The very first time they did this promotion, my brother and I were both working for Pepsi helping route drivers in college. We had to fill tons of vending machines and got to keep most of the points. We both had pretty much the entire catalog....it was sweet.

Last time they had a special edition Mountain Dew Xbox system. Someone I worked with got 3 of 'em... but she was the one who cashed in the bottles from the collection bins at work.

I had about 200 points or more and got an e-mail one day saying that they will run out in 90 days if I do not use them. Now I just have about 10 or so caps and have not even put the points in. I would have about 5 or 10 more now but I have not been keeping them. I thought I would spend them on something I want but have not seen anything.

Here are some of the standout DVD sets available, at a quick glance. They're all 90 points, which is quite a few 12-packs, and a lot of bottles. But the TV sets are the same price as any other dvds, so if you have 90 points, you can get more for your money buying a set than if you bought a normal movie. Not much more, but a little.

Doesn't look too good, I wonder how the 6 pack of 24 oz bottles have points (hopefully not under the cap) since we sell those at work but break them up and sell each bottle individually so I could potentially get the points if they were on the outer packaging and not part of the bottles themselves (so it wouldn't be taking points away from the people who buy it)

The 12 pack was clearly marked. Haven't seen any bottles, but I'm pretty sure they are marked. If they are marked they'll have some kind of baby blue color on them instead of the dark Pepsi blue color they usually have.

Nope, it won't work, because they way they inventory the yields on stuff like fountain soda is through the cups. So if a soda is $2.00, the cup is inventoried as $2.00. Loose 3 cups and you're short $6.00.

He would go through the trash cans after the races and collect trash bags full of bottles. He then gave all the caps to me and my brother. we got so many free sodas and goodies w/ those caps. It was awesome all of the stuff we got.

Trading a 2 point code for 4 Caps from Coke OR a 10 point Coke code. 2 points in Pepsi stuff is about the equivalent of 10 points in Coke Rewards because the 12 packs give 2 and 10 points, respectively.

You will never see pepsi stuff points on MD. Mountain Dew is getting its own promotion in May or June. It is going to be called "old school, new school" It will include Mountain Dew, Amped Energy, and I think one more product. I am not even really sure what the codes under the cap will be used for. But we apperently will be getting 3 new MD test flavors this summer.

Yeah, the Pepsi stuff is better. However, I don't drink soda and I get my caps from other people, the vast majority of which are coke. So I try for coke products.

a little bit of both.

-It is good in the sense that people have actually been known to win the sweepstakes, whereas with coke you don't hear of anyone winning the sweepstakes.

-coke has a limit of entering 10 codes a day(which means complete dedication to get the bigger prizes) whereas with pepsi there is a limit of 3000 per account.

-pepsi has guaranteed dvds, cds, etc. whereas coke has random prizes at all times. Some good some bad and no one knows when something they want will show up on their site.

So if you weigh both, it is easier to pick one and stick with that one. But not to alienate yourself I say do both you can normally find bottle caps and box flaps for both brands laying in the street, near trash cans, from family, friends, and co-workers.

Plus if you are determined enough you can hit recycling centers and parking lots after big events like games and concerts. In the long run it is basically something for free, so it can't hurt to do it even if you only get a free soda or song download out of the whole ordeal.

Target has buy 5 Pepsi 12 packs for $15 and get a $5 GC free. Pretty good deal considering net cost is $2 a 12 pack and you get points. (Sorry if that's a repost)

FWIW, I'd have to say MCR is slightly better considering all coke brands except Mr Pibb are eligible; Also, the original prizes for MCR were far superior than either promotion is now.

As they stand now though they are pretty close. Now it's just a question of which drink vs brand of drinks you prefer.

For these two just drink your preference and reap the rewards.

Well I don't know if everybody knows about this but go to www.pepsiracing.com and there the site will generate a 5 point code for you from your email address. wash rinse repeat or whatever you want to do. Also if you register with www.pepsiracing.com through their game you can also get another 5 point code through your email.



