2007 is almost done! alot of great deals, and unfortunately alot of bad deals as well. i thought it'd be fun to share or recap what we've bought throughout the year! i know alot of thought could be put on posting your own list.. but i guess thats just part of the fun :D. this is just another bragging rights thread i suppose..
Best Deal(s) of the Year:
Got these during the extra 33% off clearance sale at CC
-Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth $5.xx
-Final Fantasy XI w/ HDD bundle (x4!) $11.82
-FF Chocobo Tales (free, she forgot to ring it up :)
DDR Mario Mix - $21.97 @ Sears
Blockbuster coupon glitch, 5 games for $25!
Best B&M store:
Kmart - without a doubt again! i have bought so many cheap ass games at that store than all the other stores combined this year!
Best Online store:
amazon.com - they really came through very strong this year for me before christmas.. so many great deals, so little money to spend :(
im broke, thanks kmart and amazon!
Best trade-in deal:
Micro Center - their trade 9 random games and get $25 was awesome. i was able to get rid of really crappy, disc only games!
Game Crazy - the extra 40% bump earlier this year was THE BEST trade in deal i've gotten this year so far. they paid me $44 for a used Trauma Center Wii!
Best CAG Trade:
DDS 1 Deluxe & Growlanser Deluxe - both new, sealed!
Worst Deal(s) of the Year:
i forgot about this, but KHOLS.COM's B2G1 free. ZOMG prices makes you want to burn their store to the ground. f'kin $89.99 for Madden 08? no thanks!
Gamestop - they sell the Wii Zapper $5 more than retail. day after christmas sale: $5 off Wii Zapper, bringing it down to $19.99 which is the retail price!
kmart in nyc - my brother tells me that one store sells the Wii Zapper for a whopping $44.99.
ebay - I bought a bunch of promo items from a guy on ebay and didnt realize i paid so much for them until i received the items. Oh well..
Worst B&M store:
Gamestop - 1 store wanted me to preorder 5 games to get a penny guide. shame.
Sears - for their unfriendly employees at their electronic departments.. they either turn/walk away when you wanted something to be price checked, or they are never there for them to open the cases.
Worst Online store:
Kmart.com - as much as i love the deals at their B&M stores, the website has few deals. and when they do and they make a mistake, they dont fix them. Their policy: no exchages, just returns.
GameQuestDirect.com - i have never ordered anything from their site. but their supposed "deals" were only temporary to win back cags.
Worst trade-in deal:
Odama @ Game Crazy for $4.94, paid $12 at Kmart
Advent Rising - .89 paid $4.99 at CC (its not too bad actually)
Worst CAG Trade:
Grandia III sealed for a few promo items, i initiated the trade

Total cost: $244 after tax.

GameRush, though I know most people will disagree. I figure this is the most subjective category, since shopping experiences are YMMV.
Best Online store:
Amazon.com - They're always reliable.
Best trade-in deal:
Blockbuster's $5 bonus. It just adds up (after several hundred games).
Worst Deal(s) of the Year:
GameStop's Wii raincheck program. It would have been great if they started at least six months earlier.
Worst B&M store:
Circuit City - The Speedy Incident, not honoring their giftcard promises, 1 person on register at any given time... just terrible.
Worst Online store:
GameQuestDirect.com - I know they tried winning us back, but it doesn't seem like they really changed...
Worst trade-in deal:
GameStop's hardware trade in bonus coupons (extra $20 for trading in a Wii? Yeah, that sounds great...)

Worst Deal(s) of the Year: Circuit City's Buy Call of Duty 4 Xbox 360 and get Call of Duty 3 Xbox 360 free because most stores only had a few copies of Call of Duty 3 so that pissed me off also because when I tried to buy it early they wouldn't let me because the ad stated it would be there by 2 p.m. but the stores would sell Call of Duty 4 until 2 p.m.

