when i was @ gamestop this past weekend. there was a lady who was trying to trade in zelda for the ds. which was unopened. the girl working said they could not take unopened games and even if she went outside and opened it she would not take it still.
here is the part thatr takes the cake. she then mentioned to the lady that if she opened it outside and tried to trade it in she would call all the stores in the local area and tell them not to take it in WTF!!!!!!!!
another reason i hate gamestop. the ermployees there used to be cool but now they turned into corporate robots.
for iamthecheepestgamer it is the one buy marks tattooing so you know :-)

Feel bad for the person trying to trade in that game at one of the local stores that was refused because of that incident.
Then again, it was probably just that one clerk being a dick.

I think it's great actually. America is about sueing, she can sue and get a million right?
Otherwise that sucks.

I hate to say it, but I don't blame the employee for not taking it in, since when people leave games sealed, store employees are supposed to be trained to think that sealed=stolen.
That GS used to be the BEST ONE in the area to grab guides from, but now they are as you said, a bunch of corporate drones, though Johnson City, NY has some nice GS employees. That's about as far as I've gone in recent memory to snag a guide I wanted, due to my near banning locally.

WTF how is this even logical?! Who cares if it's open or not? If they think it's stolen it doesn't matter that's not their problem

Actually, it does matter if it's stolen. They can get in trouble for selling stolen stuff. That's why some states are trying to make so that every store that deals in pre-owned merchadise has to operate like a pawn shop, which would require holding every item for a few days before they could sell it.

I can see the clerks p.o.v. For all she knew, the lady stole it from some store.
However, it was uncalled for saying she would call all the stores in the area.

Company Policy....she did absolutely nothing wrong by not taking it since it was sealed.

If I was the lady I would probably go outside of the store and pretend to open it just so the lady at ebgames would spend all her time calling the stores in the other area and telling them

Yea but there is no easy way to prove it was stolen
