So I was in CompUSA and I spotted a cart of clearance games, nothing too good, but I did see MVP 2004 for the Gamecube for $8.88. I didn't buy it though, I don't own a GC. They also had Dr. Muto for the PS2 for $7 or $8.
This was all in Manchester, CT at Buckland Hills.

oh damn thats a good deal eventhough i dont have a GC you could get like 20-25 bucks credit at EB for that. And was it stickered 8.88 or what?

I'd snatch up $50 worth of copies and use it as trade in fodder at FYE and EB. Too bad I have no idea where to find a CompUSA.

They only had one. I know I should have gotten it. Stupid me.
Yeah, it was marked $50, then a big X, then like $30 or something and a big X, then finally, $8.88.

Did it ring up as 8.88 from the UPC or did they have to override it for you.

I doubt he knows. He said he didn't buy it because he hasn't got a GC.

My local CrapUSA didn't have a single copy of MVP Baseball 2004 for any system. I had them look up the GC version in the computer and they said the price was $41.88, and the CSR also said she thought the .88 might mean they aren't going to get any more. I don't know if that's true or not. Just a theory but maybe the staff at the OP's store thought that MVP2004 was an older sports title since most current generation franchises are using 2005. Looks like this was a single location clearance.

Mine didn't have any in stock for either of the 3 systems either. However, they did have a table with stacks of games for the big 3 and PC with a Buy 1 Get 1 Free special. Nothing too great tho. Most of the games were way overpriced, at least the sticker price was, not sure if they would've scanned at a different price tho...

Not to get too off topic but CompUSA is really a joke for games. I've seen some old games labelled with a clearance tag at 49.99.

Call my local Compusa and they don't have any copy (Discountinued item)
Ebgames give it $20 or more credit for it and gamestop give it $17

Seriously, I have no idea why anyone would go to a CompUSA for console games. I worked there for about a year and never used my employee discount on games cause their game selection is horrible with outdated prices. We would always redirect people to the Gamestop or BB in the same plaza. In fact, most the employees would go over and shop at BB. But anyway, if you are lucky enough to find anything at your local CompUSA, clearances are usually marked by a neon green or orange sticker and special sales on the shelves have red signs. Dunno if that really helps since its been about 7 months since I quit.

Meh, I should have bought it, but I didn't. Oh well, not the end of the world.