Worst Deal(s) of the Year:
Anything that was buy 3 get one free at TRU.
Found FF:ROTS for 2.54 for the 360 on clearance at Target. Computer screen indicated that is it not to be sold. Management did not want to sell it to me. However another copy of the game was found with new UPC sticker ontop of it ringing up 19.99. Manager (Collin) said the game was being recalled on all systems (including the gamecube  )and he couldn't sell any of it. I then said "So your willing to sell me the game for 19.99 but not for 2.54 on clearance?". He then realized he fucked up trying to scam me and gave it to me at 2.54. Checked a week later and found that the "recalled" games were still on the sales floor at 19.99. Left more pissed then happy.

Some cags reported that complaining to HQ got them not only CoD3, but a few other games for free (like PGR4!) :-O. That whole deal was a sloppy mess. When I talked to a manager about this, she compared the deal to the Wii situation. WTF!?!? Plus when I called HQ, they stated that no supervisor was on duty.. another WTF!??!!?

So, did everyone forget about the Best Buy clearance sale where the games were $2-$10 way back in jan or feb if I remember correct. This was one of the best deals for all cags as bb is everywhere. Whether you were buying to play or to flip this sale rocked.
And I know this 1 goes against most cags opinions but at the end of the year gs was pretty good on the e-mail coupons. I mean I picked up 5 free gamecube games off the buy a cube get a game free deal. And actually made a couple bucks selling the cubes via craigslist to some very uninformed people.

someone mentioned it ^^^. the problem with this sale was it leaked EVERYWHERE. so cags had very little to grab if not none at all.. some reporting that there were campers before the store was even opened.. and some stated they spoke to employees and they all had first dibs on all of the games being cleared out. it was pure luck to get anything.

they also did give some people hell for those coupons. i mean if a company sends out coupons, local stores should get a notice about them and be aware of their use. alot of people got denied because they didnt think the 30% coupon was real. they always make their policy on-the-fly.. its more interesting that way.

Best Deal(s) of the Year: Best Buy's clearance sale at the beginning of the year (I got Sukioden V for $1.99 among others!), followed by Blockbuster's clearance sale (ex: Capcom Collection Vol. 1 & 2 for 50% off), the various 60% Off/clearance sales at Best Buy (Okami, Excite Truck & Trauma Center for next to nothing prices!), Gamestop's coupon for "Buy 3 at 25% off" (got Crackdown, Sonic & The Secret Rings & Zelda: Twilight Princess Wii for less than $100), the recent Circuit City clearance prices (Project Sylpheed, Metal Slug Anthology Wii, Elebits and other Wii games for $16.96? OK!!)
Best B&M store: Best Buy, hands down. You can walk into any store and find a good deal. HH Gregg is great too for TV's/DVD (got a DTV for less than $200 the other day!)
Best Online store: Amazon.com. Although their "10 Deals of Christmas" was very disappointing
Best trade-in deal: Not sure if this would count, but I did get a Sega Saturn with games (including Guardian Heroes) for $20 during my yard sale adventures
Best CAG trade: I don't trade on here, sorry
Worst Deal(s) of the Year: Gamestop "Game Days" sale (when is a deal not a deal? When you buy crap games), their recent "B2G1F" sale (Jesus, don't these dumb-ass kids have HOMES??? Why are they wanting fuckin' High School Musical? Why is everything nearly gone?), the Blockbuster "5 for $25" deal (especially when you rudely get told the coupon's a fake and one of the associates seem to take great joy in that), Circuit City Black Friday for their LONG-ASS lines & the speedy incident
Worst B&M store: Blockbuster followed by Gamestop and Circuit City on general principle
Worst Online store: KB Toys. Too much for shipping

Burned by Cheapy D himself... that's gotta sting.
Does the BB coupon (5 for $25) actually count as a deal since it was more of a glitch than an actual deal?
For the most part, glitches do count as deals for most CAGs (a lot will vouch for that CC PC game thing a year or two back). Also, it was a real coupon, but somehow corporate overlooked something called the internet and let the coupon remain valid nationwide. Not intentional, but not a glitch.

There was a BB coupon leaked onto the internet that allowed a person to buy 5 used games for $25 (kinda like they do for used DVDs all the time). The barcode actually scanned and some lucky CAGs were able to use it to clean up on great deals. There was no limit on systems or titles.
The coupon worked for about half a day until corporate sent an e-mail to all of the stores not to accept it.

