OK, so I'll ask the same question in this thread, in case the other one dies out and I don't get a response...Now that my son also has a DS, I find I can't just pick up one game w/o thinking whether or not I should pick up two. Would it be a good idea for either Custom Robo Arena or Lunar Knights? CRA is more his type of game, can't really see me playing through that heavily, while LK is more my speed. One of each and go for singlecart multiplay? I'd like to play CRA w/ him, not sure I'd care for the whole singleplayer campaign...Thanks for the new thread. I had alot of fun with armored core 4 on x360. If you've enjoyed previous installments in the series, you'll enjoy this one. Even if you haven't played AC but like faster-paced mech combat games it's well worth $17.

The $9 is a clearence of clearence games as shown in the sunday paper for the 6th. For whatever reason cc marked down some (all?) the games early.

Well, I went to my local CC last night, and I couldn't get an associate to help me find the $8.96 titles... luckily, I came across a cart that had the entire list. I was going to take it with me, but I figured it'd be pointless, since most of the titles I remembered seeing on this page, and they were rapidly running out of others. Here's what I grabbed, tho:

The ad says "Limit 3 titles per customer" I hope that was a misprint where they really meant limit 3 of each title per customer (which is what most CC ads say) and not 3 games total (though unless there are some huge new additions, I doubt there are 3 games I want that I already didn't get)

That's why I was asking. I went in looking for Condemned and Bullet Witch... and the only 360 titles they even had were one copy of Bomberman and one copy of COD2.

I guess to put the nail in the 'didn't pull them' coffin, I saw copies of Bullet Witch in the bin a week before Christmas, when they also still had entire bins of 360 stuff (Tomb Raider, LOTR, Bullet Witch, Project: Sylpheed). No way all of those games made it past Christmas and were pulled for this clearance promo. I was hoping but, alas, it seems there shall be no cheap 360 games for me out of this one.

I caved in and flipped through all the 360 titles on the shelf at my CC (no bargain bin). Spotted Chromehounds, Quake 4, GUN, Tomb Raider Legend, Hitman Blood Money and buku COD2. No Condemned, unfo, which is the only thing I really wanted. None of these games were labeled with the clearance price, but a couple I bought did ring up as listed in the OP.

Given that some of titles listed in the OP were on the shelf, I doubt they've pulled any to be relabeled and/or clearance binned for tomorrow.

CC's website is pretty weak. I wouldn't worry too much about ever finding anything on there. It's usually in-store or nothing. The one thing the site is good for, though, is when glitches occur during the 2 for $30 deals.

In my experience, yes, that's the way it works. When I got Okami on clearance ($16.96?) it was still labeled as $29.99 or $39.99, but it scanned at the clearance price. I only knew it was on clearance b/c of CAG.

I happily pointed out where it says "hundreds of titles to choose from." He said it was only 05-06 sports titles and movie game titles. Just got back from CC. I hate my Tallahassee CC. I looked around, no 8.96 bins. I asked a guy...he said it was only the games pictured. I happily pointed out where it says "hundreds of titles to choose from." He said it was only 05-06 sports titles and movie game titles. He then told me to pick any games I might want and they would scan them all.

Moto GP 07 for 360 should be added to the list, though it may be YMMV. I got it at the Jersey City, NJ Circuit City from the clearance bin. It rang up at $49.99 but after a quick discussion with the clerk he knocked it down to $8.96, so I figure that's gotta be worth it.

The response I got was the add was "marketing speak" and that the majority of the "100's of titles" were probably already sold out before the add was even posted. In other words they advertised the clearance that's been going on forever.

I really enjoyed Full Auto 2 - had it a while back & traded it in. Thought about picking it back up for $9, but the truth is I'll never touch it again once Burnout Paradise comes out, so it would be a waste of $9 for me.

Untold Legends wasn't very good at all imo, and I wouldn't buy it at any price unless I was really desperate for something to play - and how many CAG'ers *really* need something else to play?

Games like Gun, which I bought on Black Friday for 5 bucks, didn't get great reviews but I absolutely adored it. I think I can appreciate these types of games more when I haven't spent 60 bucks on them.

I bought Tomb Raider Legend (360) at Circuit City last night and it rang up for $16.96, which is the price that was listed in the OP. Did it scan as $8.96? Or did you have to get them to manually adjust the price, and if so, how did you convince them it should be $8.96? It's not one of the titles shown in today's ad, and I wouldn't know how to prove it's one of the "hundreds of titles" covered by the $8.96 price.

Just got back from the Blaine and Maple Grove CCs. About what I would have expected: Blaine didn't have much of anything (btw, I was just looking for 360 games, so that's all I really paid attention to), no bins, and hardly anything from the list that I was interested in, except for some sports titles. Picked up NBA 2K7 and College Hoops 2K7; might have been the last copy of each. Tomb Raider Legend rang up for 16.96. As far as other games, there were plenty of copies of NCAA Football 2007, and I think I saw some CoD2. Otherwise, not much.

Much better selection at Maple Grove, although even more messily sorted. Had a few bins, a couple with 8.96 games (they were writing up some stickers for some PS2 games while I was there), but no 360 bin. Pawed through all the games in the 360 section and ended up with Far Cry and Tiger Woods 07. They had one more copy of Far Cry (case was cracked, though); not sure about Tiger 07. Also had multiple copies of Bullet Witch, one of Chromehounds, I think most of the sports titles, some CoD2 and Meet the Robinsons. Didn't see Gun or Quake 4.

