Its not that great of a game, and I love the series. Kind of pissed me off in a way.

Rare? No way. You can still buy none GH copies of it for $15-20 in retail stores.

Yep. I picked it up at CC a while back for $15 bucks. There are still a bunch at my local CC.

BTW, Spacepest, I like your sig. My fiancee got me a magnet that says that for Christmas this past year.

i don't think it's rare...there's still craploads of copies available pretty much everywhere

i haven't played the castlevania games but i decided to give this one a try and boy oh boy did it suck...there's like a billion different doors that you can go through..camera angles are akward on most of the jumps

I bought the game for $50 around the time it came out, and don't regret it. It's clearly one of my favorite PS2 games and I just love it. Great graphics, gameplay, soundtrack, etc. It may be a little different from other Castlevania's, but I love it.

The game is still easy to find, for $20 new.

My local BBs can't seem to get rid of these. $15 with GGC but I still haven't picked one up since they have so many. Probably sometime soon though.

I bought it for $50 when it came out as well, mostly based on all the reviews in magazines and my love for past CV games. Not sure it was worth 50, but it's definitely worth 20.

How is having lots of doors you can open a bad thing? Would you prefer a 100% linear game?

Hmmm... I've been on the fence about this one for a while. I may have to take the plunge.

I was really disappointed, I got it for 20$, and it's pretty boring. I would rather re-play a 2-d Castlevania.

The soundtrack alone made it worth $20.

i still thin SoTN had the best music in any game EVER. especially the hidden track when you put the cd in a regular CD player.

SOTN indeed have one of the best soundtrack of any game. As for Lament of Innonence it was good for a being 3-d. Alot better than the one that came out on N64. Lets hope the next one is as good as or better than SOTN.

Definitely worth $20 bucks. I don't know why everyone despises it so. I absolutely loved it.

Haha, that's where I got my sig, its off a fridge magnet my hubby bought me. I wish I could get a bumper sticker of it to slap on my car.

The soundtrack on this game rocks. My husband now gets his turn at this game, and he's got the sound on our TV cranked up high so he can enjoy the music more. I would love to buy a Castlevania soundtrack CD, but most of them are so damned expensive that I haven't gotten one yet.
