That's actually the way I was using my Pepsi Points, too, but I got an e-mail from the Pepsi Xtras newsletter the other day warning me to use my points "before it's too late," as the "Pepsi Stuff MP3 music promo is ending soon." Of course they've got the typical ending fine print below, but now I'm wondering whether to plop my meager collection of points into contests (and somehow avoid the rush from points hoarders) or to simply grab the last few MP3s that I can. Guess the rumors are true (or something like that). The fine print:

"Pepsi Stuff Promotion ends 12/31/08. Sweepstakes portion ends 11/15/08. All Points for the collect to get portion must be entered and redeemed by 12/31/08."

1. My own purchases between myself and the wife
2. Friends, family, and co-workers saved the caps and box flaps for me
3. Stopped the car whenever I saw flaps and bottle caps in recycling bins.
4. picked up whatever I saw on the ground in my daily walks
5. and finally I traded my stouffer's codes for pepsi codes.

Well, even though I'm pretty much a Diet Coke drinker I goes where the deals is, meaning I do occasionally get Diet Pepsi. I never much paid attention to what I could get with the points though I have always entered them. But I am so thoroughly disgusted with the Coke rewards program at this point as they've had a whole lot of crap up there for several months now.

So just a few weeks ago I started redeeming my Pepsi points. These mp3 downloads are amazing - if only Coke had something like that I could fill up an iPod or two ;). I had maybe 50 points total and have already used a few (compared to my 3000 or so at Coke). Forgive me if this has been covered endlessly in this thread, but I have seen some strange things going on with the availability of certain songs. Of course, invariably, it seems everything I want is not purchasable via the Pepsi points (though I have gotten some stuff the kids want). But I did snag a Led Zep song the other day and when I looked today it was not available via Pepsi points. Do they change around like that often?

Fortunately I just got an Amazon gift cert for 5 songs for purchasing some electonics or something so I was able to get the songs I wanted for free without using the Pepsi points. But there are still a few others I'm considering and I'm wonderig if I wait a bit they might become available.

Also, what are the bigger prizes people have been claiming? While the rewards on the Coke site suck big time, it does seem easier to browse them there than on Pepsi/Amazon where I invariably end up just going to the regular Amazon site when searching for things. Just wanted an idea of what you guys have saved up for/bought in the recent past.

Nothing on here is really worth a whole lot, but the noise cancelling headphones and the Pepsi hoodie are worth the most points. So far I've received: Sennheiser Headphones (great for my ipod!), two different Pepsi towels (thin, beach-towel quality), Pepsi Tote Bag, and the Coby digital photo keychain. I'm trying to get up to 50 points again by the promotion end to either get the iPod band or a t-shirt.

Before the massive rape of pepsi that myself and a few others introduced to this site. Pepsi stuff had lots of dvds and cds. ranging from anime to disney to independents to a lot of 2007's summer blockbusters. The cds were so so depending on what you liked.

Honestly at the end of the day pepsi had more of an incentive to collect points than coke, but at the end of the day when coke does right by thie customers they do offer better prizes(before the price hikes)

I participate in both and I will say that I have racked up at least $1000 in dvds and cds from pepsi for free ;) and around $800 worth the hard way

Can you not redeem anything at this point? I had, like 35 points or so and would have burned them on mp3's at least. There should be some option of "redeem code" or something like that, and it should tell you that you have X credit towards mp3/Video on demand/movies. I got the same voucher I believe, and I remember messing around a bit till I found a link that opened a page and let me know that I still had a certain value left.

It's funny because I was about to chide the OP of this thread for not modifying the title to warn of that in the last few days. What is it, exactly, that I was suppose to read telling me of the end? The Pepsi boxes I just bought the other day with the codes on them don't say that. I never got an email about it. If it's in the OP then, well, I don't go back and re-read the beginnings of threads I'm subscribed to every other day to see what's going on - just follow the discussion at the end. If you look at the posts through Dec 31st you can see the thread dropped off after some free code posts and there was no discussion of the end of the promo near the very end by 4tygames and mtxbass1 - problem is that is sort of a busy time and I didn't check this thread closely then. Oh well... 4tygames' post in particular I just missed I guess. The Coke thread I read once every week or two to see if anything is happening - I treated this one the same way I guess.

I do remember hearing something in here a while ago about it ending/changing at the end of the year. But I also thought someone said it got extended to match Coke's extension of their program. I didn't get squat. I had it set up via my wife's Amazon account and checked her email (which is way less full of crap than mine ;)) and there was nothin'. I got the order confirmations when buying the mp3s via Pepsi points, but got nothing about the promo at all. Oh well.
