My wii connects fine, but then when i don't use it for about 3 days or so(the average time between plays) and then i try to send a friend a message or acess the shop channel, it shows the error message 52030. I don't get this. When i power cycle my router(unplug, plug back) it connects fine. This happens everytime, and im tired of it now. I am using the Di-524 router, with WPA 64 digits, and 33 ssid. . what's wrong?

Did a quick Google search and most people recommend setting the router to mixed mode when using a Wii for better connection results.

Also people mentioned firmware updates helping with connection issues.

^He says he's using the shop channel so he would have to have the latest firmware.

Maybe change the router's channel to 1 or 11?

I think he meant the router's firmware, not the wii's.

it's on channel 11, and i have the current router firmware. I don't know what's up.

Have you tried setting up a static IP for the Wii, and manually entering the DNS? I had the same problem with my DS (and my Wii was painfully slow on the same connection) but once I did that, both work like a charm.

I would second nuttyturnip's suggestion about manually configuring the ip address of the wii along with entering in the DNS servers for your internet service provider. Although it's initially a pain, your router may be finicky about reassigning an IP address to the Wii. Then again, i've never been a huge fan of DHCP with automatically assigned addresses, so I tend to be a bit biased about these things.

Try deleting and re-entering your settings. The Wii's online is so damn finicky for our router at home but works fine with my router back at school.

I got so tired of dealing with the Wii Wifi that I bought a USB lan connector and just connect straight into my router with no problems. Nintendo just can't seem to get their online community going in the right direction.

i tried setting a static ip on the router, but set the wii to manually receive a ip address. it didn't work. I reset the router yesterday, and lost connection today. It's always 52030. Maybe i should just make it to receive a dynamic address again and make the dhcp lease time to one day. Would that help?
