More Stuff From Sony, Some of it’s Free
Looks like alot of content added to the PSN Network, too bad that there it is a chore to browse the store. How about a update to the store itself?
I like the free themes, free is always good.

CES 2008: Keyboardus Maxiumus Coyoteius
i like the idea, you know everything that comes out at 1st is super expensive, it'll go down to $200 and eventually more companies like ms and logitech will make a similar keyboard and then it'll go to at least $100. give it a year or 2. Sweet stuff though. I likeee

I was 2 when this game came out.
I don’t remember playing it ever. I didn’t really have a choice because my dad was the one buying the NES and throwing Super Mario and Contra my way.
This game looks awesome though. I definitely want to play it. I am a big contra fan, but this bionic commando looks to be even more intuitive.

Play Star Wars for the 2600, Just Like the Pros!
I was 3 in 1983, but I remember playing this and Indiana Jones alot though. I still have my Atari actually with Combat. Moon Patrol, Asteroids, Q-Bert, Donky Kong, Pac-man, Pong, I played them all. It wasn’t Arcade worthy but for a young kid it was close enough. The best thing ever, atleast until I got my hands on a NES, but Atari is what started it all for me. Ah, the good old days. Classic.

That looks awesome. Bionic commando was one of my favorite nintendo games and I'm looking forward to playing this version. The 2 player co-op and the way the guy parachuted in reminds me of another of my favorite NES games, Rush 'n' Attack.

I really didn't like the original game, but thought the swing motion was kinda cool. I did however enjoy Ninja Five-O which took the swing motion to another level. I hope this remake will have swing motion as fluid as Ninja Five-O. If it does, this will be bought.

Hey CheapyD and Wombat, I love your show and I'm hoping to take that prize pack from ya!
I'm stinky so the old spice will come in handy, and I'm in college in San Francisco working on a degree in game design, so the controllers would come in handy there (plus when I become a big time designer I'll use my 'connections' to send the CAGcast LOTS of video games for your contests!), and right now I'm trying to play Assassin's Creed on a TINY 20" Emerson TV that I've had for about four years, so the HDTV would REALLY help me there.
I've told both of my roommates to check out the gamesblog and the CAGcast, and I also told my brothers/sisters and a few of my friends so hopefully you'll get 6 or 7 more subscribers. Keep up the great work, I listen to the CAGcast all the time!

What I’m curious is why there has been very little coverage of this. A Dan Hsu rant on why we won’t get a Midway exclusive for the next rehash of Mortal Kombat, is less important for gamers then getting us to tell developers give us meaning full NEW downloadable content instead of a different bunny suit for character of your choice.

it would have been a better move on their part if they simply said they needed the money, then instead of feeling ripped off people would have a warm charitable feeling. I think honesty works in some cases and this story deserves attention.

I'm glad someone is bringing attention to this! I understand that the game developers are in business to make money, but would it be too much to ask for a little more effort from them? By effort, I'm not even necessarily talking about the effort that it takes to creae NEW downloadable content, but rather the effort to at least conceal the fact that this downloadable content could have been easily included in the content that the consumer paid their original $60 for. I mean, come on Sega! If your not going to put effort into most of your games, at least put more effort into deceiving your loyal customers.

I’m agreeing to Chris Duran’s comment - the PSN store needs a bit of an overhaul. I got Guitar Hero 3 for Christmas and heard of some downloadable content for the game, so I started to browse the store using those tabs on the main page. However, I found diddly squat. EA needs some good press right now and this is a small thing to do to get them some. I'ts probably going to be riddled with adds though but that my mean I get to blow up a Madden in game billboard. On second thought that sounds great.

EA Makes a Free Game: Hell Freezes Over, Film at 11 (http://gamesblog.ugo.com/index.php/gamesblog/more/ea_makes_a_free_game_hell_freezes_over_film_at_11/)
I’m just afraid that EA’s idea of “innovative” is to overhaul (i.e. copy) the graphical style to an established franchise while not doing any significant changes to the game mechanics (what really could elevate the game to the next level). I would hate to see EA debilitate another franchise like they have done with Medal of Honor.

Nice, great pick for things to look forward to Wombat. Other things to look forward to: Cable Networks (FOX mostly), News publications and select senators and congressman flipping out and calling for a ban for this game. Yay Censorship!

My name’s Brian, I played Mass Effect and I’m now a sex addict. That 2 minutes of partial alien nudity in a 30 hour game, well that’s all it took.
Now if you’ll excuse me I’m gonna go play Madden so I can learn how to zome block.

As soon as I saw the words Fox News I knew that this story would be utter crap. I swear sometimes that the news people in general, on all stations, are from a different planet. They are always so out of touch with the real world. All they prefer to do instead of getting their stories straight and understanding the world is stir up controversy and start trouble. Of course then that trouble then is also fueled by the millions of stupid people who will watch somebody tell them one side of a story and instantly latch onto that side without even thinking about understanding the whole story or rationally coming up with their own ideas and using their own brains. This is just another example of the America getting out of touch, out of whack, and just plain stupid. Exactly the reason I do not watch the news.

