I finally called them after getting no response to my email. My package was shipped out via FedEx, and is supposed to arrive today, according to the tracking # they gave me.

Yep. Both of them are in pretty good condition. Box is in good shape and disc has barely any scratches on it.

5 of the 6 games I ordered showed up yesterday. All in individual envelopes. All of the discs were in very nice shape with a couple that looked like they were untouched. Cases and manuals were perfect. Now I wish I would have jumped on a few of the games that sold out quickly. Oh well...
FYI I ordered 12/28 & 12/29.

Got Virtua Tennis 3 and The Bigs today. Ordered the 31st, shipped on the 2nd. Correct cases and manuals. These are clearly new games--no scratches at all. It looks like they slit open the security tape just to insert their little flyer.

Elebits for the Wii, Lair for the PS3 and five 360 games. All don't work. :bomb:
All of them have some nasty scratches on them, and the 360 games in particular look screwed up, as the discs all have chunks taken out of the edge of the disc. :bomb:

Shit, sorry to hear that Shrike. As soon as I read your Lair wasn't working, I went to see if mine worked, hell I hadn't even taken out of the case. With all the disappointed people here, I was surprised that the case, manual and disc are in flawless condition, I even got the $15 off a PSP promo in it. I am trying it out as I type this and it is working w/ no problems. Hope you get everything fixed dude.
PS- Wow, I'm really digging this game. All the negative press it got kept me away from purchasing it, but I'm really having a blast. Yeah the controls are a bit wierd, but once you get the hang of it, it really is appealing.

Wow thats especially bad.
Still waiting on my games that I ordered on the 1st here. I only live a few hours from the shipping center so I don't know what the hell is taking so long.

My order of seven games supposedly shipped on 12/26/07, and I've not seen it yet. Coming from the LA Warehouse, from the email I was sent.
I've emailed them and asked for shipping information from my order.
3-5 days my ass. :wall:
Could be worse. I ordered roughly the same amount of games and when I checked the status this morning, they were canceled. This was at the beginning of the sale. No e-mail. No warning. Nothing.
This is especially annoying since I got Odin Sphere for X-Mas and already returned it waiting on my Gamefly copy... that will likely never come now. I can't believe the fact that I got charged and not even an e-mail to explain the cancellation.
This is highly unlike Gamefly.
Edit: Continued to read your story and yeah... just as frustrating to get games that are broken...

The last game I ordered came today. Two Worlds. I knew the reviews were very bad, but WOW, I didn't realize a game can be this horrible. It downloaded a huge patch when it started, but its clear nothing can fix this game. Isn't this game trading in for a decent amount at GS/EB? Might have to get rid of this ASAP.

I have heard EVERYONE say that TW is god-awful but why is it so awful?

Download the demo. Seriously, I downloaded it, ran up to the 1st 3 guys you are supposed to fight and after about 5 seconds of the combat I hit the 360 button and dumped to the dashboard to delete the demo.
Figured for $10 from gamefly I'd give it another shot since I heard it was patched. I played about 5 minutes this time. Controls are bad, inventory system is bad, combat very bad, and the game pops to a loading screen randomly in the middle of play regardless of what you are doing. bad bad bad.
Who cares? Just get $32 for it. ;)
Where is it trading in for that much?
EDIT: Wow I didn't realize how large of a discount they were giving on these games during the sale. They have Two Worlds for $29.99 used now. Anyone who purchased this for full retail I really feel sorry for.

Well, after no response to my e-mail I called them. They can't correct my issue (12 games they charged me for, then canceled for no reason). They said they e-mailed me (at an invalid e-mail). I asked why they asked for a phone number and didn't call. They then indicated they called once. No voice mail. I checked my call log and with my provider and verified that no one called on 12/26 as they indicated. I asked why they didn't leave a voice mail, especially since they already charged me and it went through. They lied again indicating that the number does not have voice mail.
After tons of waiting, I was eventually told all they could do was give me $10 of Gamefly bucks. They couldn't restore the order they JUST canceled (for no reason) and wouldn't even attempt to let me get any of the games I ordered at the price I ordered them for.
After speaking with a manager, it got worse. Initially, the person I spoke with offered up (before I even got to the fact that my order was on day #1 of the sale) that my order may have been canceled because they ran out of inventory --- wrong thing to say to me, especially my no reason for cancellation.
I then spoke with a manager. Still no help or assistance in getting me what I ordered and was charged for. I mentioned that any credit doesn't even help an attempt to reorder items who are (1) no longer in stock (2) have changed in price and (3) now charge shipping. The final result was being lied to some more about stock/inventory ("there's no way it could have been canceled because we ran out...." then indicating that, despite it just being canceled and never going back up for sale--- you can't even attempt to give me the items).
I will never be shopping at Gamefly and urge anyone who can to cancel. This is horrible customer service and a blatant bait and switch. The BS about the holding my order (there are children!) is also a joke. The +4 thing given to other CAGs who ordered "rare" games also was a joke.
I think I'll be reporting this to the BBB.

I would most certainly be pissed off in your situation, but I highly doubt it is grounds for everyone on here to cancel their GF memberships or never buy anything from them again. Not for nothing, but I have never received anything but top-notch service from them. Also, calling this a bait and switch situation is beyond harsh. They didn't commit fraud. They screwed up, and rather than admitting it and giving you what they should, they gave your the run around.
Again, I feel for you, and if that happened to me, I would probably never deal with GF again. But it's not enough for us all to run for the hills.

Given the status of several of the other orders (chipped discs?), this seems to be a start of a disturbing trend. They charged me. Rather than correcting their error, they went out of their way to NOT assist me in fixing my order, but getting me to take credit to get something ELSE. There's far more detail to my story that most people would never read, but definitely a complete 180 from past experiences and bad enough to make sure I let everyone know about it.
Edit: To make matters worse, no one even attempted to even FIX the issue. Not once during any correspondence did I even get a "let's see what we can do about this order..." Or even an attempt to put together what they could for it. That's the worst part.

Well, I am a bit confused here, to be honest. They charged you. They obviously credited your card, right? I mean, you're not paying for games you never were shipped, correct? I mean, obviously, if they charged for stuff they never sent you and refuse to refund your money, that's more than enough to file a complaint with whoever you want. That is a crime. But if all they did was charge your card, screw up, and credit your account, you certainly have the right to be mad, but it certainly isn't fraud or anything. It's just bad business. Again, I'm a bit confused, so excuse my ignorance.
As far as chipped discs go, I haven't read the whole topic, so I missed that. I would think it's an isolated incident, as well. GameFly is pretty good about inspecting discs and taking non-working ones out of the rotation. Don't get me wrong: I've rented some pretty banged up discs before...but they worked. That's all GF guarantees...is that the disc will work...not that it is great, good, or even fair shape.
In the end, GameFly has been around for...what now...5 or 6 years? They have been pretty successful and continue to grow, evident by their recent opening of a third distribution center. Like I said before, I don't blame you one bit for being EXTREMELY pissed off and not ever wanting to give them a dollar of your money again. Still, a company should not be judged by one or a handful of bad incidents. This happens. No company has a 100% rate of success when it comes to customer service.

Big: Actually, not all of the games have been credited back to my credit card yet, so it makes matters even more confusing/annoying.
To make matters worse, their "e-mail team" has not yet gotten back to me from BEFORE I made the call...
