend this game enough for those that haven't given it a shot yet. BUY IT!

wow, that sucks man. sorry to hear about that. ive never tried to pricematch via their online contact so ive never run into that problem. luckily theres a store near me so i can just swing by and have them do it there. i can see how not having one near you & having to do it over the phone could be very frustrating. considering their employee cutbacks, i wouldnt be surprised if it was a call center in india or the philippines. luckily management isnt one area they cut back in, so asking for a manager at the help desk usually works at the brick & mortor location. thanks for the info though, probably saved some ppl a headache. :)

This was a really fun game. I got it when it first came out and really enjoyed it. As people have already stated in this game, there is not much of a story, but the gameplay is addictive; jumping off of tall buildings, throwing cars at people, etc. It is silly at times, but certainly worth picking up at this price.

Crackdown destroys Saints Row. You're basically the Incredible Hulk with weapons, bounding over rooftops and mountains on your way to slaughtering heavily guarded Kingpins in any order you wish. You have free reign, and the game has no limits on where you can go. Every structure can be reached, no matter how high it may be.
