Prices fluctuate on Amazon about as predictably as the stock market. Seems like if you miss it then there's no way to get it again unless it comes around.

I've gotta say I'm disappointed. They just are giving us the same exact figure and box as the Japanese release. I don't really think this is a collector's edition by any stretch of the imagination. I guess I'm only out an extra $10 plus $7 shipping and tax which is disappointing but not awful. I am curious to see what the resale market will be like (not that I would sell since I am planning on playing the game) as I doubt a Japanese figure and box will garner much interest from many collectors.

I'm sure that everyone that ordered their copy will get it. "Completed" either refers to whether it has been shipped or is in the inventory to be shipped out. I would expect all of the the orders to trickle in through this next week.

doubtful. Disgaea 2 crashed in price. they did fetch 150 to 225 i think they are down to 60 to 70 now

Except it's not really limited to 1,000. The figure was released in Japan as well and in a quantity of probably 5,000 or more units from what I can gather on-line. There are even auctions for the Japanese version on Ebay and it seems like you could buy that for cheaper than what some of these US auctions are going for.

The game box contains the game in a standard PS2 game case, and then the OST in a jewel case. The "poster" is the OSTs cover insert unfolded. Thats probably the "lump". Otherwise, theres a little bit of cardboard to hold the DVD case on one side and the OST on the other, so things don't rattle around loose.

The game box contains the game in a standard PS2 game case, and then the OST in a jewel case. The "poster" is the OSTs cover insert unfolded. Thats probably the "lump". Otherwise, theres a little bit of cardboard to hold the DVD case on one side and the OST on the other, so things don't rattle around loose.

I thought PS3's were going for a couple grand the first week, went down to a grand, then normal price in late January.



I definitely bought this to sell, no two ways around it, and I'm not going to be pissed if I don't get $150 for mine, just a little let down. I often get in on these kinds of deals just for fun. As long as I break even, I don't regret them since, if anything, it's just more reward points on the credit card.

Well, I think most of the people who are paying those high prices are collectors. So they most likely don't plan on reselling it. There isn't really much profit after paying so much, unless the value drastically goes up over time. If the value goes down then people will probably just keep it.

I really was hoping for one single, cool looking sturdy box with the game and figure. The figure box is paper thin and seperate.

Thats pretty much the reason. there is nothing different from the regular figure, same with the edition of the game. IMO, they should have gave it a different cover and a variant of the figure.

I found that early on, wandering in the dungeons was very dangerous. The monsters get really strong after you've been in an area for 9 hours (I think it's 1 minute = 1 game hour?) and you'll get lost a lot at the beginning. A lot of the early missions takes you deep into an area. I barely made it to the destination point by jumping over all monsters along the way.

I have no idea why people put BIN's on the auctions in the first place. The first auction hasn't even ended yet and sellers decide it's a good idea to slap a value on it before you even get a true gauge of it's resell value. Who the hell knows, the resell value might actually be higher than estimated. If that happens, awesome, if it doesn't, oh well.

If you look at the Play-Asia site, the Japanese version of the Premium Box is sold out. I saw it on the YesAsia site but its going for $90 and their saying its extremely limited in stock. Only played Eternal Mana for a few hours a long time ago, but wasn't really interested in playing another RPG at that point in time.

well the disgea 2 artbook was just an artbook, maybe thats why it never recovered.. people seem to get to excited about new stuff that comes out and usually reflects about a week or so after its release. look at the metal gear saga volume 2, they're not selling at $177 anymore.

but i think the true value of the premium box included with the game will be around $70 to $90 in the near future. reviews are still not out with this game but the atelier iris games were not that bad of a franchise so im guessing this will get good reviews too.

I'm fairly certain this issue is present with all Gust RPGs though, they're certainly not for everyone...but to hardcore RPG enthusiasts such as myself, they're an oasis of enjoyment in what's becoming a dry world. Here's hoping that this gen's RPGs (SO4, PS3 SMT, 360/Wii Tales, etc. etc.) keep the genre alive.

Edit: I'm sort of perturbed that this game scores a 72% while Crisis Core scores a 86%. I'm sure it's a decent enough hack-n-slash action RPG, but I realllly wonder what the scores would be without Final Fantasy VII holding it afloat.

I normally don't buy the argument that games instantly score higher b/c of their branding, but my limited experience with Crisis Core sure suggests this might be the case...

To each own I suppose. IGN recently released a review for WildArms XF(5.8) as well and although I can see how it could be a love it or hate it kind of game, most of the points they brought up as a problem were due to the incompetence of the reviewer and his lack of skills.

I've liked all the Atelier Iris games(not so much the third one because of its structure) so I'm pretty sure this one won't sway me in anyway.

I plan on opening the single copy that I ordered and playing it as soon as I am able. As for the figurine... that's to be decided.

A 5.7 isn't being given out by an RPG person. If you enjoyed other RPGs, as I believe you do by your comment of Suikoden, you'll more than likely enjoy this.

I'm a few hours in, and I've never really played a Gust game extensively before. My first impressions are that it's a solid traditional RPG with quirky, anime-styled characters. My favorite thing so far is the AP system and its combination with Alchemy. Feels much more rewarding that the time-old Level Up. There's a definite challenge to the game as well (increasing with each new area, as well as lingering in said areas for too long). The ability to leave a dungeon at any point with no penalty is so good too. Find a dungeon too difficult? Just leave and do a little alchemy to give yourself a few upgrades in either stats or equipment.

$40 well spent. I just wish I had purchased the guide now...WTB Ingredient List >.>

Reviews are funny like that, I guess they write for the average "Joe Madden" gamer.

For a game like AI2 or Mana Khemia I would read what RPGamer or RPGFan had to say.

Ther percentages are bonkers and EGM is just confusing things more with their letters, the numbers are basically meaningless.

This is my biggest fear. I've already had a Retroduo system stolen off my front porch, and have told the postal service repeatedly this week that I'm expecting a package and want them to leave the CARD, not the PACKAGE. If this one goes missing, some heads are gonna roll.:bomb:
I don't think you have to worry about them leaving it out on your porch because the package requires a signature - at least my LE did. USPS brought my package to me (MA) on Mon. morning, but since I was at work, they left the pink slip saying a signature is required and I would have to go to the USPS branch to pick it up, which I did.

I got mine on Monday and they just left it on the porch with the other 6 packages I received. LOL I swear almost everyday is like Christmas at my front door. I opened it up and the figure is very well done, and it's already sitting on my Game shelf. Can't wait to play the game, but its unfortunately joining the ever growing back log of RPGs.... >_< They need a PS2 portable. lol, so I can play more games on the go.

Got my copies yesterday, sweetness. I should have just ordered them all so I could resell them for a fortune on eBay mwahahaha. Nah, I wouldn't do that - I'm glad a lot of CAG'ers got in on this. But it's a great set.

Now I just need to wait for Persona 3 FES, and for Metal Gear Solid Collection to drop to $25 or less. I just hate paying MSRP...CAG has spoiled me.
