I'm wondering if you HAVE to have a pandora battery and/or magic memory stick to downgrade a psp from the latest update (3.8?) Also if anyone in the Dallas area that has a pandora and would be willing to help me, I'd appreciate it.

Mods: I'm not sure if this is allowed to talk about, but if it's not, sorry.

You do infact need a pandora-ized official sony battery and a memory stick with the proper files.

Aw. I read about it, and I have the PSP phat. Do I need someone who already has CFW on theirs to get the files for the magic memory stick? Or can I just do it with my own?

You need a CFW fat psp to make a pandora battery. The magic memory stick can be made without the CFW psp if I remember right (I did mine a couple months ago). Here is the tutorial I followed http://www.psp-hacks.com/forums/about110289.html
The directions can be a little hard to follow and I spent the better part of a day getting all this to work. If you want to save frustration you can easily buy a pandora battery and magic memory stick on ebay, use it, and then sell it again for a minimal loss.

That's exactly what I did, except for the minimal loss part. I actually made money. :D
