And think about this on the bright side if any movie or cd you order is back logged they will actually credit you in amazon dollars rather than give it back to you in pepsi points.

no they don't keep records on their site because it is a promotion(hence another reason why you wouldn't have to pay like many people are afraid of). use your email confirmations as receipts if any isues should arise.

i really believe that the worst thing that could happen is that Pepsi could pressure amazon to shut down some amazon.com accounts, and i really don't see amazon being too willing to do that considering that they would be punishing themselves by eliminating customers, all for a poorly ran promotion that is ultimately Pepsi's fault and probably hasn't cost amazon any money.

i don't know about the rest of you, but i probably spent over $2k at amazon over the last year...am i really the kind of customer that they would want to suspend over something like this? something that is neither my fault or amazon's? i really can't see that happening. the promotion coming to an abrupt end: now that's something i can see happening.

Well it looks like two of the things I ordered when the servers were wonky this morning got lost in the shuffle, as I still haven't gotten e-mail confirmations on them. However, stuff I did just now did go through.

No big loss. One of the lost items didn't subtract points, so I was able to replace it. So all in all, only lost one item, which I can get on another account.

Moving onto Mother's Day gifts, Christmas gifts, etc. Going to be another night of grinding.

there are some people talking about clearing their cache or cookies or whatever, but not even that is necessary. from my own experience and those of everyone i've talked to about this outside of CAG, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS USE INTERNET EXPLORER, GET A CODE, CLOSE BROWSER, REOPEN, REPEAT. no digging through cookies, no clearing of anything...

and don't get me started on ethics...pepsi is a multi-billion dollar corporation that markets "make me fat and kill my teeth" juice to kids to fill their own dirty pockets with cash...i just don't feel too sorry for using their own loophole to weasel a few free dvds and cds from them. 1. If you are on your second account because you already maxed out at 3000 points. Then you either a) are hoarding to sell on ebay or b) you are piling up stuff that will just sit in your house. I used 1200 points and I already got everything I really wanted.

2. I think amazon.com is trying to get rid of stuff that was not selling very well. It seems to me that their pepsi stuff like the coby headphones or the maxell headphones (worth $20) were not selling well so they are trying to get rid of them through this promotion. Why wouldn't they put some Sony headphones that cost $20?

3. Amazon does not care about us hoarding because they will get their $$$ from pepsi and actually it is to their advantage because they are "moving" inventory that was not selling and pepsi will be the one taking the bill for our hoarding, so for amazon is a win - win situation.

4. Have you noticed that a lot of the DVDs offered through this promotion are also available on Blu-Ray? Maybe these DVDs were not selling well because they also have a Blu Ray version of them.

5. What's the deal with the crappy cds? Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and Backstreet Boys? Again, these were not selling well so amazon is getting rid of them. Also, why are they offering too many "Greatest Hits" albums?

6. If you are on your second account, then you really need to get a life. Seriously...:lol:

Seriously, 3000 points used and you still need more points to get more stuff :roll:. I am big movies and music fan but I used 1300 points and I have 700 sitting in my balance because I just don't know what else to get. I will admit the CD section is barely decent , the DVDs section is kinda crappy, the electronics section is mediocre and the accessories section is totally useless.

If you used 3000 points and still need more, then you either have bad taste or want to make some $$$ on ebay.

Seriously, 3000 points used and you still need more points to get more stuff :roll:. I am big movies and music fan but I used 1300 points and I have 700 sitting in my balance because I just don't know what else to get. I will admit the CD section is barely decent , the DVDs section is kinda crappy, the electronics section is mediocre and the accessories section is totally useless.

If you used 3000 points and still need more, then you either have bad taste or want to make some $$$ on ebay.

I agree with you that the movie selection is horrible though it has gotten better i have been doing this legit since day one. (earning about a movie every 2 weeks) they do add a little more every other week or so. plus it is going on until december. wise man will either stock up a second of third account for what may come in later months.

Type "pepsi" in the Search box at the top and select and press "Del" to delete the Pepsi cookies 1 by 1. Open AdBlock, block stuff_music.swf (If you use FireFox and don't have AdBlock, you fail, go get it.)

Refresh the page. BAM, no more music.

Now, LEAVE the cookies window open. Delete the pepsi cookie after each code you get. You don't need to delete any others, don't need to refresh the window, don't need to close/reoopen IE/Otherwise.


Main point in this though, you can kill the music. My GOD that sound is annoying.

Took me about two hours of real work to get 3000 points. It does get boring so I spread it out.

Right, so I just checked to see if I was right.

It took me 5 minutes to get 20 codes.

20 codes = 100 points

Max is

600 codes = 3000


So it would take me 150 minutes, or 2 hours and 30 minutes, of real work to get 3000 codes. That's not that long, especially spaced out over time.

Well, that's the thing. Regardless of whether or not they have any legal grounds for a lawsuit, Pepsi can still attempt to file a lawsuit. Would anything come of it? I have no clue, I'm not a lawyer. But I know they could make that move.

The RIAA also isn't selling anything to the people. Pepsi, not only has the pepsi name to watch out for, but they are owned by YUM foods. This would put not only Pepsi, but Pizza Hut, KFC, Taco Bell, Etc as a bad point in everyones eyes. The RIAA won't lose money if people hate them. Pepsi however could die as a company if everyone hates them.


Hell I'm drinking from a 2 liter of Pepsi right now, if they pulled something like that I would guarantee that Coke would start getting my money. While I agree some people are going a bit excessive on this, it is not their job technically to make sure you cannot do this multiple times. I can think of at least 3 different ways they could either fix this or make it not worth the time to do, but if they don't take the initiative then I don't see how it's anyone here's responsibility to do so. I am not taking advantage of this myself, but that doesn't mean that I think they should sue people for a fault in their system

I got 1 dvd from this and it was with legit points (work in a call center so i drink a lot of soda). I do agree with you that this is a bit excessive for people. while 3k points is excessive. The multiple accounts though is quite a bit over the line imo

During the Coke promotion I got hundreds of 20 oz coke certs and Blockbuster rentals, and they banned my accounts at the end of it. No big loss, no IP ban so I just made another one.

Yea I figured this out yesterday (then I found these forums) I've spent like 1000 points. I'm using a mac and I even have a dashboard widget that I can use to enter codes.
