They deserve it. It says very clearly in the title that it's game only. It's their fault for not reading into it.

lol thats funny. He cant get in trouble though since in the description he cleary states its only Halo. Good marketing idea by him for placing the green xbox w/halo on it to trick people.

That's not good marketing - it's deceptive marketing. A reasonable person could in fact think they were bidding on the system, not the game. Keep in mind that the "reasonable person" is a moron.

Still, the seller is rather foolishly risking his hard-won rating by playing this game.

I sent the bidder an email asking if they were sure of what winning this auction would get them. It should be interesting to see if this causes any change.

The list of bidders is interesting. As you'd expect, most of them are newbies except for the second guy. Surely 63 transactions is enough to know better but not this guy. The sheer persistence of the bidder billjodicolin is either sad or a shill driving up the price. And this bidder's name, zokakokazokakoka, brings to mind the infinite monkeys typing are likely to only produce infinite amounts of gibberish.

is the halo game that comes w/ the halo xbox the EXACT same thing u can buy at the store? or is it in a green case too?

maybe the green case'd halo games are rare???

I agree that a new Ebay user or people that don't understand the concept of reading, could easily fall for it...So in that way it's deceptive. But, I question if the seller intentionally meant to put the picture like that...I mean, he's done over 1000 transactions, why be doing things to risk getting a negative feedback? Erm, then again he really can't get in trouble for this...But still it would give his/her name a bad rep.

All Xbox games come in green cases, except for Platinum Hits which come in platinum colored cases. There are nearly 4 million such green encased Halo copied in circulation in North america alone.

It's never too late for someone to be tempted into doing something stupid and detrimental. Look at the number of very wealthy people who manage to become white collar criminals. It one thing for someone trying to reach the top but for someone long since there, it's just stupid.

It can be viewed as one of the manifestations of the Peter Principle:

I see by looking at the seller's other auctions that he is primarily in the business of sports and celebrity memorabilia. So running this kind of scam likely isn't too much of a change from SOP for him.

I can understand that, and I'm not saying that the seller didn't do it intentionally, because he probably did. But, in the auction it says that they got the game from the Halo bundle, and if someone innocently bids on an auction without fully understanding what's being sold, then the seller may have made a similar innocent mistake by putting a picture of the bundle up...That, of course, would be giving him the benefit of doubt.

Some sellers that have alot of feedback can also be amazingly ignorant, they just usually get away with what they do because no one calls them on it.

Please, as if that were the only image of Halo he could find. The fact the he even mentions the bundle is indicative of his intent to mislead since the origin of the particular unit of the game has absolutely no bearing on its content.

I notice one of the bidders (with an 89 rating who should know better) is called bigkelly45353.

Are there actually another 45352 eBay users who choose to be known as bigkelly? It makes me wonder how many bignick's they have . Accept no imitations.

He seems to be a big fan of "beware, buyer leaves false feedback" whenever he gets a negative. I especially love the one negative where his response is the above and "look at my feedback". If he did nothing wrong, why not respond with what actually happened. This guy is a good example of why eBay feedback can be very misleading. He seems very shady, but his feedback looks ok.

you know, there is nothing wrong with this. in fact, i think it's pretty great. he posted a picture of the game halo that happens to have the green xbox in the picture. even the title of the auction leaves out the words "syste" and "console" or anything else that would imply that the actual system is part of the auction.

it's similar to how some sellers take one picture of a bunch of cds and/or games and then post it, explaining that the auction is only for one of the items in the picture, not all of them.

in the end, i hope the winning bidder pays this guy and the seller gets to keep his money. they aren't being ripped off, it's their own fault, and mayeb they will learn a valuable lesson.

the buyer deserves it because the person said what the product was. but it is still very tricky of the seller and with his negative feedbacks he sounds very shady like the person did good business for a while and every now and then they still do it so that they can scam some other person and make it look like they are good with their feedback.

I cant believe ANY of you are sticking up for the buyer or even contacting them to tell them their error...that's just not cool. According to Ebays contract the winner is OBLIGATED by the contract to pay.

Sorry but I could give two shits about any picture on an auction. If you can't read a description you dont belong on Ebay. Who the fuck just looks at a pic and bids? An illiterate moron noob...that's who.

The buyer deserves to pay $191 just for Halo. We should all be so lucky to find such stupid buyers.
