The only real problem I see with the PS2 version is no downloadable content. the initial investment seems more worthwhile when you know you'll be able to keep it fresh all through the next year at least.

and you can't even play music on it. The instrument boxes are just packed with rocks and a little note that says "haha I got you good you fucker! Love, EA"

The lack of Band World Tour is the worst part of this version. After I'd put about 48 hours into Rock Band, playing Band World Tour reignited the feeling I got when I first played normal, non World Tour multiplayer. So I would say the real meat of the game is Band World Tour.
