View Full Version : Prince of Persia one of the best Xbox games ever?
So I finally got around to getting Prince of Persia (waited for the price drop) and I'm just now playing it. Holy crap, this game rules! I had no idea how good it was. Yeah, I'd read the reviews and all my friends said it was good, but I didn't realize HOW good until I played it myself. This is the same way I felt about Halo and Crimson Skies and PGR 2 - games that are so damn good that the word "good" is a ridiculous understatement.
I suggest anyone who owns an Xbox go pick up POP for $15 - $20. It's worth $50, definitely. It's worth the money just for the memories of playing Prince of Persia on old Macs when I was in grade school. I'd rate this game a 9.8 out of 10. Nearly perfect.

it's a great game if you enjoy falling to your death over and over :)

It's an awesome game, but it gets repetitive after awhile. There are only so many different ways you can push a box around and flip on a pole.

You only fall to your death over and over again if you really suck. Once you get used to it and get good, you can avoid death all together. Great game, I got it when it was released. Plus it has the original PoP and PoP2 on there. Excellent game.

It is an amazing game. A refreshing change from the usual action fare.

See, I made a mistake. I rented and beat this game just after playing through Ninja Gaiden. With all of its overrated camera problems, NG is just a far superior game in the action adventure series.
Dont get me wrong, I enjoyed PoP, but I highly doubt I would play it again, which to me is the ultimate factor of whether or not I want to buy something. As good as it was, it was repetitive. The combat got real old, real quick. Still, I recommend it for a rental or say, a $10-15 purchase...

yeah i liked POP, but the major complaint is that it gets reptitive , and the fighting style gets old fast also.... but apparently thats whats new in pop 2 so.. it will be interesting to see how that game holds up... looks promising

I truly enjoyed PoP...there were some good challenges and some not so obvious problem solving. But I really liked the game. May play it through in the future...
But NOTHING compares to Ninja Gaiden!

cure for the repetitive problem: bash the controller into your head five times after every 5 pole swings and every 5 box pushes...you eventually start to forget what you just did and everything seems new

The ending is one of the coolest I have seen on any system too.

Yep, my problem was also that I played it after Ninja Gaiden. It was much too sluggish and repetitive, although it was fun for a bit. But NG is much better. Speaking of that, I should play through that game again...

If someone has already said it the best, there's no need to say anything more!

It was a great experience but the replay value is about zero, but then I felt the same way about Ninja Gaiden which I beat around the same time. Still I would rather have a jaw dropping run through a game then multiple tedious experiences just to say the game is completly done.
Oh and i'll agree, POP had the best ending ever =)
