Goozex is a great site for sure! Very good community as well. It's a good way to dump old games that won't trade-in or ebay very well.
On that note, my sig works as a referral to me. :)

For all those that have experience with goozex.com ... what do you guys think about it? I mean any really bad experiences or have you pretty much been satisfied with both ends of the deal?
The set-up sounds pretty good and I would like to give it a whirl, but I just want some honest positive and negative feedback before I commit.
Thanks in Advance... :)

I've been really happy with Goozex so far! I've got three games already for the PS2 I won from the CAGcast and one Wii game (Scarface). I've traded out several Wii games, including Guitar Hero III (game only) for 1000 points ($50), and just today got a request on my Super Paper Mario for 900 points ($45) which is a much higher value for both games than I could ever dream for at a place like Gamestop! So I've got 1850 points ($92.50) to spend on the site still! For those that are interested, I don't have any referrals - just click on my Goozex banner in my signature.
EDIT: And if anyone's wondering, the reason why my PS2 games aren't showing up in my banner as recently received, it's because I don't have my PS2 yet, so I'm holding out to give positive feedback on them until I have it. But don't worry, the two people that sent me the games have a high enough feedback (20, +2 or greater) that they get the points to spend immediately upon agreeing to ship out the game. It's a really great system Goozex has set up here.

I've only received one and sent two thus far, but no complaints as of yet and I really like the set up. Seems to be a little too easy for the seller to get screwed, but the buyer has no worries at all. No system is perfect though, and this is without question the best swaping site I've personally looked at. I really like how dynamic the price shifts are.

My experience has been negative so far. I got 100 points and a few free trades when I signed up a couple weeks ago. I listed Bioshock and Prey as available to trade and that I wanted The Simpsons Game and Earth Defense Force 2017.
So far nothing has happened other than some rather useless emails saying that I didn't have enought points for EDF2017 and that I'll have to wait until it's my turn again.

What happens to the sender if a game is "lost" or "damaged" in shipment...do they receive any type of compensation? I read that they recipient gets their points back, but nothing in regards to protection for senders.

I think that if a seller has a good reputation, and can provide a delivery confirmation number to Goozex if a problem arrises, that Goozex will be quite fair with the seller. Everyone says in the forums that they're great to work with and the resolve issues very quickly. My guess is that if a package "disappears" Goozex will refund the buyers points and trade credit, and let the seller keep their points if they can prove they sent the game.

I like how the PC library goes back really far so I can get some really great hard to find games for next to nothing. The CD of Star Wars: Tie Fighter (I used to have the floppies) was only 100 points. X-Com and Fallout are also at great trading prices.

Goozex makes it easy to send stuff too. They have an easy print out label and a paper to put inside to remind the buyer of all the trading info. If you are sending a disc without a box, they have a very nice printable envelope that helps protect the disc. The labels also list the return addresss as Goozex, so when sending you are not giving away any info besides your user id.
Its nice to give some games to people who still want to play them. Also it allows you to try some games you don't want to play full price for.
I have sent in 3 PS1 games, that were just sitting around not being played and 1 wii game that bored me. I have gotten Super Mario Sunshine, and will soon be getting Metal Slug Anthology and Ultimate spider-man from this site.
If anyone wants to use my referal link, its in my sig, but its not needed.

Yeah I've had good experience there too.
I requested Space Invaders Pocket for PSP - the game picture and everything on the site was English, but when I got it, it was in Korean. Not really a big deal, since it's just an arcade game and it was only like 300 pts, if it was an RPG or something then I would be mad. :)
I emailed Goozex and asked if they were trading imports and they said not yet.. and they ended up refuning my points. I'm afraid to re-list that game on the site again now for fear I may get bad feedback if someone is expecting a US version and gets Korean instead.

No, not at all. You go through the site and add all the games you have (and want to trade) to your "My Library". Then as people request those games, you'll get an email asking you when you want to ship it out. In order to get a game, go through the website and add any games you want to get in line for to your "My Requests". Then when your turn comes, a seller will automatically be picked for you and they'll ship out the game within 3 days. It's really simple. Once you've successfully traded two games (I think), you'll start getting your points to spend once you've agreed to ship, not after you've received feedback. So that's really nice.

iowaholdem
12-29-2007, 02:30 PM
If someone ships you a game do you have to send them something back and vice-versa?Nope, you just leave feedback on Goozex (see: Goozex signature banners) regarding the game.
EDIT: If anyone is appreciating my help here in this thread, I'd appreciate a referral out of someone in return. The way referrals work on Goozex is simple, if someone is referred to the site, once they complete their first transaction, the referrer gets 5 trade credits, which otherwise cost $5. I've had to buy trade credits before and I'm running out quickly with all these PS2 games coming in. The way it seems to work out (if you don't get a referral for trade credits) is it costs $1 (1 trade credit) and the required points (100 points = $5, can be purchased or traded for) to purchase a game, and to send a game costs about $2.50 (USPS First Class + delivery confirmation) which earns you points. Right now I have 1900 points ($95) but only 3 trade credits left.

