I scanned the deals and didn't see this listed. circuit city has a sale, online only for the messenger kit (x360) at 19.99 (http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Microsoft-Messenger-Kit-for-Xbox-360-882224486088/sem/rpsm/oid/190809/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do).

also

soldier of fortune for $39

stuntman ignition for $29

beowulf for $19

lasts until tuesday.

sorry if this is a double post

The messenger kit is the only thing on sale, the other games are all permanent drops in several places.

Amazon has the chatpad for the same price.

I love the chat pad; took some getting used to since it adds a bit of weight to the controller. Sounds trivial right? It wasn't for me, took about 3 days of playing R6V before I could "recalibrate" for the additional weight. Sad, I know. lol

What games do you find the chat pad to be useful on? I'm curious because I'm interested in getting one of these but I'm not sure if I would really get much use out of it.

Nice, I may have to grab one since I had one on order during the whole Dell coupon escapades and it never went through. I wish they had a pack without the headset for maybe $5 off, though.

Yes but you have to buy something else at Amazon to get it with free shipping, plus wait for it to ship. Thanks for the heads up OP!

It says "Internet deal" but in-store pickup seems to have worked for me, so if you want to save shipping you have that option. Thanks for the post.

hmm do pickup in store via Circuit City and have to pay $20.99 with tax or just keep my amazon order which threw in a book and have to pay $26.98 with the free super shipping which could take a while...

I'll have to think on this myself but I think I'll go with Circuit City on this one (sorry Amazon)

is this a week long sale though? rather wait to buy it until I get paid Friday

the only thing i could see this useful for is if you rip a lot of music to your 360 and want to rename the files.

easier to send messages when I'm not using the mic (on the phone or something) or renaming files in Halo3.

Even if that's on sale, the chatpad is still way overpriced at that price.

Question about chatpad - can I plug it in on the fly and use it for something and then unplug it? I can imagine wanting to use for some typing things in some games (i.e. - Viva Pinata or Halo 3), but wouldn't want to have to keep it in all the time. Thanks for any info.

Picked one up today and CSR price matched CC.com no problem. Was able to use my gamers club card to get an additional 10% off so I paid $19.26 after taxes out the door. Pretty slick deal!

This is a Messenger Kit, which includes a headset as well as the chatpad. The headset alone lists at $19.99 ($16.99 on Amazon). No question about the Cheapass credentials. :)

LOL. I think this is a great pricepoint for this item as $20 made me jump on the deal. Ive never touched one before today and I have to say I really enjoy using it to text to people. I hate voice messages as you usually have to replay them more then once to understand what they are saying.

$20 with a headset is a great deal! This also makes entering xbla codes that much easier as well!

I don't really think I'd ever use the chatpad. I type like 10 messages a year. Usually, "invite"

Just picked this up after a Price Match at Best Buy. With a $10 Reward Zone Cert. it was an easy choice for $9.99 + tax.

I got one of these using one of my Dell coupons. Because of a error and me having to cancel and still receiving my PS3 Blu Ray remote, I got the chatpad, 12+1 XBL, and the Blu Ray Remote for about $45. That Dell deal was awsome.

Is $24.99 the new $30?

RadioShack also has it for $24.99 until Saturday.

$20 is a great deal considering you get the (useful even if just for entering codes) chatpad as well as the new model headset. If you play Rock Band, the new headset is useful because you can plug it directly into the drums or guitar without the stupid adapter, and the headset is $20 if you buy it on it's own anyway...

EDIT, well at $25 less of a deal but maybe still worth it.

BTW, the chat pad has backlit keys which is pretty useful. I wasn't expecting that.

Just got mine today from amazon (I know this is the CC thread but...) and its so much better than I expected. The lag I heard about and how you can't type too fast is a lie... I typed at a fast speed and it is fine. Also, the backlit keyboard is awesome, It is flush in the controller and doesn't add too much weight. Definitely worth $20!
