Theres this local band called Manatee here in Austin that my friend LOVES. Austin is the live music capitol of the world, so there are piles and piles of bands that I dont even know about.

Taking Back Sunday is from Pennsylvania. My band played with the new singer's old band. They're still crap.

Did they get clearance for using those sounds on the video games? If not, they are lawsuit bait.

Not many of them around where I live but there are some good 80's rock tributes.
Earthquakers (Amish Rock Band)
Fat Angus - Tribute to AC/DC
Ozzmosis - Tribute to Ozzy
There was a tribute to Motley Crue but I forget the name to it.
These are the only ones that come to mind right now.

Really? Austin, TX? Not NYC or LA? I've never been there so I really don't know but it seems like an odd place to be the music capital of the world...

funny you mention local "bands". now in the circle, we wouldnt consider them a band, but Raw Intel who is featured on the NFL2K5 soundtrack, is actually from here in buffalo. The members Ed Reyes and Trev Thorn are actually friends of mine and have been in cahoots with many BabySteps HIp Hop shows here, including Jeru the Damaja and El da sensai. other local acts considered : Xtracts of Slang and the Pseudo Intellectuals.

hahaha... there's a band that went to school with me, that shares the same name as a poster here... called Trust Company.

They went to Prattville High School. It's funny how they're alternative/punk.. they were preppy kids wearing Timberlands and Tommy Hillfiger clothes back then.
