if the retailer has a presence in your state, they have to tax you. Best buy pretty much has stores in every state so they have to tax everyone. But I believe that there is a bill that will relieve tax on every online purchase.

Relieve? Doubt it, unfortunately. In reality, most states and a lot of B&M retailers are pushing the states and federal government to start forcing all online retailers, regardless of presence, to begin collecting sales tax. Even if a retailer doesn't charge you sales tax, you are suppose to pay use tax in many states. No one does, though. Thus, the states want their money, and the B&M retailers want to even the playing field.

Especially NY state, since my one friend and her family got nailed for back sales tax on cigarettes they were ordering online. I'll just laugh if they come after me for sales tax I owe on prior purchases, since that's one of the main reasons I shop for stuff online.

Also, it won't happen in ALL states I believe, since Delaware has NO SALES TAX, from what I remember.

What I hate is when not only do stores charge tax but charge tax on shipping costs as well. Last I checked, there was no sales tax to ship an item so why should we be paying tax on it?

Actually, all of my trips to the US Post Offices to ship out guides says there IS tax on shipping costs, so it's not unheard of to tax shipping too.
