I'm interested in getting this since I was a fan of the movie and book. But is it worth gettting at $40 at amazon or should I wait for a blu ray release?

$40 for the series is pretty good, considering they originally released them on 8 seperate dvd's for $20 a piece.

Edit: I can also see this going OOP on DVD or not getting another release on Blu-Ray for quite some time, if at all.

Just an FYI, it ended on a cliffhanger and was cancelled, so the story doesn't have a proper ending.

I paid $40 for the series. Very worth it to me.

I got it for $18 used, and thought it was pretty bad. :( if only they made the stories/violence more "R" than "G" rated.

I picked it up (if I recall correctly, and I might not be) $25 on an amazon deal of the day. I always enjoyed watching it, but I was kind of annoyed when I found out the box set was different then the individual releases. I forget all that was different, but I believe the boxset lacked the special features of the individual releases.
