i am playing chico marx in a show in a couple of weeks, and need a ratty looking borsalino hat, that looks like it was just fished out of a trash can. It doesnt have to be borsalino i guess, but a fedora that could pass. Any suggestions are welcome, i didnt find any while dumpster diving or at thrift shops

They just got in a bunch of spring stuff from American Eagle including hats. Unfortunately, most of them are straw, but I saw one that was basically the right shape...maybe you could paint/stain it?

i dont think a straw hat would be appropriate.
Besides all of the value villages are really too far to drive(hawethorne, hunnington beach). I check thrift shops and will dumpster dive costume shops when possible, but they usually lock the dumpsters so that sucks.