There are two many trends in the Patriots’ favor, i.e. Brady coming off a bad game (always bounces back well), facing the same team twice, their experience, revitalization of Maroney, for them not to win. The Patriots can beat you in so many different ways. The Giants deserve a lot of credit for getting to the Super Bowl, but the Pats will win, but won’t cover the crazy spread.

Below is my posting about the Mass Effect/Fox News Story. I was surprised to read that Wombat played the game twice and I rethinking my choice to not play the game now, not due to the great, hot, full-frontal female (alien and non alien) nudity but due to the fact that it's worth replaying.
I love the fact that when the man says basically that it’s not the government’s job to censor this stuff, but the parent’s job to make sure their children aren’t exposed to sexual content. And then one of the women says that’s unfortunate.
This isn’t a surprise to me, and is nothing new. I just love an uninformed media’s reaction to this type of thing. The argument that kid’s let themselves in after school, are unsupervised, and will want to play their daddy’s video games (after they used the argument that’s it’s young teen boys playing games, not the dad) leaves me asking many questions.
1. What kind of parent lets their children come home to an empty house everyday after school?
2. What kind of parent leaves adult media out for easy access for their children?
3. What is keeping these unsupervised children from logging onto the internet, looking up all kinds of porn? Is there material on cable TV that could be considered more mature then Mass Effect that they could access while they are unsupervised? You might say their are safe guards against that, but their are safe guards now in place on the Xbox too.
4.What’s keeping your child from having some friends over after school in the empty house he comes home to, and having a massive orgies and sex parties?
5. If you’re child is really old enough, and mature enough to be coming home alone from school, to an empty house where there is no parent to moderator him, isn’t he likely to be mature enough to handle this content?
Maybe these people should talk to their children, and educate them about sex when the time is right. Do their job as parents in regards that they clearly are not. And not get on to soap boxes that they don’t belong on since they don’t know what the hell they are talking about.

Better Than Free Camel Toe:
The value of Undertow is approximately 4 times the dollar amount of the two weeks worth of an XBLA Gold membership. Granted, I probably wouldn’t have bought this game otherwise, but I’ll take what I get. I’ve been on Live with the same gamertag for over 5 years, and I can count the number of times I’ve gone to play and couldn’t because of LIVE’s performance on one hand. Maybe I should hire a lawyer… Think I’ll just download this and be happy.

While I certainly cannot complain about something free, it would seem to make more sense just to extend every active gamertag out another month of Live service.
Still, free is free, and since the outage was during my playing of Mass Effect and Assassin’s Creed, I hardly noticed.

This was in reply to the crap debate on fox about SEXBOX...
I saw this the other day and I was so so angry at how ridiculous it was. There is so much nudity in ME so so much. She shouldn’t be arguing for something thats false because it makes here look like an idiot. Though Geoff’s use of the word “boob” made him sound unprofessional so it didn’t aid him in his debate. Then again, SEXBOX is pretty damn childish as well.

I think it is really funny that these people are afraid that kids are going to see this scene in a video game but they show practically all of it on TV for every child to see. It’s Ok if it’s on the TV, but not Ok in video games.

Been reading, but I finally had to start commenting, this is the one that has been killing me: http://gamesblog.ugo.com/index.php/gamesblog/more/fox_feigns_anger_over_mass_effect/P25/
My vervose reply: (Spoiler tagged for length)
"Well, EA is asking FNC to apologize, according to Kotaku.
I don’t think we’ll ever see that happen, though.
The worst part is the pure unprofessionalism displayed; ie: admitting to just watching trailers for the game before the taping - but she formed an opinion and is willing to share it.
And, isn’t it just wonderful that killing hundreds of humans and aliens is okay, but be careful of any implied love making! Would these airheads rather have a child walk in on his dad smacking his mother around than accidentally walking in on them making love? (Although, admittedly, seeing one’s parents having sex can force one to therapy...)
I have said it other places, I’ll say it here: Let’s ignore the violence and shooting and killing and rally against the <GASP!> romantic scene!
Lovemaking = big no-no, but shooting someone in the face = A-okay!
(And no, I’m not anti-violence, just pointing out the hypocracy at work here.)

Watching this was excruciating.
Only in a news story about games could someone joke about how clueless he was about games (the enchanted princess game) and then turn around with a straight face and give the sembelance of an informed opinion. And his well researched opinion..."nobody could argue that Luke Skywalker meets Debbie Does Dallas is a good thing.” This for a game that has the graphic nudity of a pg-13 movie.

I'm not suprised Faux News didn't do something fair and balanced. It's typical mainstream news bs. It's pretty sad that people have to go to other countries news' sources or websites to get real news on the USA. This game came out like 2 months ago and now Faux News does a report on it? Plus they get everything wrong. Makes you wonder what else they get wrong... doesn't it...
I give EA props on calling them out. Now EA just needs to get their games back in order instead of screwing over the customer and maybe EA can be respectable again instead of doing the least amount of work. That's like me in high school! Thats why I have to enter contests for deodorant.
