I'd love to have over 100 games (who wouldn't) but no time and not that much money... but those of you who have extensive collections (especially if many games are unopened), don't you worry that you'll never get around to them? Also, what happens when a next-gen system comes out like PS3 or Xbox 2 comes out? Would you want to stick with the old system or would you get the new stuff too and ignore all the backlogged games?

Remembered PS3 won't come out Till Fall 2006 or 2007 and all PS2 games is compatability with PS3 system.

I won't BUY PS3 when it release but I do pickup PS3 games whenever it go cheap or clearance (Stock PS3 cheap game b4 pickup the system). Also, most of my PS2 is AAA titles so it can keep me bussy when I pickup PS3 :)

Check my sig for my site addy. There's a few missing, but it's a solid collection. I'm pretty sure it's doubled since finding CAG late last year.

As for large collections and time to play the games - yeah, it's a problem for me (as I work too much) but when I do sit down to a game and really get into it, I tend to finish it that weekend. The days of all night gaming bliss are few and far between now :( so when I do get some solid gaming time, I make the most of it.

Remembered PS3 won't come out Till Fall 2006 or 2007 and all PS2 games is compatability with PS3 system.

I won't BUY PS3 when it release but I do pickup PS3 games whenever it go cheap or clearance (Stock PS3 cheap game b4 pickup the system). Also, most of my PS2 is AAA titles so it can keep me bussy when I pickup PS3 :)
I'm not sure that they established backwards compatibility with the PS3 to PS2 yet, but yeah I get your point. It's just that if someone has like 100 games in general, not all of them will be AAA caliber games, you know what I mean? So when something shiny and new were to come along, I just can't see a lot of people resisting the urge to get that and the accompanying games for it too. True, next-gen stuff isn't gonna be here for awhile, but going through these forums, it just seems like many people are just getting games for the sake of them being cheap or a good deal and not actually playing them. It's hard and I'm guilty of it too, but yeah. Now I'm way off topic. I guess I just wanna say, "People play your games. Don't leave them in the shrink-wrap forever. They get lonely." :)

Very similar to the OP's list. Money spent on the collection: close to $0 after selling the second list of games. Was lucky on eBay and got a bunch of them for really cheap as a lot, played them for a short while and then got rid of the ones I didn't want to cover costs.

I have about 281 PS2 games. It's the system I have the most games for, but the one I probably keep the loosest tabs on in terms of chronicling my collection. That's because I get a lot of freebies that I don't plan on hanging onto -- either they're just bad games or I have it on another platform -- so it's probably closer to 300.
