here are the catches
- only EMI artists
- no way to list artists
- search function doesn't seem to work (though you can genre browse)

i heard someone mention Queen is there but I haven't been able to find it. for a truly entertaining time in the Hip Hop section the best of Snoop Dogg get 'Down 4 My N's (Edited)'. I've always wonders how some songs could possibly be edited and remain listenable. That's a perfect example.

I got a WMA file with DRM, 160kbps. Definitely not an mp3, as I can't play this on my iPod unless this DRM is easily removed.

I call false advertising on the OP's part, unless there's something I'm missing here.

what the heck did you download? I've gotten 3 albums all mp3 format.

Oh crap yes. You have to click the Search button twice to get it to work, for one.

If you check the help section of the site, they mention how some of the catalog is in MP3 format and some of it is in DRM'ed WMA format; unfortunately, there's no way to tell until you redeem a credit by downloading a track and finding out yourself (like you did).

Nonetheless, thanks OP, I'll have to snag a few tracks from this.

Ah. Well, nice deal then, unfortunately didn't work out for me. Still have two song credits though, so we'll see what happens next time.

well that sucks. I can't play DRMd wma files.
Don't hesitate to use the creds though I used the link in one of the e-mails about 10-12 times for 3 creds each before it wouldn't work anymore.

Thanks OP. The songs seem to work on iPods, or at least they work on mine.

This is weird, I tried it and it keeps letting me get free tracks, the counter is broken. I don't know if it is doing it for anyone else. Also the drm music is unlockable then you can just make a cd and reimport it. I grabbed about 50 songs. If you use one email address, go and log in, then do another one while still logged in, it confuses it. I used some cheap mailinator addresses. A list of most of the artists is here
http://www.emigroup.com/About/Music/Default.htm

By the way, this site seems like some ill concieved russian site, it's interface is horrible.