Blockbuster coupon glitch 5 games for $25 = Sucks I only got to use it once... Only "deal" this year that sent me out in a frenzy to try to hit a store before they closed. :D
Best B&M store:
Blockbuster/Gamerush stupid trade values/abuses = less than half price DS, Wii, PS3 pile of games and stuff sold this year.
Best Online store:
Nothing really comes to mind.... I didn't buy alot online this year but Best Buy because they saved me from having to wait in line for all the BF dvd set deals....?
Best trade-in deal:
GR/BB trade values as a whole
Deal = GS 30% bonus coupon + 10% Edge bump on trades.
Best CAG Trade:
New Mass Effect and $10 for a sealed Halo 3 Legendary Edition set.
Mass Effect cost me MAYBE $25 at the time using guess what GR credit lol.
Worst Deal(s) of the Year:
Ummm? Wii Zapper at Gamestop, SAVE $5 sale making it MSRP!! I bought one though since I had GS credit. :D
Worst B&M store:
Circuit City, I f'n hate walking into this store. Nothing to do with Speedy it took a big deal to get me in even before that.
Worst Online store:
??? Gamestop from what I hear, I don't shop there since everything is probably gutted.
Worst trade-in deal:
I don't do bad trade-ins :D
Worst CAG trade:
Mailed out a few coupons to some people. Wasted stamps just to help out another CAG... lol ;)
Was a good Cheapass year.

Or you can wait a few days until I put up the 4th Annual Cheapy Awards forum and then post this all over again ;)
Ok, whatever works best... not offended. ;)

Best Online store: Amazon.com. Although their "10 Deals of Christmas" was very disappointing
Agree, their idea of 'sales' really sucked imo.
Worst Deal(s) of the Year: Circuit City Black Friday for their LONG-ASS lines
I went to CC around here around 1pm and I had no problem getting in and out, though I had to wait for a manager to override the price on a PC guide to .99.
Worst Online store: KB Toys. Too much for shipping
See, that's weird because I ordered 4 games from their recent clearance sale and I paid only $4 something for shipping and I got my games in 3 days. Were some of your items out of stock at the time you ordered, since I know when I tried ordering Jak II from the clearance sale, it jacked my shipping up to $7-8 something from the $4 something.
Worst trade-in deal: Having to haggle with a woman & her clipboard of Gamecube prices to get Metroid Prime 1 & 2 for $17 during my yard sale adventures
:-# My thoughts on hagglers are too colorful for this board.

So, did everyone forget about the Best Buy clearance sale where the games were $2-$10 way back in jan or feb if I remember correct. This was one of the best deals for all cags as bb is everywhere. Whether you were buying to play or to flip this sale rocked.
Nah I didn't forget it, you'll notice I listed it as Worst Deal of the year - the list of games was tremendous and jaw-dropping in the sheer amount of quality games for $1.99 - $4.99, but I, and many others, hit up several Best Buys and didn't find one single game.

I remembered that...but that day I had to work... by the time I got there, all the good shit was picked clean.

Best Deal(s) of the Year: Tie between CircuitCity.com $5 a piece glitch and -$30 webcam from Amazon.
Best B&M store: KMart with Circuit City a close second. Due to 30% off clearance prices.
Best Online store: CircuitCity.com for the above glitch and GoGamer for the cheap Halo 3/Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and Unreal: Anthology.
Best trade-in deal: Bought a disc only Halo 2 at a pawn shop for $4 and traded in at GS for $15. Only trade in I've done... Ever.
Best CAG trade: I sent out Disgaea 2 for Odin Sphere.
Worst Deal(s) of the Year: Everything I bought full price.
Worst B&M store: Target, damn you and your incredibly YMMV clearances.
Worst Online store: ToysRUs.com for not honoring the -$60 glitch but still charging shipping. Gamestop.com for canceling the $0.01 guides but never notifying you that they've been canceled. Amazon.com for initially canceling my order of the -$30 webcam.
Worst trade-in deal: ...
Worst CAG trade: Traded Disgaea 2 and Valkyrie Profile 2 for SMT: Devil Summoner:RKvSA
Also... I can't believe I missed that 5 for $25 deal...
