highly doubtful, games for windows wants you to be added as a subscriber...it means they can jack their prices for ad space.

I haven't gotten a single piece of spam mail because of this offer. They give out free subs. because they hope the print ad. revenue will offset the print/ship costs to them.

Ditto. Between the free magazines forum here and the one on Slickdeals, we get 10-12 different magazines for free and have never gotten a piece of junk mail related to them. It doesn't really matter what email address you give; I give one of my spam addresses.

I signed up for this about 4 months ago, and although it takes a while for you to first get a copy, you eventually will. It was sort of a hassle to have them roll-over the 1 year free subscription to my current one. That took about a month before they got back to me with everything settled.

I'd do it again, but November 2009 is a long ways off. The magazine is pretty good, but I'd have to say that their podcast is much better, and it's free.

This is one of the reasons that thread exists. This isn't a video game deal and doesn't belong in this forum. The magazine thread is a one-stop destination for ALL mag deals. These threads are always popping up and they're unecessary clutter. It's easy, really. Want a free mag sub, go to the free mag thread.

Why? I'd like an explanation for why free stuff belongs in one thread, but if it cost $1 it wouldn't. THat makes NO SENSE. I think most CAGS are going to be interested in free/cheap game magazines. Certainly more than are interested in strategy guides or something.

At any rate, the magazine is pretty good. I've been getting it for about half a year now, and definitely think it's one of the better magazines out there. (I guess I like PC Gamer more though, and don't like the "Games for Windows" tie in since it's kind of silly branding.)