Note I only did it about 5 times since I am a scaredy cat. lol but i figure there are much more ambitious people out there on this site who can really use this info.

Both, I have the IE/Firefox tab switcher addon. One tab is open on firefox with the racing site, and then i clear cookies, then I am logged in on the IE tab to pepsistuff. I get 20 points per minute about.

the thing is i can honestly say i don't think these will be canceled. I looked though the terms on the pepsiracing site and not once do they mention an account receiving numerous free points, nor in the terms on the site itself does it mention a limit to how many free codes you can get. the only thing that can be up in the air is the hacking the site definition, but since these are generated by pepsi itself and they say there is a limit to how many codes will be generated i honestly think everyone will get all of their movies or whatever else they did with them.

one last point of interest also if you afraid also like i was, it only says one code per email addy. nowhere does it state a person can only have one email addy to get free codes.

and actually pepsi has been giving them away quite frequently lately. in addition to all the scratch and rub cards and other promos they have been doing.

looks like they are telling everyone to take their stuff. oh well it is free. :)

It says that accounts have a limit of 3000 points. What's unclear is whether that's at one time, or altogether. Anyone on here surpass 3000 yet without problems?

I ordered a few (4, I think) more things tonight with the leftover points I had, but I think I'm going to sit this new one out. There's not much more left on the site I want anyway, and sweepstakes are just a huge red flag, so I don't want to use points there. I'd venture to say that those are where they begin to scrutinize accounts and withhold prizes, provided you win.

i suggest you use internet explorer to get the codes and use firefox to enter the codes
after every code you generate just close the IE window and open a new one.

(i set my ie to clear all cookies and everything else)

As for those having problems getting this to work in IE. If you have the Safari browser (which I dont use but iTunes must have auto-installed it last time I updated the software) you can use that pretty easily. Just set the Pepsisite to your home page and go to Edit -> Private Browsing. That will clear cookies each time you close. Just Open, enter info, copy code, close window and reopen. Very easy!

Also does anyone have any recommendations on the headphones and earbuds they are offering? I wanted to get a set better than the standard iPod/Zune buds and the price is definitely right, thanks to Pepsi!

Yeah, plus I don't think Amazon cares because Pepsi has probably already paid for what it would take to cover all of these points...so Amazon is probably out nothing.

No way, wayyyyyy too many people doing this. Worst case scenario, they cancel your orders and you wasted some time. It's really a can't lose situation.

i'm feeling completely baffled by this though. they absolutely must know what is going on by now and they keep allowing it to happen? seriously? free crap for everyone courtesy of pepsi? something just seems like someone is screwing up big time.

i was watching the pre-race coverage on sunday and they interviewed jeff gordon and he mentioned the promotion, so i checked the site and the promotion wasn't started quite yet. soon after, it went live and it was slightly different then. i was able to keep entering codes without doing anything else. well, i guess i should take a step back and point out that i have never had to do anything with temporary internet files or cookies for this to work...i currently just close the browser and reopen the shortcut to the pepsi page. however, at first, i didn't even need to do that much...i could just keep generating codes in rapid succession.

a few hours later, that changed and i had to start closing IE between codes, but i still don't understand why so many of you are having to mess around with cookies.

the reason i brought this up is to show that between the time the pepsi racing promotion started and ended, somebody made some changes to the site...so, someone is definitely paying attention and allowing us to get all of these codes, and i just find that to be completely amazing.

it was like christmas today when i got home and had all of these packages.

i don't think they've had anything decent in electronics and there hasn't been anything game related. i wish they had blu-ray movies.

Exactly. Amazon doesn't really care about this at all. It's just a question of whether or not Pepsi is going to notice, and if they do, whether or not they're going to care. And if they care, what are they going to do about it? I don't think they're going to try and charge us, but they might have our accounts banned. That would be annoying.

Another question I have on my mind is, CAN Pepsi do anything? Putting in an e-mail address isn't some legally binding contract. There is nothing there stating anything to the effect of "one per person".
