View Full Version : MicroSD/Transflash Memory Deals/Recommendations?
I'm in the market for a MicroSD card for my phone (either 1GB or 2GB), but there's so many damn varieties and brands that it's hard to separate the crap from the deals. I know Sandisk and Lexar are always reliable brands, but if there's a solid offbrand (Patriot, PNY, etc.) that can be had on the cheap, I'm all for it.
Anyone have any recommendations on brands or where to find them?

I just bought a 2gig microsd for 18$ shipped. Looks like it's not free ship anymore but they've got em for 22$ shipped. Brand has never made a difference for flash memory in my experience. Only desktop/laptop memory and usb drives.

Aren't 4GB micro sd cards coming out soon? Maybe you should wait for that.

They're already out, but my phone won't recognize the high-capacity cards.

I've been eying this 1 GB for a few weeks now. It used to be in the $10-$12 range, but dropped to $6.76 last week. I also have no idea how mush shipping- that may kill the deal:

I have had two lexar 2gbs microSDs fail after a few days one in a Sliver and the replacement a few months later in a blackberry, took so long to replace it I had a new phone already. Lexar is on my sh*t list. I reccommend SanDisk Ultras for SD and CF and Kingston for miniSD and microSD. Also, lexar never honored the MIR, total crap company now, they used to be good. Avoid them.

A while back Buy.com had a glitch where a 1GB Kingson was $10 and the Google Checkout option was enabled. Free shipping too, and since the item was already $0.00 no tax was charged. I got a free MicroSD this way.
