View Full Version : Gamecard Issue (Unrelated to the current XBL issue)

I recently upgraded to a gold XBL accounting, expecting a gamecard to show up, like it does (or rather doesn't) in my post. It didn't show when I had a silver account, why doesn't it show with a gold?
Is there something I've done wrong with my account?
I'm trying to get an account on MCG but it says my gametag is invalid but i've been playing gears on live for about 3 days.
Whats wrong?

Did you link it in the User CP menu? It doesn't automatically add it to your account or anything. To get one in your signature like mine that uses the MGC website, you have to add something like the following into your signature:
[U R L="http://live.xbox.com/member/halfb3nt"] [I M G]http://card.mygamercard.net/gbar/abyss/halfb3nt.gif[/I M G][/U R L]

I would do that but the thing is not even Xbox.com thinks I have a valid account, search my gamertag IAmCrack69 and you won't get any data, but it sure is valid since I've been using it since christmas.
I don't even have a /member/ name. When I go to my user cp it says http://live.xbox.com/member/?????

I'm just going to ask this question here because I don't want to start a new thread for a simple question.
If I change my gamertag, will the change show up on my friends 360's as well? Or will it just drop me from their friends list because the system is looking for my old name?

the change will show on your friends' lists..just message them all letting them know the name changed so they arent like WTF is this?

Yeah, I think this issue is a seperate problems with their servers (from what I've read on the xbox forums).
Guess the are related in the sense that their servers are fucked and can't handle the current load, but seperate in that it seems even when the rest of live is up the gamercard recovery issues remain.

I check my account information and everything seems to be fine.
This is really annoying.
