Ooooo, that's going to be one sweet package. It will go nicely with Mega Collection Plus.

The deal was for 14 titles. That would be 11 + the Phantasy Star Collection.

There are more coming out in Japan right now. I think they are in the 20's now, or close to it.

these arnt ports, they are the remakes japan got about a year or 2 ago.

but between this, ps trilogy, sonic mega, and sega all stars sega has a pretty nice lineup of some classing gaming this year! now all they need it to put together a classic light gun compilation ^^

Ok, with a little searching, I found the PS Trilogy and the Sonic Mega collection, but what's the Sega All Stars you mentioned? The closest I found was the Sega Superstars game that's a collection of EyeToy games. Is that it, or is there another game I need to get super psyched about?

Now all I need is to get Capcom to bring some of their Generations titles over from Japan, Konami to realize the gold mine they have in the idea of a Castlevania or Contra collection, and Nintendo to release a GC Mario collection, like the Zelda one. Ok, there's probably more that I need than that, but it would be a good start. :)

That's ok. I just didn't want to go crazy looking for another compilation that didn't exist. :) I thought of more Genesis games I'd like to see in some compilation, though... Toejam & Earl, Kid Chameleon, Dynamite Headdy, Decapattack, Ghostbusters, or Gunstar Heroes. Oh, and the Disney ones... I think they were Forest of Illusion and Quackshot. Those were pretty good.

This is all I could find in IGN, but it only mentions 4 games being included. It does mention what will be redone for these 4 titles:

SEGA Ages: Classics Collection
Combining four of the 3D Ages-developed remakes of past SEGA software, Classics Collection will feature redone versions of Fantasy Zone, Golden Axe, Monaco GP, and Space Harrier. All four games will include redone soundtracks, graphics, and mode types. Expect to see it on store shelves sometime near the end of fall, beginning of winter 2004.

I think the two you can't make out are Bonanza Bros. and DecAthlete Collection. Check out this link to see the Japanese Box Art for the individual titles in the series:

I have the Virtua Racing, Monaco GP, Fantasy Zone, and Space Harrier imports and I really like them and was completely happy with my purchases from a few months ago until I read this thread

I won't be happy until they remake the entire Shining Force trilogy.

At least they did Phantasy Star though... most of it.

When is this from? Because I know they already plan to release Phantasy Star 1 & 2 in the Sega Ages: Phantasy Star Trilogy release.

All these news items are old. It may well be that they just decided to release everything on one retro collection, figuring they weren't worth mid-range releases by themselves, and seeing as retro compilations are doing very well these days. I'll be over the moon if that collection is for real, though! :D

I'd think that at 1st, but then again these just aren't ports like MAT. They are remakes, most are largely redone, so I guess I'm a bit skeptical they'd release all at once on a budget title. Then again I certainly won't complain if they indeed do!

I have a couple of the remakes (Golden Axe and Outrun) and I really dislike them a lot. I wish they would just port the original games over, it would have been so much better. The new graphics are nice, but the games just don't play the same as they used to, especially for Golden Axe.

There are tons of Japanese games you can acquire North American publishing right to for remarkably little money. I mean like $10,000 to $20, 000 for items that did OK business in their native market but never got picked up for foreign markets. The trick is to find items that will sell to the US in decent numbers and that don't require an expensive localization effort. Most of these Sega items are ideal in those respects. The ones that aren't have previous localizations that can be used for reference and are thus still fairly inexpensive.

Wow, I haven't heard this before, but if its true, that is cool. Any release dates floating out there for this? I wanted the Space Harrier remake (I hae always loved that game), but I don't know how much I was willing to pay for it. But, $30 for it with a collection of other good games would be worth it.

If you ask me, the original was much better than this one. Plus, they removed some of the games from this one for whatever reason. For example, the original Mortal Kombat, which was supposed to be on here, was removed to be included with the new Mortal Kombat game that is coming out. They removed others too, like STUN Runner. I'll still be getting this, but it's not as good as the first one, nor is it as good as it should have been.
