Im sure my brother would be quite happy if he got Madden a day early. No matter what I do he refuses to buy ESPN, but I guess its not my money to waist.

Most Gamestops are selling their Maddens to preorders on Monday. They do this for a lot of highly anticipated games.

I got the call on friday, I can't wait. My Gamestop has a raffle and give away footballs, hats, some upcoming EA Sports games, and more. Last year, the guy who won TW 2004 didn't even pick it up when it came out.

I'm not even a huge football game fan (like the sport, but not the games) and I want to give ESPN a try. I mean its only 20 bucks, you really can't go wrong. I've spent 20 bucks on worst things.

do you think espn will be 20 next year. I think not. There are going to have to sell a hella amount games to make a profit. They usually drop a game from 50$ when its not selling or its broke even and now they need to sell copys for a profit.

Yes, I believe that the ESPN franchise will remain at 19.99 as long as they keep losing to EA in sales. Think of it this way. A lot of Madden fans bought ESPN 2K5 for the simple fact that it is $20. Most of them would not have even thought about buying the game if it was $50 since they are not going to spend $100 for two football games and then only play one of them. But for $20, well who can't spend $20 for a brand new game? That's $20 that Sega would not have gotten in the past.

Tack on all of the casual sports fans who won't shell out $50 for a game they'll hardly ever play but are willing to invest $20 and there's more money for Sega they weren't getting before. Personally I think this strategy is smart but they have to get a LOT of people to buy their games for it to work in their favor. They are working to unseat a juggernaut that has dominated the market for years. They have to try something new.

The fact that 2K5 is a kick-ass football game doesn't hurt either. Personally I will not buy Madden as I have a fully functional football game that I got for $15 (GGC at BB). Madden may be the better game (which I'm not conceding in this post) but 2K5 is the better value.

I wonder how much the Gameboy Advance version will be. Will it be also $19.98 or even lower at $9.98???

i was hoping the OP would say "madden cancelled" that would be rugged. though the commercial is pretty funny.

every body has already judged the two and more than 90% people wont be playing it for a few more hours. I have ready quite a bit of reviews and i have not yet seen one saying espn is better from a major source. Im getting espn and madden today. So ill judge it then. Im still a bigger madden fanboy though.

I just got back from GS, the raffle will be at 7 and I hope I win some stuff this year. Last year, I was a few numbers off on a few items. :x I also noticed that they remodeled the store and it looks a lot better, before, it hadn't changed much for a few years.

I just got back from Gamestop with a copy of Madden 2005 CE. There had to have been 150 people waiting in line for it. Almost won a strategy guide and a Browns team flag in the raffle, but I didn't. One guy won an CE Strategy Guide and a Ray Lewis jersey.
