Starting bid is only $12,000 for 1,000 systems. That's 12 per unit without shipping. EB has them for much cheaper. I just thought this was quite an odd auction, I mean how did they collect 1,000 N64s to begin with?

Some systems may be defective. Some systems are missing the jumper packs. Something tells me that The winner would be lucky to come out of this auction with 5 working N64s.

That would have been a good deal... six years ago!

They'll likely end up in a third world country to serve as a platform for pirated ROMs. The final unit cost might work out too badly with the high margin piracy angle factored in.

He also has another auction for 300 Dreamcast for $4,200. Of course, no one has bid.

Sega DreamCast Used Lot!

SOME OF THESE SYSTEMS MIGHT BE DEFECTIVE

Each system includes AV cable, AC cord and 1 controller. *Some of the controllers are original and some are not*

It could be some company simular to BB that rented N64 systems are getting rid of all of their systems.

I doubt it. Blockbuster usually just blows them out through the stores. It can actually be a really great deal if you find one of these sales. They come in the carrying case and usually with a second controller, sometimes even other accessories.

When Blockbuster was getting rid of their Virtual Boy stuff they had rentals as described above for $20 each and the games for $2 or $3 each. I bought about a dozen of everything and used them for gifts. Most of the recipients were folks who didn't pay attention to the console game scene so they'd never seen the Virtual Boy and were utterly stunned by my generousity. At that price the failed product was a great novelty item.

I did a similar thing when they got rid of their Saturns.

Wow. I would have loved to get in on a Saturn on the cheap.
