I received an 8GB Zune out of the blue yesterday. I had entered about 20 codes for various sweepstakes drawings prior to the cheatfest, and apparently at least one was a winner. I installed the Zune software on the XP Pro side of my MacBook, and it seeks to be behaving itself.

I don't know if I'll enter any more sweeps on Pepsistuff. All of my points were legitimate, but I wonder how many ill-gotten points are now getting entered into the drawings. It sounds like the vocal folks here are using them for purchasing tangible Amazon goods, but there still may be some devaluation of the Pepsi point "currency." I may try a few more drawings and use the rest on song downloads.

The hills thing isn't that bad.
Click buy -> line up the [x] -> keep clicking to get the 200 pepsi bottles in like a minute
Organize -> sort ->new folder -> pepsi caps in that folder

Then:
1. My stuff
2. pepsi caps
3. reveal top cap
4. discard top cap
5. repeat

After you got all the windows up copy/paste the codes into notepad. It's a lot of manual work but still like 10 points a minute

It's really not too tedius if you got a system like metioned above a few posts.

1. separate the caps and bottles into two folders.
2. reveal a code, cut and paste to redeem, move to the next one.
NOTE: don't discard cap (takes too long) don't close the window that reveals code.
3. reveal next code, the list will show 11 caps at a time. Once you reveal 11 codes move the used caps to the folder with the bottles (organize...) and start over.

Beats gettin caps the legit way, and it's free, c'mon

Here's what I figured up that they just might be doing.

When they figured out there were ways around this and that people had HUGE amounts of points saved.. they went ahead and took off a load of items. Once you've bought the ones left there.. you don't want to waste more points on stuff you've already bought, right?

So you save them.
They figure if you save them and don't use them.. after a while (like most contests do with these points) the inactivity will result in losing all your points. lol.
Then you have to start over.

Except that I don't have enough faith in Pepsi to being using that line of reasoning. Did the site get raped? Definitely... but how many more codes are out there vs. how awful does the selection look to new users? Which is ultimately more important to Pepsi?

While they got hit, I hardly imagine it's something they're too concerned about, which is why I floated the idea of perhaps they already had stuff laid out for a 6 month changeover. That's the only explanation that I have for not having new stuff already, unless they were never planning on having any.

I guess the question is... how many points are left? People raped it, but it certainly won't get hit as badly again, unless they screw up another promotion. Many people hoarded points, but I'd venture to say that a large number also maxed out, ordered a bunch, and called it a day.

Point is, no pun intended, that from a corporate standpoint, I have to think that Pepsi would rather have the site look good for the MAJORITY of people than worry about the MINORITY that butt invaded them. 'Tis why I was trying to reason out why they haven't done anything about new items.

Here's to hoping they bring something in, but as someone mentioned before, chances are there was a limited quantity of stuff available through the promotion that was supposed to be stretched over the entire promotion period, and because I'm sure more than 75% of it was used up by our antics, they've cut WAY back on the redeemable items. I doubt they'll refresh the products page with good stuff, but if they do, I'll be all over it.

I think what happened is that most people went right for the DVDs and Electronics and basically ignored the CDs, which is why those two aren't great right now. The Apparel, however, has just always sucked. :lol:

Depending on the store you shop at, codes occasionally print out right at the register, too, if you buy the appropriate products. For those in the Chicago area, I stopped by a local Jewel food store earlier tonight to stock up on Pepsi 24-oz. 6-packs ($11 if you buy 5), and a code for 25(!) Pepsi Points printed out at the counter. With 30 points from the 24-oz. bottles, that's an awfully nice pick-up... if you weren't abusing an online promotion some time ago.

Yea, I was actually thinking the same thing before. I thought it would be pretty neat if they had a video game section. I wondered why they didn't. Exactly. I guarantee that they'll add stuff *eventually*, it's just a question of when. I will say, however, that I expect the promos to dry up.

At this point I'm just sitting on codes and waiting to see if stuff shows up. If it never does, I'm going to go ahead and get some CDs... but I don't want to do that yet without knowing whether DVDs I'd much rather have will pop up. So, while there are a lot of good CDs, I think many are waiting to see whether stuff gets replenished. That, and like I've said before, I don't think the CDs got raped nearly as hard as the electronics and the DVDs.

Yes, just explain that your pepsi stuff order was cancelled by them. They should offer you a promotional credit equal to the item's price (although some people have succeeded in getting their points back)

I believe the process is only automatic when there's an immediate error processing your order. Like you click to submit your order and get get a message saying there was any error, but don't worry they'll refund the points back into your account.

I told them the truth: that the USPS screwed up my orders and sent them back to Amazon and then I asked for a refund. Worked twice perfectly with no problems and the people were super nice.

However, I recently called for a third order (stuff was on backorder from the original messup and USPS STILL hasn't gotten its' fucking act together, so it wasn't like I did this just to fuck Amazon/Pepsi Stuff over again) and the woman on the other end was pretty terrible (could barely hear her, she didn't ask me any questions about why I was asking for a refund, asked me the wrong questions--like asking for my name instead of the order number the first time and then acting like she asked for my order number all along-- and was just really unfriendly and unhelpful). She said I'd get an e-mail that I'm still waiting for two days later, but the other two times, the promotional credits were given over the phone, so I don't know what will happen.

.Bad move, IMHO. You should have contacted them and ask them to change your order on their end. Much better if they were the ones to cancel the order. I'm kinda doubtful of your chances of recouping those points now.

I emailed Amazon that day. The next day I was told " ... because you used your Pepsi Stuff points for the original order as part of the Pepsi Stuff promotion, I'm unable to create a replacement order for you. Instead, I've requested that 90.00 points be restored to your account on PepsiStuff.com. Refunds typically take 2 to 3 days to process." And they were but it was more like 10 days. Yes, you have to harass them until you get the points (I sent them 2 emails). It took me 5 days to get my points back for an order that was canceled.
