It was a great game IMO and this one seems even better. I haven't gotten Black Arrow yet but it seems well worth the $30 I am paying for it. It will have 4 old maps and 10 new ones plus new modes and clan support. It looks like a great game.

Just played an hour of the cannister game type and it was good fun. One of the maps had a problem with spawn camping, since you don't spawn right up against something and someone can sit behind where you automatically look when you start (I think it was Italy).

I paid $35, and it was worth it, already. I can see myself putting SOCOM-style time into this.

just picked this up yesterday, and i suck too, having never played the first one...

I thought I was getting used to it and getting better --- then I ended up playing against a clan of superhuman cannister-campers and my ratio dropped from nearly 1:1 to 1:3 (.67) and my ELO fell below 1000 fairly steadily.

Oh, and grenade launchers should be officially declared cheap in the hold-three-satellites-for-thirty-seconds game type. It ends up like, turn the corner-BOOM, dead. Even look at a satellite, BOOM, dead. Very annoying.

I do appreciate a quality remote charge detonation, though. Had a sniper sit on top of a bridge, protecting his flank by placing remote charges under the bridge. Pretty clever, even though he blew me up (if I held a grudge against people that blow me up, I'd have a REALLY long list).

So... Who's up for some Retrieval tonight, say around 10pm EST?

More likely my dislike for the previous game is it's realistic setting. I'm not much for realistic war sim type FPS or for that matter war movies/tv shows. Also I need my jump in FPS being able to cut corners of ramps/stairs is something I'm too used to having thanks to jump. Having said that I might have to give it a go maybe I can ebay my original R63 to make it less of an investment.

I believe it was rallen [DesertEagleXIX] that came up with the concept of CAG East and CAG West --- if we get enough people we split the teams up by region, that way you're playing primarily with people more likely to get a good connection with you.

It was also strange hearing two disconnected conversations going on simultaneously -- at one point both of you were commenting on how you couldn't hear each other, and saying it at the exact same time. Stereophonic!

Just an FYI to those who found the first game flawed due to the horrible aiming scheme, this one is much better.

I almost passed on getting this game because I became so frustrated with the aiming in the original. I couldn't stand that my SPECIAL OPS soldier couldn't kill a guy with a single clip.

Now the aiming is much tighter and the game is far more enjoyable.

I think you can only belong to one clan at a time. If you accept a recruiter's invitation while already a member of another clan, the new one supercedes the old. I could be wrong, though.

Sadly it's not really there for communication purposes -- more of a monitoring tool. I hope in a future release they allow you to send messages to XBL friends through MSN. For now, it just tells you who is online and what game they are playing. If there is an invite to play a game it will tell you that too.

I think the clans are filled up now, but you can move some guys around and let magilacudy take my place.

I don't know if not many people have the game in my clan, or haven't had a chance to play with the rest of the CAGs yet or something else, but I will most likely, join my friend's clan right now as I really don't see any reason to stay in this clan. Unless we can get some more CAGW clan members on so we can practice and play against the other CAG clans if possible.

It turns out, our clan leader closed down the clan. I wasn't able to make 2 clan matches becuse school just started, and appaently, not many others could make it to the clan matches either.
