Hey, awhile back, I won a bid for a Japanese, Yu-Gi-Oh, GBA game with all three God cards on ebay. It cost me $32 and I sent it in as a money order. This was my first ebay auction, but I thought I was doing pretty good. The guy that I was selling it to, made me think I was doing something wrong. He was sending me emails asking where I sent it, how I sent it, all this stuff like he was afraid he wasn't gonna get the money. I always replied to his emails as best as I could. But, one day, he stopped emailing me. And my game never came, it's too late now obviously, but if I wanted to bid on there again, and something like this happened, what could I do?

For having the word master in your username, you sure don't know much.

Make sure the seller has relatively high feedback, or don't use money order. PayPal is usually the way to go.

Hey, I don't have Ebay in front of master, do I? But, I do have Xbox in front, therefore I am the XboxMaster, not the EbayMaster, dumbass.

I'm pretty sure you can report the guy somewhere on the site and get him banned and such. For your money, you might be screwed.

Take the receipt from the money order to the place where you purchased it and tell them you'd like a refund.

Well if it had 3 games on one cart it wasn't legit. So you were buying a pirated cart in the first place. I don't think I'd pursue a refund if I were you.

make sure you ALWAYS use PayPal........its the only way you can have some form of a safe payment between a buyer and seller

Be warned, just because you use PayPal doesn't mean you are home free.
I "won" an eBay auction for a Wario Ware game and the guy wound up being a deadbeat.
His feedback wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. I admit I wasn't paying close attention like I normally do.
Anyway, after I complained to PayPal, they told me they were unable to get me back my funds so I'm out 10 bones.

Check feedback.
Pay with PayPal and use a credit card to make the payment (not a bank transfer). If there is fraud involved you can get your money back from your credit card company.
The main thing is to check feedback and also see how long the person has been a user of eBay.

I've been ripped off too. I bought a game off there, and it was advertised as "mint", but when I got it, it looked like someone went over it with sandpaper it was so scratched up. I've also won some GBA Castlevanias, only to discover they were fakes. Ebay's rulse protect the seller - there's not much a disgruntled buyer can do about rip off artists. From now on, I'll stick to buying games in stores or major online shops. I may have to pay more, but at least I'll have a guarantee that I will receive exactly what I bought. In all cases, the feedback of the sellers was near perfect, so you can't always go by feedback alone.

He said it had the 3 CARDS in it...these are YGO game cards and not games themselves. I am sure it was a legit game...just not a legit seller.
As said dozens of times...CHECK FEEDBACK!

yeah I never bid on some one with more then 3 negatives or with a rating less then 20. I never want the item that bad, I pass on the auction and wait for another to show up.

Man, I must be lucky when it comes to Ebay. 7 bids, 7 wins, no scams. Althought one guy was not honest to me. It turned out the DVD I got was censored with mosaic. I sold it to my friend and then bought the Armitage 2 disk set.
They are right though...ALWAYS check feedback.

I've never gotten scammed in EBay and here's hoping I don't ever... what I try to do is keep my BS meter on at all times - check the location of the seller if its a physical place within the US not some slang name. Also, an abundance of spelling or grammar errors on the auction itself is a big warning sign to me. And most of all I find if the deal is too good to be true it usually is. Feedback is also a good indicator but I've read stories of people that hacked into honest user's accounts and were able to con people out of thousands of dollars.

I must be lucky also. About 150 auctions over 3 years, not a single hitch.

I too can say I've been very lucky with ebay but a few times I started to wonder. Like magilacudy said though, I try to keep my BS meter on "high". And as far as Paypal goes, ebay owns them so you never know whats gonna happen with them next....
