i need some good head phones to survive my death metal music. the IPod hps ether blewout or they broke after awhile. i keep losing the rubber things on the Phillips ones and the sound quality wasnt that great. the Skull Candy ones were GREAT! but i lost the rubber things.....so are there any good headphones that dont come with detachable rubber thingies?

depends on your budget and what style you're looking for. I tracked down a new set of the panasonic brain shaker on amazon for 21 bucks shipped- they kick some ass. were you looking for wrap arounds, over the head, in ear, ear buds, monitor style ect ect.

i'm getting these. they got great reviews everywhere i looked and are cheap and probably the style you want. also come in white, but more expensive. check the reviews, even the audiophile sites say they're the best sounding in this price range...

I recently bought JVC Marshmallows and love em. I had a pair of $100 Sonys as well as a pair of Philips and I actually like these better. Not only are they cheaper, but they're more comfortable and actually block out the sound a lot better:

I had this same question on here like 3 years ago. And I was reccomended the Koss PortaPros (http://www.amazon.com/Koss-PortaPro-Headphones-with-Case/dp/B00001P4ZH/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1202267710&sr=8-1) from a fellow CAG and have been amazed by them for their price. I get compliments on their unique look a lot and they are extremely comfortable.
They can be had for $35 new on amazon.

I have the JLabs Earbuds that are sold on Amazon. They have fantastic volume levels, if you are looking to play your metal at high volumes. I paid 13 dollars for them, I love them.
I also have the Sennheiser 201HDs for the home, which are rediculously high quality for 20 dollars.