Well, upon signing up, you are given 1 free trade credit. Upon completion of your first two (maybe just one, but I think two) trades, you earn an extra trade credit each. At that point, you can referr someone, or you can pay with Paypal or a credit card.

What the $1 they charge you?
thats how much trade credits cost, but you get the first free. If you keep selling, you don't pay it.
iowaholdem
12-29-2007, 10:59 PM
They don't charge you $1. When you request a game, if the seller agrees to the sale, you are charged 1 trade credit and all the points required for the purchase. So say you want Super Paper Mario. You'll need to have at least 1 trade credit and 900 points. Assuming you have 0 trade credits and 0 points, you can go to your "My Account" tab and scroll down to buy both. Trade credits cost $1 each (this is the $1 you're referring to), and points cost $5 for every 100 (these are what you get when you sell games).
So new members get 100 points and 1 trade credit for signing up. That's enough to get you one of tons of games - mostly just PS2, XBOX, and GCN games.

Does it cost Credit to ship games out?
iowaholdem
12-30-2007, 12:13 AM
Does it cost Credit to ship games out?Nope. The only cost associated with selling a game is the actual shipping cost. Which I print my postage from here (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80352) so that delivery confirmation is just $0.18. I estimate the weight of my bubble mailer and game to be about 7 ounces, which brings the cost to around $2.20 with USPS First Class. I also ship to Canada, which last time I did that, it cost under $2, but there was no delivery confirmation.

I do it at the post office, but whatever works for you. As long as it gets there, you can ship it any way you want.

Like I said before, I print my postage off from that thread I posted. That way I don't have to fuss with any post office (though I'd go to a USPS post office, if I needed to). Then I just drop the game off at a mailbox across the street.

So i can just put one stamp on the envelope and put it into a mailbox or do i have to go to UPS?NO! One stamp is not enough. You need at least $2 in postage on the envelope, with that they probably won't bother to check its weight to be sure you have enough.

UMMM I CANT FIND THE DISK please just confirm trade cancell so i dont get neg feedback....... More like they want to keep the 1000 pts and get free games.
i been pushing Goozex in my place of business since the day they opened but since they are doing nothing to the scammers im going to have to stop pushing this.. Im tried of people coming back saying How i told them this was a great site just to be ripped off
and if the person is here who requested that trade cancell for the sulk 2 game you wont get it but you will get NEG Feedback you #$#$##$# scammer
if you dont want to trade the games then dont list them .... hell i found out that i was matched for

Then at least they cannot spend them till the game is in hands of the requestor.

I agree too! I had Link's Cross Bow Training in my request lists for about a month when last night someone confirmed the trade and then PM'd me saying "this is disk only. if that's not ok, cancel the trade," so of course I said that's not ok and asked him why the hell he listed a disk only package as complete! I want to not complete the trade and just leave the idito negative feedback so I get my points back and he learns a lesson.

Well, I got another freaking confirmation on Links Cross Bow Training from a user with 0 feedback. I asked him if the Zapper is included as that constitutes a complete package on Goozex, and he said "no, but the zapper comes with the retail box. this is just the game." So I emailed his ass back and told him that's not a fucking complete package, that's game + manual. And then asked if he's going to include the Zapper since that's how it's supposed to be! And he said no. So I don't know, maybe I'll make that mother fucker send it anyways and then give him negative feedback for not being a complete package.
I'm going to go hit up the forums on Goozex and get the opinions of people there.

with all of these scammers its really \hurting the site17000 points?! Hell yeah, go buy a new system and you'll never need to buy games for it again. Just request them in and trade them back out when you're done! And I thought my 1850 was a lot...
As far as scammers go, I don't think there are a lot of them on the site. It seems like Goozex just went on banning binge and banned everyone with multiple accounts that were abusing the free 100 points. And if something ever doesn't turn out will for a buyer or shipper, it sounds like Goozex works really hard to make things fair for both parties. The biggest problem with Goozex is, of course, the fact that they don't make it clear on the game profiles with accessories that those accessories are REQUIRED with full package orders. Until Goozex fixes that, I won't be requesting anything like Links Crossbow Training again.
Here's a link to my heated discussion about that rat bastard Kw1sS and his punk ass not willing to send my Wii Zapper... bitch. http://www.goozex.com/community/forums/t/14136.aspx Though I did find a way to get his ass back - for now. He offered a cancel request, which I guess I'm ok with at this point (not happy with, just willing to accept it) so rather than flat out accept it, I'm locking down his copy of LCT so that he can't trade it away by ignoring his cancel request until the last day before it expires. That way he can't try to screw someone else over again. And even if he's not going to try to screw anyone, at least I'm getting to fuck with him a bit for being such a pile of poo. HA!

how i got so many pts was dumping off a lot of my games that was worth 400 to 1000 pts and then waiting until they fell or picking up junk titles that i want.
I mostly dumped off my ps2 and gamecube collection (even though i still have over 200+ games) and i only play DS and PSP right now. its probally been at least 2 years since i popped on my CUBE and the last time i popped on my PS2 for a major amount of time was AUG 2007 for nascar 2008
(i did play my ps2 for a few hours back in nov for smackdown 2008 )
im thinking about listing around another 50 ps2 games within the next month or two
