I just bought a 32'' Samsung LCD TV and it is way too small for my current setup. I spent almost $700 on it after tax and I've decided to take it back to the store and upgrade to something larger.

I'm looking for a 1080p TV that is 46'' or larger and is under $2000. Right now my sweet spot is somewhere around $1200-1500. I'm willing to go up to $2000, but I'd like to stay around $1200-1500.

I had my mind set on a LCD TV, but I've looked around at some websites and now I'm not sure if I should get a LCD or Plasma. I guess either one is fine. I just want a good TV that should last me a long time.

One last thing is that I am pretty much restricting myself to amazon.com to buy this TV. I really like not having to pay tax and getting free shipping.

I would be using my Xbox 360 to play games and the HD DVD attachment to watch movies on the TV. I also have Directv, but I haven't upgraded to an HD receiver yet. I have surround sound but it is only 5.1.

I'd like to get a Samsung, but I don't have my heart set on one. Like I said above I'm mainly looking for a good TV that will last me a long time and also not break the bank.

Also, if I bought a TV from amazon, would you recommend getting the 2-4 year service plan?

For $1200-$1500 you can get a mitsubishi/samsung/toshiba 65"+ DLP 1080p tv .... from most anywhere

Inlaws picked up a 65" Toshiba 1080p DLP for $1300 from CC
Parents picked up 65" Mitsubishi 1080p DLP for $1500 from Fry's

just look around
