I own whatever anime I could find cheap. Well, most of it was cheap. I bought Evangelion on VHS when it was first released, which cost me a total of about $300. But I managed to get the Trigun DVD box for $35, and I bought Blue Seed when I saw it at Best Buy for $40. That said, I haven't watched much anime in a few years. I want to get Kenshin DVDs, but I'm broke, and will continue to be broke for at least a year.

Last week I saw some show called "Read Or Die". It's only 3 episodes long, and it's awesome. I'd highly recommend it.

Ummm...The whole fucking point of the series is that Kenshin makes a vow never to kill again, and begins using the reverse blade sword. You obviously weren't paying attention to the show at all...The OAVs are when Kenshin is still Battousai the Manslayer, and thus can kill people.

Ummm...The whole shaq-fuing point of the series is that Kenshin makes a vow never to kill again, and begins using the reverse blade sword. You obviously weren't paying attention to the show at all...The OAVs are when Kenshin is still Battousai the Manslayer, and thus can kill people.

I fully understand the reason for the reversed blade, but (pun not intended) the edge that the OAV had was lost in the process. If it were a serious anime with a guy dealing with his horrible past, I would have lapped it up like so much Jack Daniels. What they gave us, instead, was a campy shade of the former badass Battousai. I didn't bite.

And FYI, I watched a full season of that crap before judging it. Be more careful before you jump to conclusions.

I was interested in the Ninja Scroll series since I think the original kicks ass, I just wasn't sure if it was going to be as good. Oh yeah, I liked the Stand Alone Complex, granted I've only seen what's on the 1st volume, but I found it to be very slick, especially for a movie to series translation (which usually end up sucking). It's also been getting pretty good reviews.

Record of Lodoss War if you like Fantasy at all. I wasn't hooked on the continuous-storyline animes until that one. I was pretty much into serials at that point, like Ranma 1/2 and Cowboy Bebop.

It takes two times through the series before it stops giving you a migraine, but if you have the luck to fully understand it the first time through, it's great. The Evas are really cool to watch, too.

That doesn't mean it's a bad series exactly, just not nearly as mainstream as Bebop is and is really in a different style. Personally, I'm not a huge FLCL fan myself, yet I do recommend you watch it at some point when you really get into anime (if you choose to do so) because to the show's credit it's both unique and well done.

I am really into manga though, so most of the series that come out i can't like because they are based on manga and do such a bad job i can't even watch it (like naruto, GREAT manga, horrible anime, same with inuyasha).

I like anime too, and have seen too many series to list them all.

I don't watch anime as much as I used to because I can't find a good video store in town to rent them from anymore. When I lived in California my local video store had a huge anime section, and even had some trauma inducing hentai in their porn section. Since I moved to Nevada the only "anime" I can find at my local video store is Pokemon or Hamtaro *barfs*. Anime is too expensive for me to buy...plus there is nothing worse than paying alot of money for an anime DVD only to go home, watch it, and totally hate the series. I never buy anime anymore unless I get to watch it first.

Now I'm stuck watching anime on TechTV and Cartoon Network. TechTV anime is some of the worse...horrible stuff, and so poorly dubbed that half of it doesn't make any damn sense whatsover, I call it "incomprehensible anime". Adult Swim isn't that bad, it just takes them forever to get new episodes of anything, so they end up playing the same stuff over and over again.

I've watched all of...

FLCL (Dub), Cowboy Bebop (Dub & Sub), Trigun (Dub & Sub), Dragon Ball Z (Dub), Gundam Wing (Dub), Gundam 08th MS (Dub), Petshop of Horror (Sub), Evangelion (Sub).

Some of... well a lot, DVDs are too pricey, and downloads are too obnoxious.

Agree. I got Hellsing, Cowboy Bebop, GTO, and some of Inuyasha really cheap that way. I got almost all of Yu Yu Hakusho from Best Buy though. Just 7 DVDs left till the end.

My fav series are Yu Yu Hakusho, Blue gender, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, GTO, Inu Yasha, Chobits, Evangelion, and Detective Conan.
