That is correct. They had been advertising the marathon for weeks, and it began on the 26th. Adult Swim had a 5 year contract to air the show, and it is about to expire. Episodes will air on Comedy central starting in 2008.

"New" episodes are also to begin in 2008, but I doubt that.

Well, Comedy Central will run Bender's Big Score, broken down into four seperate episodes in 2008, so it is techn9ically new. They will be doing the same thing with the other upcoming three Futurama movies as well, so it is essentially 16 "new" episodes.

It's probably worth noting that, in the process of breaking the movie into episodes, they're going to be adding some new content and changing some of what was in the movie (most likely so that it makes sense in four pieces).
They haven't announced when they'll be running those episodes yet, though, so it could be a while.

Apparently, though I'm not sure how long that will last - Wikipedia says there are only 50 episodes so far, so they'll repeat more often than Futurama did.
I love the show, and will be sad to see it taken from the lineup.
Though, I have all four volumes on DVD, so it's not like I can't see them whenever I want!

This sucks. I'm going to miss the days where I could just flip to Adult Swin, kick back, and watch some Futurama.

I don't really see American Dad being AS material. I wish they would show old original AS shows like Stroker and Hoop, Home Movies (not at 1:30 please), Sealab, Harvey Birdman etc. It's gonna suck that futurama is gonna be on CC because they're going to run through the episodes faster than AS seeing how they show several episodes of the same show a day (like Scrubs and MadTV).
I'm going to miss the man with no name and a very sexy learning disease the most; A man named Zap Brannigan.

Stroker & Hoop definitely needs to be shown more often. I catch it every time I can. Should've been picked up for more eps.
I also agree with Home Movies, though it's similar to Futurama for me, as I have all the DVD sets.
I'd also like to see more of The Venture Bros shown. Can't wait for new episodes of that!

They said Comedy Central ordered 13 episodes of the show. There is no talk of them being completely new or just putting dvd movies into episode format.
In an interview with David X Cohen (executive producer), he said that the new season would have more continuity than before, which leads me to believe that they are going to make actual episodes, instead of adapting movies to fit to tv (or maybe not now that I think of it as a movie is generally has good continuity with itself) . The way he makes it sounds though in one of the interviews, it seems like they are doing episodes and that it'll be an actual season.

I love this show and I can't wait for it to come back. Stinks that it is leaving Adult Swim as I used to always watch the episodes when they came on because that felt like a very good time for them to be on. I get Comedy Central (at least at school) though so it's not bad. Anyway you put it though, it's good that the show is going to be back on the air.

Wait American Dad is replacing futurama, that fucking sucks. Now while I am not a big fan of fururama, I do enjoy that show way more than American Dad. Oh well, maybe comedy central will make it way better.

I really enjoy American Dad. When it first started airing, it had its stumbling blocks, but I think as the show has come along that it really has come into its own. I've actually enjoyed some of its new episodes far more that Family Guy since Family Guy's formula of clips is getting quite stale to me. At least on American Dad I have the talking gay alien Roger and the Straus the fish. While American Dad does copy some from Family Guy, it doesn't have that linear, monotonous clip aspect going for it all the time.
Also, Stroker and Hoop kicks much ass. I was one of the first people to laud that show when everyone was saying, eh, it's just alright. That show kicks ass and really sucks that there's only one season worth of material that they continously rerun. That has to be one of the biggest mistakes Cartoon Network has ever done in not renewing that show while picking up shit like 12 oz mouse and canceling Harvey Birdman.

Venture Bros is probably the only AS original show that is still showing new episodes/new seasons that I can watch. Well I take that back, I do enjoy Frisky Dingo and The Boondocks but outside of those three, well the entire AS programming block should be scrapped. I hate that Lucy show and can't stand the angel show. I have no interest in them and don't even remember their names.

American Dad is ok, but I can't only stand so much "Seth" humor. I'd rather they get The Simpsons if anything.

Jackson Publick said there was going to be a season three and four (Cartoon Network ordered 26 episodes - 13 per season), but (at the time) they weren't going to arrive for a while. We're slowly getting to "a while" now and I believe they're scheduled for June 2008.

Yeah I have all the Home Movies seasons too, it would just be nice for them to air it at a normal time so it gets more exposure for once.
[Cuts down door with two swords] It's Spaghetti Time!
The best original shows running on AS now are definitely Boondocks, Frisky Dingo, and Lucy Daughter of the Devil.

Futurama only had 76 episodes.
And Comedy Central did NOT order 13 true new episodes. All they are getting are the movies broken up into 4 pats each.
I doubt they will be shown on the air before fall 2008 because the next movie won't come out for probably 6 more months. Meaning, that at the earliest, we will see new episode, if CC picks up more episode, will be 2010.

Adult swim runs as if it were tight on money, which it isn't. They should try to get the first 3-5 seasons of the simpsons going, instead of the other shitty channel that runs em.