That store is great for finding stuff that's clearanced but still shows the original sticker price on it. Used to live close to the mall. I'm pretty sure that Star Ocean has been there for months and the Onimusha since at least November as I went there when I was at my mom's for Thanksgiving.

my circuit city sucked. everything was not even moved from the normal clearance section. also, nothing was marked down from the original prices. the guy gave me a hassle when i wanted to certain games scanned and told me that the DS games weren't even clearanced.

i noticed that there was a 50% strat guide sale, so to my luck i found a rogue galaxy guide. knowing it was pennied, i did not want to push my luck, so i wanted to snag it for $10. the lady at the customer service desk gave me a huge hassle trying to even get it scanned in at $20. then she told me she was only going to give it to me for $20, i mentioned that they all were half off. rudely, she asked another employee to make sure the sign was not "expired", he ignored her request and she rang it up for $10.

afterwards, i gave her my checkcard to pay for the items i got, and she said it was DENIED. i mentioned to her that it was a checkcard and it's impossible to be denied, even though i knew it just worked at another store. she kept saying denied, even though i can tell she was canceling the transaction everytime she scanned it. so luckily my girlfriend gave me cash to pay for my items. i went over to my banks ATM, checked my balance and withdrew some cash, and voila no problems with my card.

all in all my trip sucked major ass. first none of the games are marked or organized. second, i get hassled for trying to get a guide half off. third, the stupid ass customer service lady tries to say my checkcard is denied, a blatant lie.

this reminds me why i dont shop at circuit shitty

I just got back. I didn't get to look at the list, but I talked to the guy working and he told me he was about done changing all the games on the list to 8.96. They were all in a rack by the register in the game department. Their was nothing noteworthy. Nothing at the Harbison CC in Columbia SC. They looked barren, the 360 games I looked at had new orange stickers (looked very Dollar General, ghetto, discount store) that were about $10 off normal prices. And I didn't see many customers buying much, item here item there kinda traffic. Their TV's Section looks very thrown on the wall and power supplied. I left feeling sorry for CC and felt like I was living a Flea Market...:D

I know Circuit Shitty hasn't been known for it's customer service and has been having financial challenges but by the look of this store, I don't see it staying open much longer.

Well, I picked up only a couple of titles:

NBA 07 PS3 $8.96
Bullet Witch Xbox 360 $8.96

These were the only copies I saw at the Dearborn, MI CC and it's sad because most of what is on clearance isn't marked as such. Bullet Witch for example still had a $49.99 price tag on it and never was marked down to $16.96 tag wise. NBA 07 did have a $16.96 tag on it though. The only thing I really wanted was Def Jam Icon PS3 but they only had for 360 and the 360 version isn't on clearance.

my cc had a whole section of CRAP. picked up tony hawk wasteland for 360 (8.96), didnt want to leave empty handed. saw tons of bomberman. very sad.

Just got back from CC. I got Parappa and *gasp* Yakuza for 8.96. I could not BELIEVE I found Yakuza. Man my best find in a long, long time. I have been wanting this game forever.

Also if anyone is interested, the lady working at CC had a list and was pulling out DS games. I managed to see the list real quick and some GC was clearanced. The stand out titles from the page I saw was Megaman X Collection and one of the Donkey Konga games, for 8.96.

Nothing at the Harbison CC in Columbia SC. They looked barren, the 360 games I looked at had new orange stickers (looked very Dollar General, ghetto, discount store) that were about $10 off normal prices. And I didn't see many customers buying much, item here item there kinda traffic. Their TV's Section looks very thrown on the wall and power supplied. I left feeling sorry for CC and felt like I was living a Flea Market...:D

I know Circuit Shitty hasn't been known for it's customer service and has been having financial challenges but by the look of this store, I don't see it staying open much longer.

Look another Columbia shopper!

The CC on Two Notch road had plenty of COD2s but not much else. I was able to get COD2 for 8.96 too btw...

My CC was very confused. A man and his wife said that they told him everything $19.99 and under was $8.96. The only games that rang up at that price were Elite Beat Agents and Children of Mana. I had Justice for All--it rang up at $16.96. There were also two bins of mostly PC games with some good stuff. They said they were part of the sale but all rang up at sticker price. I was told everything was priced according to the sticker price right after getting Elite Beat Agents with a sticker of $16.96 at $8.96.

just got back from my local CC stores.

bought Final Fantasy IV and V (GBA) for $8.96 each, and Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 (360) at $16.86

i asked the manager and he let me look at 4 pages of clearanced games. most of them are CRAP. about one and a half page are Xbox games, NFS, Jade Empire...

i wanted MGS Acid! and MGS Acid 2 at $8.96 each but all out.
there is no COD2 on the list, 360 or Xbox.

I got to the westside Albuquerque location around 10:40am. A friend from work got off at 1010am, and he had a lot better luck in those 20 minutes between our shifts than I did.

Had some success in San Diego. I had a stack of Xbox 360 and PS2 games that rang up $8.96 each! Then the employee checking the prices tells me there is a strict limit of 3 games total per customer! We talked and he said if I just grabbed the games randomly because they ALL rang up $8.96!!! I said no and that I had a list, he then asked where I got it from and I continued to tell him that "my co-worker emailed it to me"!! Hahahahaha!!! The guy continues and says that they "never got a list" so they have been price checking all morning!!!! Anyhow, I was disappointed at the three per customer total of games, but he added that previously, some people would hoard the games and flip them. I only had one title of each game that I wanted, and I only picked three. The three I purchased were DOA Extreme 2, Godhand, and the Kinetic w/ Eye Toy for my g/f. I'm looking to hit other CC's in the area to score what I want. Anyhow, congrats to those able to score more than three per transaction!!!!

BTW, tons of people were clueless on what was for sale! I had a lady "follow me like a bloodhound", trying to see what I was grabbing.
